Neither coupon was expired dated 4/17/26. The manager wouldn't honor the coupon, stated "he wasn't computer techs". lol. Just BEWARE this dome type of gimmick to go and get your oil change for more business. Not on the location it self, but Valvoline over all. I went back online to the Valvoline site and started a chat. LOL The representative hurried to end the chat, stating no such coupon could be found. I sent her a screen shot of it, snd Asked which location accepted it. Again, she hurried me off of the chat, and stated she couldn't find a location. So, I asked why are you listing coupons, if you're not honoring them ‼ Her again hurried me off the chat and ignored the question and stated, " is there anything else I can help you with". I don't have specialty tools and have to borrow or head to O'Reilly Auto Parts (did you know O'Reilly's has a tool rental program? To rent tools from your local O'Reilly Auto Parts, simply purchase the auto parts you need and put down a deposit on the rental tool. Return the rental tool in its original condition and receive a full refund when you bring it back.) Regardless, Skip's has been my go-to for auto work. Sometimes I don't have the time (or focus or room) or I'm in over my head. They will suss out the problem and do the work at a competitive (it used to be *too* low) shop rate. Apparently it's a different company now. I brought my car in to replace a purge valve. It's a busy time of year for a lot of us, and I was willing to pay to get it done. I walked in and explained the issue. They asked for a diagnostic fee. I had a flashback to my local auto repair shop where I had an ignition coil out and it wound up costing $1,800 total for a 15-minute, top-of-the-motor, single-bolt, $75-dollar-part coil replacement. Which I have done twice since with a ratchet and a $75 coil. I left and changed the purge valve myself. 30 minute, top-of-the-motor, single-10mm-bolt replacement of a $55 part. And now I'm back on the road. I'll stop back, but I'm not so sure I like the way things are going.

This business has now been purchased by Golden Valkey Tire. I brought my personal vehicle here right after the transition, before I realized what was different. I had a fine experience and got quoted slightly above competitors for some repairs. The experience was reasonable overall, although I did feel like everyone behind the front desk was really judging me for not wanting to proceed with some repair options that I were presented to me. I came back a few weeks later with company vehicles since my employer had used this place in the past, and the vibe had deteriorated so much more. This truly is a Golden Valley Tire owned operation and it's not good. Things went wrong from the scheduling of the appointment. The person on the other end of the line was completely fumbling through the system and muttering to himself. He couldn't figure out how to get things to save even. Of course he didn't tell me that though, so when I showed up there was no appointment. I gave them the simple instruction to give the vehicle an oil change so that it would be ready to pick up later. They emailed me a full inspection report which was thorough and detailed, but guess what? They didn't do the oil change. I guess they wanted some sort of approval, but it was a busy work day and if I tell them it's the only reason for my visit I expect it to get done and the vehicle to be ready when I come to pick it up. This place is a mess right now. I hope they can find a way to improve, I understand transitions can be hard, but...proceed with caution if you're considering being a customer here.

I had a terrible experience there recently…read more During my visit, when the inexperienced (young, untrained, under paid, careless) worker went to open the air filter box with a drill driver, they got three of the four bolts halfway out before stripping the Philips head on the bolts. Even after they were obviously stripped, they just kept at it like it was going to eventually grab. I watched all this from the driver seat. When they finally gave up, they used that same drill driver to try to screw the stripped bolts back in. That didn't work and they just left the bolts halfway out without saying anything to me. Then, when they said I was ready to leave, I asked if they checked the tires. The answer was no. They also never checked the lights and blinkers like they usually do. I let that slide. I didn't trust them anyway. After leaving the facility on Hwy 55 in Plymouth, I noticed the check engine light came on. After doing some research, I found that it could be due to overfilling with oil. I checked the oil and, sure enough, it was 1.5 quarts high. I took the truck back to the facility and got in line. Called the place from the line and asked for the manager. I was told he was too busy. Then walked up to talk to him and once again told, he was too busy. I waited an hour and 15 minutes to finally get in the building. While waiting, I called the corporate office to let them know what I was experiencing. They called the manager and told him I was waiting for the situation to be corrected. When I got in the service bay, they checked the oil and found it way too high. They drained out the extra oil and told me to leave. The manager never even tried to discuss any of this with me. Not a word. No apology. Nothing. It's ridiculously expensive to use the type of service that VIOC provides. And there's no "service" or accountability in any of this. My recommendation; steer clear of these places. Take the time to make an appointment at a reputable service station or dealer. You will be treated well, and you will have trained technicians working on your vehicle. It'll cost less too. Win-win situation.

