Beware their terrible delivery. Their truck actually ran out of gas on 10/8/18. I had moved my furniture out on Monday morning. They could not reschedule until Wednesday 10/10/18. Even then, they are three hours late. Their customer service can do nothing and does not care. I was actually told by "Paul" that he wasn't customer service; he was a salesperson assisting customer service. You would think that a truck running out of gas and being unable to deliver would compel them to prioritize your delivery two days later, but they just do not care. I advise to take tour hard earned money elsewhere where you are valued as a customer. I would give their delivery and pathetic customer care line zero stars if possible. Made 4 trips back and forth between Steinhafels and Slumberland. I loved the look and feel of the Bovale sofa. At $1,580 OTD I was ready to buy. I turned down Slumberland 30% off one day sale and free shipping and great sofa at $1,160 OTD because I was willing to pay more for this sofa the first salesman told me was Italian leather and would last a lifetime. Met with another sales person and floor manager to find out it is China made leather and the longevity no where near what the first salesman stated. The manager basically was willing to do nothing and reiterated that they do not negotiable price regardless of the FASLE misrepresented product. I was willing to spend more if they could work out something on the American made leather sofa I saw on the floor. Unfortunately, Steinhafels left me at a loss and it cost me $420 today. In summary, Slumberland might not be as flashy in appearance as Steinhafels but the deals are true, the pricing better, the quality just as good in like to like categories, and they will earn your business. read more

We purchased a leather loveseat and 2 leather chairs, all power. Also purchased an entire sectional, chair and a half with 2 large ottomans...Spent ALOT. Delivery for the leather furniture was quick, however they scratched the furniture all up getting it down my stairs since they did not take the backs off, then left 1 of the power supply boxes different then the other 2. because it did not belong with our furniture. I reached out to my salesperson who was great and ordered me all new stuff. When that was set to come, delivery driver called me and said one of the chairs was damaged. So they came out with the sofa and 1 chair, and we then had to wait a few weeks for the remaining chair. Very annoying trying to make arrangements to be here 3 different times, plus I always tip the delivery drivers so it's costing me more money every time for their mistakes. My other furniture finally arrived, Delivery went smooth and I like the furniture. Last Sunday, we decided to go back into the store to buy a new rug for under the furniture. We picked one out and I paid and was told it would be in on Tuesday. I arranged someone with a van to pick up the rug on Wednesday. However, on Wednesday, my rug is not there. The lady I spoke to told me that it was pushed back until Dec. 7th. No one called or told me, and she explained there was a glitch in the system. No apology. nothing. I now can not put up my xmas tree because I need the rug her first since I have to move all this giant furniture to make room to get this rug underneath. I called several hours ago and asked to speak to a manager, was told they were all busy but would call me back. Has not happened. Just tried again, same thing. Today, I drove to Steinhafel's in Kenosha to purchase a bookcase. As luck would have it, they had one that fit my needs. It was on "final sale," and ready to go--or so I thought. I offered to buy it, but they did not want to let it go!?! The sales representative preferred that I order it from their Waukesha store and wait a few days for its arrival. I'm baffled by the fact that they are in the business of selling furniture, but did not want to sell this particular piece to me. They could easily have sold the bookcase, on the spot, made some money, and ordered another bookcase for themselves. We bought a king size bedroom set for our new home this summer. The delivery was a mess. Multiple deliveries were scheduled to arrange the delivery since they are unorganized. Meaning multiple days off of work. One of the delivery dates they never showed up, never called. Called customer service-- they couldn't reach the driver. No apology. Once we finally got the furniture, Within less than a month- the finish on the footboard began chipping. We contact Steinhafels- they refused to acknowledge there was a quality issue with the furniture. They then replaced the bed. Fast forward- less than 6 months later, the finish is chipping again. It appears the seams are popping and the finish chipping. Highly disappointed in the $5k spent on furniture. The Ashley furniture purchased in the past was much better quality. I wanted to like them and give a good review but they really fell apart at the customer service level. The initial purchase went well, the salesrep messed up once on the paperwork and put the wrong matress in but caught that before the sale was final. I loves the mattresses they found for me and my daughter, the delivery team was great and when our bed bases did not fit up the stairs they worked with us to change to bed bases that would fit up the stairs, again that went well. Where it fell apart is when they owed us a credit and when we needed to find out if the warranty we purchased would fit the new bases as this was a floor model. The salesperson put us off fpr weeks and said she was checking into whether we had a complete refund or whether the warranties applied. Finally I tried customer service and they said they needed to talk to the sales rep, no follow theough or callback. I then contacted pur sales rep who apologized and said she would look into it. Then she sent me an email apologizing and asking if she could call me. When she called all she