Windmill Creek Vineyard & Winery - Cheese fondue

Windmill Creek Vineyard & Winery

Incredible experience, and I would highly recommend for a special night out. Our server fully…read moreexplained the menu options. There was more than enough food for four people. We started with the cheese board and the crab dip. ( more bread or crackers for the crab and cheese board would have been nice) We moved on to the cheese fondue with one skewer of protein per person. 2 chicken and two scallops. My son found the chicken cooked enough, I found it a tad undercooked. The cheese fondue was very good, but I think it was "split" giving it a slightly lumpy texture. There were plenty of potatoes and veggies for four on the platter. We HAD to have dessert, but as stuffed as we were , we ordered for 2. There was more than enough for 4. The melted chocolate was divine!!! We all loved it and will be back again. It was a wonderful evening.

Have had multiple visits over the years seeing this establishment grow and have enjoyed them…read more However this was fourth and worse igloo visit. It was not clear on the website when making reservations that the menus posted were not for the igloos. Even items we asked about on the menus provided were not available (menu said available until 3 pm in igloo, it was 200 but still told no- yet we also couldn't get the steak or rockfish in the igloo. As well, previous igloo visit options provided fondue for 2 (not 5!) and could be altered for one meat and one seafood eater however this time we would've had to at $240 to get both. At minimum $120+$10-$12 extra to add one skewer. Although the ambiance is an "experience" it was not a satisfying culinary experience. As well, it was not clear we couldn't divide our checks up amongst each couple as most all restaurants can do. (Can only do 2 checks, we had 3 couples) It was more cumbersome on the waitress and us than just charging each couple one bill, we weren't sharing food or said put half this on each etc. it was clearly just 3 couples. As for what we did get... if crab dip hadn't had a shell in it I wouldn't have believed it had any crab in it, just cheese flavor. Steak skewer was well done (no choice given) yet veggies were aldente (to say the least). Wine was good but limited selection. I really don't understand why I can eat one think inside yet can't 20' away we would've had a much better experience if some accommodating had been offered on any of the above issues.

A sunset dinner reservation at the Tide Room in the Ashore Resort and Beach Club was marvelous. Our…read moreserver, Vilad was friendly, incredibly attentive, and funny! He was on point throughout our entire dinner from the first hello to the end. For starters we were served rolls with tri-butter ensemble, followed by the TR crab dip appetizer served with house made potato crisps. Decadent and creamy there was lump crabmeat in every bite. It is worthy to mention Ashore Resorts where Tide Room is located is a registered True Blue Restaurant that serves authentic Maryland blue crab. We also had the baby arugula and kale salad and it was cool with crisp greens. A well balance of the goat cheese gives this salad A+ for pre-dinner enticements. For beverages we had an array of selections - En Fuego, Cloud 9, and OC Old Fashioned. All were great, my old Fashioned was strong *wink! For dinner, we had the Blue Crab Truffle Carbonara, and the 10oz. A4 Wagyu Coulotte. Everyone enjoyed their entrées. A simple modification for my carbonara with gemelli instead of ziti was granted and I was a happy gal. I appreciate the balance of the pasta to crab ratio. Generously portioned this dish! The 10oz. wagyu prepared medium was a highlight... the marbling and that fat cap was incredible, it was so buttery tender. The ambience is bright and the open dining space welcomes loud chatter! Definitely book reservations if you can, and specify indoor/outdoor, by the window, and booths are best for couples no more than 2. Tide Room does a great job accommodating celebrations as there were several parties celebrating the night of my visit. Parking is onsite and some overflow is across Coastal Highway. Come early, enjoy a cocktail while you wait.

Our waiter was so attentive and helpful as it was our first time there. They even gave me a little birthday card and dessert. The food was also very fresh and delicious! 10/10! I'm definitely adding this to my restaurant list for OC!

Bethany Travel had arranged the event with about 20 related travel organizations. We arrived around 4 PM when the event started. We checked in at the front desk to receive our raffle tickets. There are some beautiful views of the Links golf course and Assawoman Bay. We visited the various travel tables to talk and pick up some various travel brochures. Complimentary coffee, ice tea and water were also available. Tables were also available for customers to sit, drink and eat. Eventually they arranged some very nice hand held hors d'oeuvre appetisers and desserts in the bar area. We did not win the raffle. After the raffle we left to return home. We had enough to eat so we did not stop for dinner. We have lots of brochures to read and investigate for our future travels.

Solomon was very helpful and accommodating. I didn't like how the staff because cleaning up around us while the party was still going on. People got up and as soon as they did, they took their chairs! I put my napkin down and still had my things at my seat and came back and my napkin was gone. Not good. The bar staff were nice and engaging. Food: chicken breast (I guess?) with sauce, mixed veggies, red cut potatoes, pasta with a sauce. The chicken was tough and tasteless. The veggies and potatoes were bland. The best thing was the pasta. They ran out of food, so some people did not eat. For the price they charged per plate it wasn't worth it. They also have a side where the public can dine. They didn't check the bathrooms and both the men and women restrooms were out of toilet paper and hand towels. They have a golf shop. They need to do better. The 3 stars were for the view, Liz and Solomon