He filled the van with freon but failed to find the leak and said to bring it back if there were more problems. When I went to pick up the van it was undriveable as antifreeze was leaking from the van (it never had leaked before). John refused to take responsibility for the leak and said the radiator must have failed coincidentally while they were working on it. The van had work 4 weeks earlier and John suggested that it was probably damaged four weeks earlier when I had the struts replaced with a different mechanic. I think that's ridiculous that antifreeze would just start leaking four weeks later when they happen to be working on it. I had questions but did not pursue the issue further and had to pay for a new radiator. The freon continued to leak and I brought it in 3 more times over the summer for the same issue. On September 26th I brought the van in in the morning for the 3rd time and John called back at 3:00 pm told me we'd have to reschedule as they were too busy, even though I had an appointment, and my van had been there all day (cost me $25 in Uber fees for no reason) 10/3/25, I returned for my 4th and final appointment to have the AC leak repaired. After a full day, John explained that they found the leak finally, but that they still would not be able to fix it that day as they needed parts, and he suggested that I get the parts myself as it would be cheaper. I had the feeling John was unable to deal with this issue and was blowing me off. I asked John if he would fill the freon again, as after 4 failed attempts and paying $200 to fix the issue, it was still blowing warm air. John became angry and suddenly hung up on me! I was taken aback and called him back immediately. I said we must have been cut off, and he said stated: "No, I hung up on you, and to be honest I really don't ever want to do business with you again". He said I blamed them for the radiator leak earlier in the year (even though I really hadn't and dropped the issue that day). He said he'd fill the freon again but to never come back! I did get upset and raised my voice and expressed my displeasure with his total incompetence, and rude behavior. I picked up my van that day and the issue I paid for (leaking AC) remains unresolved to this day. I don't think it was unreasonable to ask for freon again, considering the circumstances. I've never been so insulted before in dealing with a business. I suggest you just go to another place for service on your vehicle and save the hassle or risk similar incompetence and rude behavior. (Note: The other "technicians", were very kind, professional, and nice people. John clearly was the problem) Post Owner Response addition) 1st: I dropped my van off in the AM, John, your rude incompetent manager called me AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE and told me the antifreeze started leaking AFTER THE WORK! I didn't stay there during repairs and the van WAS NOT leaking and never had prior to dropping it off 6 hours earlier with your worthless and incompetent workers. So let's put that nonsense to rest NOW. 2nd: I paid you to find an AC leak. Your idiots are too incompetent to do that so they just kept refilling it (3 times total after 4 trips) because had you fixed it the 1st time, you wouldn't have had to refill the Freon an additional 2 times RIGHT ? I suggest you and your incompetent boys find another line of business, and that customers find somewhere else.

I am not going back there again. While I like the guys there, they gouge my wallet big time. I went in for a noise in the front end. I needed wiper blades and wanted them to check why my turbo gauge was not working, the mirror and rear defrosters were not working well, and my intermittent wipers did not work "intermittently". I also had a TPMS sensor failure on the left rear, which I knew about but never mentioned until they called and told me. I already knew, so no need for a replacement, as I plan to get new tires in the summer with new sensors. So for each one of those things, they wanted a $160 diagnosis fee at the end. 5 diagnostic fees totaling over $ 700. WHAT?! After my surprise and anger, they cut the diagnosis fees to 1/2 hour each and removed the TPMS sensor one. Woot Woot! I ended up with a total or $330 in diagnosis fees. Still too much as I knew about all of these things and they needed NO diagnosis, except maybe the wipers and Turbo Gauge. However, the gauge was working and evidenced by them starting the truck and revving it up. Must have been the -21 degrees that caused it that day. But $80 for that. The wiper intermittency was a setting on the dash for a rain sensor. I must have changed it at some point not knowing. $80? Brake inspections and front suspension inspections are usually free. I used to manage and work at Firestone and Tires Plus auto centers. Another $80? The used a Thermal camera to check defrosters. Mirrors were working and rear was 1/2 working. Cold weather again? No quotes or repairs, just $80 again. I guess they actually did something here. OK. I had told them the noise (humming) was likely a Caliper sticking. It was. They said both were sticking. Not likely, but possible. They were not very old. You should always do brakes and other things in the front end in pairs. They could have just said that, and I would have agreed. Brake jobs in my experience were about $500 per axel, which did not include calipers. I am sure more like $600 now. Calipers will add about $300 for the pair. Yeah, I am thinking $800. Nope $1300! They also did a brake fluid exchange instead of just bleeding the new calipers and adding a few ounces of fluid. $215.00, which is already part of the 1300. This normally would mean exchanging all fluid in all lines and all calipers, including the master cylinder. NOPE. rears were not touched. So I am guessing a manual bleed and an ounce or 2 of fluid. Not very happy VIP customer here. I would have paid $1100 for all this, but Not $1724..56! So, in my mind, it should have been about $1000 for the brake job in total, $30 for Wiper Blades (they charged me $47 - OK I guess), and maybe a total 0f $80 for inspections/diagnosis. Maybe $100. Labor of $857, Parts of $758, plus a $38.20 Shop Supplies fee (kind of a standard, but $38 - really, guys?) - add taxes and you get the $1724. This is about a 4-hour job in my mind. been around this stuff all my life. $210/hour labor? I know the parts were under $400, their cost as well. Likely $300. I did approve a $1300 quote over the phone. WOW. 1724? Be careful guys. Very pricy here and Honest should not be in their name.