did is make excuses and tell me why this was not her fault, STILL no info on if our warranty is valid or if our credit was complete. Based on this I decided not to buy additional furniture at the store like I had planned and I also have a friend who wanted the same setup and I will help her find another store with better customer service. Too bad because the initial wxperience was good but they fall apart at the follow through. I am extremely disappointed in Steinhafels customer support, products and warranties! Beware if your product comes with a warranty, be sure to keep the original receipt. They will not give you the warranty if you do not have the original receipt. The store will only have on record for seven years and then there is no proof of purchase. We bought a tempur-pedic mattress that has not held up, it was replaced the first time, but now having issues replacing it again (same exact thing is happening). We also bought a very expensive wood bedroom set which we are now seeing many of the seams coming apart. Poor quality! Poor customer support! Poor warranties! read more

Spend close to 20,000 dollars with them. One of the items purchased was a 100 percent leather power sofa. In less than year and half the leather began to discolor. I was just barley over the 1 year warranty and they wont do anything. I was told sitting may cause discoloration. What a joke. Placed order with Keith for couch and he was very pleasing to work with...when we contacted CSR about the multiple availability date changes we were informed they didn't know when it would be available, we could find something else or get a refund. We asked about free delivery as a possible resolution and the chat was ended without reason. When we contacted them again, it was a take or leave it attitude and Steinhafels would never give free delivery. Both CSRs were rude for no reason via chat. Contacted store directly to inquire of when we could actually receive product and was informed there was no labor and material available to create couch. Um we ordered in February, so basically funds were withdrawn for a product that wasn't even in production. I asked about free delivery once available and the lady agreed that would be acceptable. She verified our order number, name on the order, address and telephone number. She then informed us our order was updated to reflect free delivery as a courtesy and inconvenience. Fast forward to today and learned they won't stand behind it per CSR Beth as we were told no. I informed Beth we talked to the Kenosha store and advised that yes it was approved. No response. I Was asked to look at my couch before the delivery guys brought it in at the damage. Hard to find a salesperson then when we did he gave us a "snake oil salesmen" vibe. We did eventually find a mattress set that worked for us. Salesperson made quite a big deal out of our 'bargain'. Added extras to the sales quote which had to be taken off. Took two hours to get finished. Delivery when promised but old bedding wasn't taken away due to a soda stain. I have been a customer of Steinhafels for many years. Unfortunately, nothing good ever seems to last forever. Earlier this year we decided to give our Living Room a makeover with new furniture and an area rug to go with it. Based on our previous experiences, we went into Steinhafels Furniture in Oak Creek hoping to find what we were looking for. Since our Living Room is not very spacious and we needed an option without down because of medical reasons, our choices for a sectional were very limited which truly wasn't an issue. The employee who helped us was able to find an option that although very expensive met our dimensions and looks very well constructed, made here in the USA. What did bother me was that a lot of their options or at least the ones we were looking at were considered special orders. A very polite way of saying that it takes many weeks for the items you purchased to arrive. Ultimately, we liked our choice and decided to deal with the wait. One day after I called to check on the status of our purchase, we were informed that our items had been at the store and were ready for delivery so we picked a date and waited anxiously for the delivery. We were never given a reason as to why we didn't get a call to let us know our pieces had arrived. We picked the option of having the pieces placed on our porch since I knew I could handle it from there and truth be told was a cheaper option than the full service one. What surprised me was that when the truck arrived there was only one young man in it who didn't seem very capable of unloading our pieces by himself. As I attempted to come by him and help him, he tried taking one of the pieces off the truck by himself which caused the fabric under the sectional to rip. As I pointed out what had just happened, he gave me an option of waiting several days for a replacement which I refused. He then went to Waukesha and got me a replacement a few hours later. As soon as we got everything inside, we started noticing feathers and carpet strands around our Living Room floor. The pillows which came with the sectional are filled with down and the feathers are poking through and out of them. On top of that, the strands from the new area rug have been coming off as well. I called Steinhafels and spoke with one of the managers to express my disappointment and hopefully find a solution but all he could tell me was that the company that made the sectional only filled their pillows with down and that they couldn't replace the pillows with other pillows from a different company. He said that my options were to get other pillows on my own and he offered me a $50 credit for the inconvenience. Truth be told, I dont even know if I got the credit or not. As far as the area rug, I was told to continue vacuuming it and that it would stop losing its strands after a couple of weeks. It has been several months and I'm still finding