Gotta love a fabulous time celebrating a 101th birthday! No better place to celebrate. Food always reliable and service always spot on! Old fashioned vibe you can count on. . . Always. Well, not the shrimp.

Great food. Loved the Large Prime Rib and Hash Browns. Friendly service. Convenient parking.

We had never eaten at a supper club before and we enjoyed the experience! First of all, when the website recommends reservations, they mean it. We had reservations for 4:30pm on a Saturday, right when they opened, and we were surprised to be in a long line. When we were seated, our dining room was very soon 2/3 full, and it didn't take long for it to fill up the rest of the way. The ambience is truly something. We are in our 40s, and this place is a total flashback to the fancy restaurants of our 1980s youth. It is delightful. The servers were fantastic--we were never left wanting, and they were non-stop busy; there were two very large parties seated nearby, and I could see they were being taken well care of. We started off with drinks. I had an Ace Pear Cider while my husband had a beer. We ordered the walleye bites appetizer, in part because we just moved to the state and hadn't had the famed walleye yet. The appetizer was delicious--I will definitely be eating more walleye in the future! I ordered the filet mignon while my husband ordered the large prime rib. The side salads came out next; they consisted of iceberg lettuce and were basic but good. Along with that was a kind of snacky carb boat with two hot rolls, club crackers, and small, crisp breadsticks. Butter was alongside. There was also what was described as a relish tray, but was not what I think of as relish, but some ice cubes keeping cold olives and carrot and celery sticks. The main entrees came out with perfect timing. Both are dishes were nicely cooked and seasoned. I really enjoyed the mushrooms that came with mine. I also had a baked potato, while my husband had crinkle cut fries. We finished things off with dessert: hot chocolate fudge cake ala mode. It was quite good. The cake was so thick that it really needed the ice cream (or maybe hot coffee or something else to enjoyably wash it down). Whenever we have family visit, this is the place we will bring them for a quintessential Midwest experience, unpretentious homecooked food, and a delightful time warp of a setting.

Another bad meal at this restaurant. The chicken was over done and dry again. I mentioned to the waitress this has happened before.

I went there for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. There are over 100 choices of burger combinations on the menu. The burger was delicious. I told my boss about it and now we're going there for dinner tonight. Twice in 1 day? Yup! And I'll be back before I head back home.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate.
