This is a good spot... if you can find it. Tucked away in a nondescript industrial area, Steeplejack delivers a unique and above average experience. They have beer, wine and cocktails for order. The prices are very fair... but no hazy? Only One IPA? That doesn't land for this Portland guy. They have a food truck on site that offers appetizers, sandwiches salads and pizzas. Portions are good and the food was tasty. Seating isn't particularly comfortable but the open space is inviting. I love seeing the large stainless steels containers of beer in the making. And you can throw a corn hole bag indoors... consider that your wintertime delight. They have Trivia on Thursdays and the atmosphere is lively. Bring some friends and soak in the fun! read more

This place is a hidden gem amidst an unassuming industrial business complex. There were plenty of parking around the area and they have a few picnic tables outside which I can imagine would be perfect for the summer time to bring a furry friend to. We came on a Saturday late afternoon for an event and used the awesome loft space upstairs with arcade games. The whole place was big, bright, and clean, with a back room for private events and the big vats right there brewing your favorite beers. You order at the bar area but it could be crowded with long lines at certain times. Service was friendly and helpful with beer selections and food recommendation. We went either the Happy Hour deal and were very happy with our food. You get a buzzer for your food and you have to go around the back to get it out of a food trailer. This feels a little odd but feels like they streamlined this system on their end. Now for the food: the pizza was sooo good! The crust was crispy with a delicious cheese pull. I also really enjoyed my classic sandwich of ham and cheese. I thought the arugula salad really helped round out the flavor profile and added some freshness to the sandwich. My hubby liked his NW beer and I loved the Marionberry Lemon soda water as a nonalcoholic option. We would totally come back again and try the other pizza combinations and different beers next time! We had dinner here tonight. This has been one of our go-to spots during the summer, so this experience was really disappointing. We were a party of nine--four adults and five kids. Our children were playing foosball, and my daughter let out an excited scream after she won. At the very same time, the soccer game was on, and customers throughout the restaurant were cheering and yelling just as loudly when a goal was scored. Despite that, a bartender named Katie (who is the manager crazy enough) came over and said, "The kids cannot scream like that. Do you hear me? That is a danger scream, and that is not okay." We were all completely caught off guard and honestly thought she was joking at first. While we understand wanting to keep the environment enjoyable for everyone, the way she spoke to us felt unnecessarily rude, confrontational, and completely out of line. We had always thought this was a family-friendly place, but after tonight, it certainly didn't feel that way. Customer service is about addressing situations with kindness and respect, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking during our visit. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

Happy hour everyday until 6pm. The pizza is great, personal pepperoni pizza is 10$ and is really good (enough for leftovers). They have a wide range of beer styles including European. The big draw for us is the British style cask beer, which is on point. That said, they have good hazy and ipa's. They also have cocktails for the non-beer people. When we asked the cook about our order, she apologized and said that they usually aren't so busy in the brewery and also had a huge number of DoorDash and UberEats orders. They should turn those off when the brewery is busy - bummer we had to wait so long when we were there in person! Our four year old filled up on granola bars and pouches during the 1 hour wait and then didn't even touch his pizza when it finally came, so it was totally wasted. Beer was good. Food was delicious. I only tried 2 beers, but I enjoyed them. Cider was good. We had the margarita pizza and the new summer pizza with peaches and pistachios. Both had such a weird taste, if we weren't super hungry these wouldn't of been eaten, however neither were finished and thrown away. I love pesto anything and neither of these were good and they both had pesto. I give the brewery 5 stars bc they have cornhole & a bunch of games insides plus beers are good. Meh. In an area littered with great breweries, this place does not live up to the competition. The beer choices were slim and they were out of the only one that sounded halfway interesting. They would not do 4 or 8 ounce pours so we had to commit to a pint of not-great beer. The food truck in the back by the bathrooms is awkward and the pizza was just okay, good for kids maybe? Not the gourmet pizza they promised and not worth the cost. The atmosphere is industrial and it's lofty and hip, but cold and the seating is uncomfortable. After getting settled into a table with my two young children (1 and 4), my husband walked to the bar and ordered a beer for each of us. I had to come to the bar to show my ID. (I am almost 40 years old.) My ID was punched by the DMV last week and the bartender refused to serve me. My temporary ID was at my house without power in Portland. She asked me if I had been to this location before (no, I hadn't it's "new") before ultimately denying me (and consequently the rest of my family) service. I really like this brewery. They have board games, corn hole, air hockey, and a fuze-ball table for your enjoyment during your time there. The music in the facility pairs well with the industrial ceilings and giant brew tanks making this spot unique! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the recommendations from the bar tender. There seemed to be lots of locals who frequent here and I can see why. The community aspect is very clear and quite the vibe. read more

We love coming here and have always had great service. My only ask would be to have a hazy on tap (always) it's rare we get one and when I asked she said "they sell out so fast" I now check to see what's on tap before going so we don't go as often as I'd like. We had our football draft there in the back little room and it was great. We'd also love to see the food truck trade out for other choices or maybe in the summer invite other food trucks. A $7 to $8 pint of mild in Hillsboro is ludicrous. We didn't tell you to fabricate a stainless steel barroom in that space. We didn't tell your brewery to write a check that its current distribution can't cash. Steeplejack's per-ounce proposition is worse than Great Notion's, but at least that latter brewery has come off of its loftiest pricing a bit and settled into a nice post-pandemic reality. A Tropical Pilsner isn't a hype beer, and pricing it like one when there are better beers on ABV's taps for about a buck less per pour is insane. Best of luck to you and your staff on this one. You're already facing a crowded market in your chosen home in Portland: Why make this harder on yourself by imposing such a ridiculous premium at your production facility in light-industrial Hillsboro? I got the Margherita pizza which was pretty good I really liked the crust for this pizza. They said everything made from scratch and they used heirloom tomatoes which I don't see often on pizza. This place is very spacious and comfortable. It's a large space with ample room to go about. The pizza is really good, and the drinks are great. Getting there can seem weird because it's sorta in the middle of nowhere, but that's because they are actually brewing there and need a large space for it. They even have some board games for you to play, and a little projector to show movies or sport games going on. We were there on a Saturday evening and there weren't that many people there. For such a large space they have, I think they can do more with this place to utilize the space and make it even more inviting and fun to get people to come. Visited this location for the first time on Friday evening. A bit hard to find in the business park but finally found. Bartender told us HOA forbids them from putting signs in the area to guide the way. Nice spacious brewery with a bar and seating within the facility. Modern and clean. Got there at 7:30... in time for last call. I had the Imperial IPA and my wife had the fresh hops. Both were very good. Prices were on the high side but comparable to other prices in the area. Also got a pilsner can to go for $2, very reasonable. Hope they expand the hours soon since I work evenings. I liked the fact it wasn't crowded. Since it is close to my house I am sure I will visit again fairly soon. read more