feathers and strands all over the first floor and my son can't use the pillows to prevent an allergic reaction. I finally called them and stated that I was ready to come to the store with one of the pillows and the rug so they could see personally the mediocre quality of these items but the lady who answered told me they would send an employee to our house to investigate instead. I didn't know at what time this person was coming until I received a call from him about 30 minutes prior to his arrival. He pulled a few strands himself, saw the feathers all over the place, took a few pictures and left. Now I received an email stating that if I want, they can rewrap the pillows to hopefully stop the feathers from coming through and that the carpet losing its strands is normal wear. I guess it is normal for new carpets to lose their strands constantly or maybe just the ones from Steinhafels. It is sad when a company gets so big that they forget who got them there and how to treat them. People like me, customers who deserve to be treated with respect and care. I guess, if my name was Steinhafels like in the TV commercials, then maybe I would be treated like family. Time to look for another store. read more

Recently made a purchased ay Steinhafels for a $6,000. sectional. After delivery I decided to order 2 consoles and a set of nestling tables. These purchases were made per phone and could not be added to my original form of payment. Unless I physically came into store and signed for them. Living over 100 miles round trip this was not feasible with gas prices. I put the two consoles on my charge card which were then paid in full.. I was told of a May delivery date. Now they have bumped up delivery date to October? I also ordered a set of nestling tables. I have a balance due of $150.00 which I have been paying $50.00 a paycheck to pay this off.. These are 'suppose to be in mid June. Three months from now.. I received a call from Steinhafels that they won"t even place my above order until the full balance is paid, even though the two consoles are completely paid for. They want their money up front 3-6 months in advance and can't even give you a specific delivery date? I would also like to give them a ZERO rating at this time if I could. This to me is being a money hungry retailer. Very disappointed with Steinhafels at this time. All the money I have spent in your store and you are worrying about $150 for merchandise that is 3/6 months out yet with no confirmed delivery date? December 16th (Over a month later) I finally get a call stating that my furniture would be delivered between 5-7pm. It is currently 7:20 pm and I still haven't received my furniture. While I love their huge selection of recliners, am very disappointed in the warranty. I special ordered 2 recliners in fabric of my choice. Loved them. But, within 6 months the fabric on the underside of the recliner began to tear away. I called them as I paid for that extra warranty. It took an act of Congress to finally have someone come out to fix it. A man with his little hand sewing kit showed up. He hand stitched it. Lasted about 2 months. The problem is the fabric was not cut large enough from the very beginning. I sew, so I do know what I'm talking about. Tried to get them to come back. Never happened. Apparently that extra warranty is only good for one visit whether they fix it or not. I guess the product they sell is only as good as their warranty. Very frustrating. The recliners are lazy boy. We bought a dresser, arrived with a crack in it, called and told them, had us bring it in just to tell us a tech could have gone to the house!! I am completely done with Steinhafels. I bought a recliner there 4 years ago and paid for an extended warranty. The chair seat and leg padding is completely broken down already. Apparently, the company, "Southern Motion" used low quality padding for the chair. I am not a big person and feel this chair lost it's comfort prematurely. The warranty I paid for is for 5 years, and I have just been informed that there is nothing they can do to re-pad the chair. This is the Guardsman Company. So, folks, buy from a cheaper furniture store, that way, when you have to replace a piece of furniture, you will be saving yourself money. And DO NOT buy any warranties! Went furniture shopping locally in Evanston/Skokie but did not find any good quality or service. Sales people didn't know where their own furniture was in their store. Daughter remembered Steinhafels in Kenosha WI. Waited to go until after Christmas on the 28th of December. We were greeted by a pleasant individual by the name of Keith Coggins. He knew exactly where the items were in the store and most importantly he was not "pushy". He wanted to be sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Took me to see mattresses but too expensive, so he continued showing more & then wrote down my 1st choice, which was #3. Then off to loveseats & again on #3 bought exactly what I wanted. I finally needed a full size bed but had only 1 choice in adult section which I did not like. He suggested to go in the children's department & once again on #3 got what I was looking for. Only exception was I was looking only for a bed but ended up purchasing the entire 5 piece set as they were having such a great sale & delivery charge would be the same. In 1 hour we were done & off to Texas Roadhouse. I would highly recommend anyone looking for furniture to go see Keith. He will treat you right, not sell you anything you don't like, and again not a pushy individual just to get a sale/commission. My husband and I thought that we finally found the perfect furniture store-large selection, family-owned,etc but we were wrong. We spent a very long time searching for the perfect sectional for our home and finally found it at Steinhafels. Everything was fine until after we paid for the couch and tried to set up delivery. The delivery options are not