a plate of tater tots and a plate of breaded potatoes
    Dave B.

Four of us ate here for a Friday fish fry during Lent. We arrived just before 4:30 and found it very busy - something I took as a good sign. We waited in line for about 20-30 minutes. I counted 4 servers plus a bartender, and they were all very busy. It was nice and noisy, what with all the apparently happy diners talking together. Once seated, we had to wait another 10 minutes to place a drink order but, given how busy it was, the wait wasn't unreasonable. All four of us ordered the fish, with the only variance amongst us being our potato choice. One friend had fries, which she felt were not hot enough. Her husband had the hash browns, which he enjoyed and said were done to his liking. My wife had the baked potato, and she liked it. I had the tots, and they were good. The meals also came with garlic toast, coleslaw and baked potatoes, however the one nit I have about them is that they are served in one smallish bowl which is meant to pass around the table, meaning each of us was able to have only about a large tablespoon-sized portion of the slaw or beans. They did bring another serving of each upon request, and we all liked the beans and slaw, somewhat surprising to me because I don't really care for coleslaw at 95% of the places it's offered. Here, it was very good. The first round of fish was a little warmer than lukewarm, but it was very good and had the perfect amount of delicious batter. The second round of fish was nice and hot. We all agreed that we'd eat here again.

Fish fry Friday with hashbrowns, cole slaw and baked beans.

There are plenty of nearby options for fish fry, but don't expect a shorter wait and Dan's or anywhere else in the area.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate. Tried the cheese curds and fried pickles for appetizers- came with delicious homemade ranch for dipping. Got the Rundown and Queen burger with waffle fries and tots to try the different options. I loved the Rundown burger - so refreshing for a summer burger. The tots came with cheese dip - yum! Saw another person order a Bloody Mary and had to give that a whirl. They home make the mix and make them spicy or not to order. The place is broken up into different rooms which made for a more intimate atmosphere while also being able to serve a lot of folks.

I did a search on Yelp and came across this place that was only a few minutes off our route and it was more than worth the extra 5 mins. The interior was filled with little signs and rubber ducks. For drinks I ordered the Bloody Mary which came with a spotted cow chaser and my husband ordered the mimosa. We spotted they had spotted cow cheese curds and ordered these. They were absolutely amazing and rivaled the Mouth Trap Cheese Curds you get at the Minnesota State Fair. For entrees I ordered the Butcher Omelet with Hollandaise and it was so delicious and packed with fillings. I had no hope in finishing it so we took it home for leftovers. My husband ordered the Three Little Pigs Benedict and noted it was a top 3 benedicts he has ever had (he loves benedicts). I also ordered a cold brew cocktail I think it was the Spiked Salty Caramel and it was delicious and decadent! The entire time we were there people kept stopping in and visiting the bartender to get drinks and it was so fun to see. She was absolutely so fantastic and one of those bartenders you would go back to see over and over. Just a bummer its not close to our house. I would recommend this place to anyone who is over in this area. It is so perfect!

Hubby and I both ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of hashbrowns. Everything was perfectly cooked and we were delighted with the crispy hash browns Strangely, we find crispy, perfectly cooked hashbrowns very rarely. And we have breakfast out fairly often. This restaurant nailed it! The prices are very reasonable, and the service was great. Highly recommend!
