After reading many positive reviews online I decided to give Stellar a try. Everybody was friendly in the office and the provided me a loaner while looking at my Mazda 3. I needed to have my o2 sensor and front speed sensor replaced. I had quotes from two different parts stores for 150 on the o2 sensor and 50 on the front speed sensor. Stellar wanted to charge me 355 and 100 for the two parts. I understand the shop needs to make money and I was willing to pay a markup on the parts as all shops do, but I left feeling like they were trying to take advantage of me. On top of that I had to pay 120 dollars to get my car back with no repairs done. read more

My car broke down on the side of the road and I had it towed 14 miles away to Stellar because they have always done great work on my car. It turns out I needed a new alternator and a little over haul as my 10 year old car just hit 85,000 miles. My car now runs like new. Jay called me a couple times to discuss the issues and he was really respectful of the fact that I work nights and he didn't call until I say I would be awake. I refer everyone to Stellar and will always choose to take my car a little further away to get their quality service. Over two weeks ahead of time, I set up an eight o'clock appointment to have my MB Sprinter codes scanned for ABS and Traction lights on. I was at there shop at 8 on the scheduled day. Was told I had to leave the vehicle as it would take 3 to 5 hours to run the codes. I told the desk person that this is a twenty minute job and I had made a schedule for 8am. No, she said it takes 3 to 5 hrs. I was traveling with my motorhome and didn't have that much time to sit and wait. That's why I made an 8am app. I saw one mechanic ?? come in wearing flip flops and another ?? one arrive at 8:15. I left and I would not recommend this bussiness. read more

Had a great visit at Stellar Autoworks. Was driving last week when a dash light came on, warning of low oil. I swung into Stellar and they immediately added an additional quart of oil. Was due for a change, so I scheduled an appointment with Jason. They got me in the next day and completed the oil change and completed their safety inspection. Needed a couple of filters. Jason ordered the parts and I stopped by and they popped them in. The work was completed quickly and efficiently and for the price I was orginally quoted. I feel like I can trust this group because when I take my car in for service, they are upfront about the steps they will take, what they're looking for, and what they recommend after assessment. Had to bring my Mercedes GL450 in for repairs in December. They were able to give me a loaner car that was very nice and I was able to keep it while parts were ordered for my car. Every time we called for an update, they were so nice and thoroughly explained every step they were taking. I HIGHLY recommend Stellar. Outstanding service!! read more

After bringing our car in for brakes, we received a really detailed Sales pitch (inspection report) for additional work that we didn't want, or need. These guys said our oil needed to be changed (was last changed 2700 miles ago with mobile1 synthetic and filter) and that it was dirty, we needed new tires all around (high profit margins for them to reap). They said we needed rotors and pads all around. They said the rear brakes only had 1-2 weeks left on them, when there is about 0.375" of meat on the pads ( I did the rear myself), which is enough for about a year. The quote came back around $2k. Remember, all we really needed were brakes. After a lot of back and forth they agreed to do the front pads and rotors for $600. Pads are $23-$50 for a set depending on grade. Rotors are $50-$100. So we're talking about $130 in parts, and about $440 in labor. This place is exactly what you are hoping to AVOID, an up-sell on unnecessary work that you just don't need. Hasn't this industry changed at all? No? This is why I'm writing this review :) If you are are not mechanically inclined, find a mechanically inclined friend to help you review their recommendations, or better yet, go somewhere else. A lot of BS and lies from this place. The work done appeared to be done properly. read more

First time I went in they changed my bulb for free. Second time, my car was making a terrible racket and driving my wife bonkers. Estimated cost of repairs was $1000+ at the dealership. Stellar patched it up for $180 without replacing the part. They also did a thorough inspection and notified me of future maintenance that needed to be done. They have always exceeded my expectations by conducting repairs on short notice and having a loaner car available. Looking at the other customer's reviews and I have to strongly disagree with all of them. Our experience with Sellar Autoworks was very negative. We took our car for repairs with check engine and battery warning lights on and poor engine starting. They didn't check the alternator nor the battery at all and proceeded to replace ECU directly. They also put a new battery to remedy the battery warning light issue, which happened without our authorization . They charge us $800 dollars. One week later the same problems start reappearing. After careful inspection of the car engine compartment, we noticed that some parts around the battery are also missing. Later we questioned the owner about all of these issues and he confirmed that they didn't test the alternator nor the battery because from his experience the issues were related to ECU unit and that's what they replaced, plus the battery they didn't tell us about. We requested the money back. The owner refused and accuse us of blackmail. I should of check their reputation in advance because there were some other customers complaining about similar issues to BBB. Later we took the car to another car shop, they replaced the alternator and ever since we didn't have the problem come back. Simple as that. Never going back to this place. read more

Brought my car here because of my passenger side tire rod never got fixed from the techs at plymouth village auto, these guys discovered that my inner threads on the adjustment sleeve were indeed stripped and need to be replaced, they even brought me back in there shop to see the problem which was a plus, I ended up paying only$145.00 with a free alignment and $75.00 cheaper than Plymouth Village Auto, and they have their own alignment rack, so you dont have to get your car shipped across town on a tow truck for an alignment which would have cost me 80 bucks, these guys did it for 50 bucks. RIP OFF ARTISTS! I brought my Infiniti truck in for a full assessment of what was wrong with my vehicle, and had a long list of items I wanted checked, and fixed as well which included checking my transmission. They found my transmission fluid was 3 quarts low, but did not bother to find out why it was leaking. I was told that my transmission now shifted fine and there were no problems, and I left there with a 2 grand bill for my trunk actuator (which they tried to charge me 15% above dealer retail price before I caught them by calling Infiniti dealer), and emergency brake pads. Mind you I wanted a full assessment so I could know if I should sell the truck or not; and 4 months and less than 1,000 miles later on my truck and this is what is now wrong with it...my transmission has gone out completely ($5k), my front U-Joint on my drive-shaft is so bad its not safe to drive which again was like that when I brought to stellar and didn't happen in 4 months (200$), gauge cluster needs replacement (800$), power steering pump lines needs replacement (350$), license plate light assembly is out (200$). The list goes on with what Stellar did not find when they did there sub-par inspection of my vehicle. They even let me leave with my front headlight out, and they had ample time to fix as they had it for a week at least. Bottom line, they let me leave with a vehicle that was totally not safe to drive, with a bunch of problems they're mechanics did not have the experience, or take the time to diagnose. Owner Tim offered me 2k if I would bring back to Stellar for repairs, which I declined as his estimate was 2 grand above even the dealership price! NEVER TRUST THEM! read more