conducive for working families plus they have limited days in which they deliver to our area which was not told to us prior to purchasing. The customer service number that they provide has employees answering the phone who are not helpful and difficult to work with. One time I asked to speak with a supervisor to help solve the problem that we were having with delivery and was told that she was going to call me back in 5 minutes but I never heard back from her. We special ordered an ottoman that was going to be delivered after the couch arrived, and we then too had many, many problems with setting up delivery once it was ready. We eventually had to drive back to the store to pick it up ourselves (even though we had already paid for the delivery). When we got there, the dimensions of the ottoman were different that was listed in the store so it is shorter than the couch. When discussing this with the manager, Brad, he became extremely rude, loud, and even had to be asked by myself and my husband to stop yelling at me. Definitely not a way to treat customers, especially by what is expected from a family owned company. He was not helpful in coming up with a solution with the problem of the wrong dimensions of the ottoman, so eventually we left and I contacted one of the company's owners who refunded some of the ottoman to us. This is the first time I've ever wrote a bad review but I feel I need to to worn people to not trust this company. We bought a 5k couch and it started pilling about 2months after we purchased it. Had a service tech come to the house and they told us to take a sweater shaver to the couch we called customer service and talked to management and got the same bs. WORST customer service! Bought a recliner couch for around $1000 the material ripped in under a week also the cushion was easily pushed under the springs. we got the"guardsman" plan but they wouldn't fix it because we said it was from the dog jumping on the couch.(which we weren't even sure of) the only reason it got fixed was because the back of the recliners were defective and tore the material when reclined . Zipper broke on one cushion right away. I watched the repairman replace the cushion, he tore the material like it was paper. When I saw the inside it was unbelievably shoddy. Just poorly manufactured. And was not surprised that it was made in China. After being told they made their own furniture. It took three months to fix it because the parts came from overseas. There is nothing stopping the cushion from being pushed thru the spring which seems to be permanently damaged now. The repairman tacked some plastic straps on it because he told me my warranty was no good now because they replaced the parts. They replaced the two reclining ends, it was the middle cushion that sank under the spring that he "fixed" with straps and said don't worry, I won't charge you for that!!!! Less than a week later and it's sinking under the springs again. Other than that, the place ROCKS!!!! LOL. You'd have to have rocks in your head to do business with this place ever!! read more

Had to really argue with them about getting chair replaced & not repaired that came damaged. wait & see if next one comes delivered undamaged. There should have been no question about replacing brand new damaged chair. read more

I bought a couch for $1700 a few years back. I was talked into buying the Guardsman protection plan. We had a baby and there were milk stains over the years. When we washed one of the cushion covers it ripped trying to put it back over the cushion. We called Guardsman to find out if our plan was still in effect. They said yes, until October, this was April, and they asked if something happened. We said, yes a cushion ripped, they said "we will cover that". Never did they say that they would document that phone call and start a 10 day countdown for us to fill out paperwork on the rip. When we reported the rip with the paperwork in September they came back and said they wouldn't cover our rip because we waited too long to report the accident. We contacted Steinhafels and they said they would report our issue to their lie-son which worked between the 2 companies, we were never called back. We called again and they guy we talked to couldn't help us, but said he would check to see if they had the fabric, he never called back. We went to Steinhafels and the manager said he couldn't do anything for us, except send out a repair technician. This guy shows up and stitches the rip together, that held for about 7 days. We went back to use our Guardsman rebate and were told we couldn't use it on repair fabric. Then we tried to use it on some lamps and they said we couldn't use it on accessories. I told them they could shove that Guardsman rebate up their asses. We will never be back. read more

Worst service ever! Not only did I wait 20 min for service, the service I recieved was terrible! I had 4 salesmen pass me over. No one even greeted me. I had to find someone, and when I did they were not knowledgable on the product. The salesman would not pitch me a bed over $1500 even after I told him that I could afford it, and when I asked to see a Tempurpedic he told me straight out that I couldn't afford it. Again, I can. He also told me the the Tempur weightless was named thusly because it is a light mattress. In actuality, it is named a weightless because it gives the used the benifit of not feeling as though they are sinking into the mattress, ie you float on top of the memory foam as if you were weightless. They also repeatedly tried to sell me their brand after I told them I was not interested. Dreams is a terrible mattress and I want nothing to do with it, nor help that persons paycheck by buying a high margin bed. Just terrible terrible service! The manager was shot with me as well, and in a hurry to get rid of me. Needless to say, I didn't purchase from them, and instead went to Mattress Firm down the road.
