Wish I can give it 6 stars. SteerBurger Grill & Grub is such a hidden gem! It's a food truck with an indoor dining area with AC, which honestly confused me a little at first, but ended up being a great setup. The folks working there were super friendly, and I really appreciated the hospitality. The dining area was also very clean. Now for the burger and fries: OMG, what a surprise! The burger was seriously so good. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. I visited close to closing time, so I was the only one there, but the place seems like it could be a really fun spot to hang out, especially with the outdoor patio seating. One small idea, if they haven't already considered it: it looks like there might be enough space for another food truck or two. An ice cream truck would be especially fun for families and could make the space even more interesting. (or beer garden for adults... hey you never know haha) Overall, great food, friendly people, and a really cool setup. Definitely a place worth checking out. read more

Arrived at Steer-Burger on Wednesday,August 13, 2025 at Lunchtime! Ordered a 1/4# Steer burger, $9.95 plus a Soft Drink and order of fries ($5.50). Total cost $16.73 with tax included. We have eaten here before and the Customer Service was as great as it was this day. The quality of Burger and fries not so much! My Burger was medium which was OK but it came in one big piece and one small piece. The French fries were of low quality and not one of the pieces was over 1.5 inches long! As usual we had to go to the bathroom to get paper towels as every time we have been there they appeared to be out. Very Disappointed! We don't mind paying the current market price for a very good burger but today, We would have gotten better burgers and great Fries at Whataburger! The current Steer Burger was a step above Burger King and Sonic. My qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; I have over 65 years of Management Experience. I have a College Degree with a BS in Management and have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I've managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. As a Culinary Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine and sales and customer service. I am giving a four-star because the burger was super messy, dripping everywhere and left a spot on my shirt. Now that being said the Burger was amazing! I got the Round-Up without cheese and mayo, mustard instead. My husband ordered the Outlaw with cheddar cheese instead of pepper jack. Both were very delicious and very MESSY! Ask for extra napkins or grab from the washroom. So very good. Great unassuming place, highly recommend a visit, they have pork and or chicken sandwiches and hot dogs too. Unique situation here, but the best burgers in the area-Wow. Fresh, good quality, prepared to your specifications. Staff and owner are super nice. I guess what threw me was there was a nice little house to dine in,and outdoor seating as well. Hubby was craving a good old burger and read some reviews and decided to come try this place out. They were seriously short handed so the eat in part was not open so had to get order to go. We tried a mushroom Swiss burger and a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were amazing. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had and the burger was juicy and crisp. We also ordered fries and onion rings and the fries were gone before we made it home. The onion rings were my favorite part of the meal. I cannot wait to go back and eat again. I was sorely mistaken; Steerburger offers what is possibly one of the best burgers not only in Rockport but the entirety of Texas' coast at prices that are so low you'll completely forget about inflation ever being a problem, all done with a very accommodating and patient staff. Definitely the best greasy, classic burger I've had in a LONG, LONG, Time. I really loved this gem. I also bought fries with it that were very average. However, the burger was so good that I'm not going to ding them for it. When you arrive, there's a little food truck / shack thing on the left. Go there and order. The people taking the order are super cool and nice. The building is to sit inside if you want. We joined most folks and just ate in my truck. The parking is a bit tight and everyone parks a bit wonky, so don't sweat it - just slide in somewhere. I had the Honey Ham Burger and you should know by now that I loved it. Perfectly cooked. Originally a food stand/truck, the location has an indoor dining area now that seats about 16 indoors and another 10 outside. That's a guess off of memory but probably close. The burgers were outstanding. There are several options including basic, jalapeño, BBQ and Swiss Mushroom. Of course, you can go off menu and Build Your Own. There are also chicken, pork and hot dog options that read very tasty. Just a little outside of Rockport on your way to Aransas Pass, look for them and pull over. You won't be sorry. Will not return due to their complete lack of regard for handicap patrons, and failure to provide handicap parking spots. We got here at 6:15 Tuesday evening, with no other customers there. No handicap spots, and their parking lot is large stone gravel. My husband could not use either his walker OR wheelchair on their lot. So after I ordered I parked up by the building - no NO PARKING signs here - where he could access the ramp. We went in and sat down and before we even got our food a bearded dude came up and asked if we have a Nissan. When I said yes he said we'll have to move, that's not a parking area so I asked where are the handicap spots?! He said I can park any where on that side (far side) of the lot. I proceeded to tell him we can't get across their lot with our handicap devices, and he said move, you can't park there. NEVER AGAIN. An 89 year old veteran should not have to deal with this mess. read more

Off the road little place if you blink you will miss it but boy are the burgers delicious! You order at the food truck and you can eat inside the cute little building that is nice and clean, or set outside at the picnic tables or you can wait in your car for them To bring you your food to go! We popped in to Steerburger on the recommendation of the owner of the AirBnB we were staying in. It doesn't look like much-you order at the outdoor truck, then you go inside the little building to get your drink (self serve fountain drinks) and you can sit indoors or out. Inside, the tables are separated by clear shower curtains hung from the ceiling, due to Covid-however, they aren't being used. The tables are picnic style tables. The sweet tea wasn't overly sweet and was a bit 'metallic' tasting, but the soda was good. The burgers themselves weren't large, but were definitely tasty. The biggest issue inside was the flies. It was hard to eat due to waving them away. I'm not sure we'd go out of our way to return if we're back in Rockport, but the food WAS good. read more

Steerburger is the f'ing BOMB. Seriously, their burgers are like slices of heaven. Perfectly cooked meat with all the smoky charbroiled goodness. One of the best buns ever. It's like they walk out back and hand-pick the lettuce and tomatoes right off the vine. I don't care which variety you try, you're gonna love it. Every time I go I say, "this time I'm getting the chicken, or the pork," but I can never get past the damn burger. Crispy fries, glorious tater tots.
