I scheduled a cleaning and took time off work, driving 30 minutes to get there, only to be told upon arrival that I needed X-rays and an exam before the cleaning--and that they might not even have time to do the cleaning! This kind of bait-and-switch approach is unacceptable. If these prerequisites were necessary, they should have been communicated at the time of scheduling. It feels like they're more interested in upselling unnecessary procedures than respecting patients' time and needs. These chain dentists are nothing but a scam. My husband got temporary and permanent dentures made at the Union Rd. office in August 2023. First we were given a very hard time about even getting temporary dentures because a receptionist decided to debate us about our insurance coverage then when the permanent set was made he was only given the top and never got the bottom partial. Now 2 years later, the day before Thanksgiving, 2 teeth fell out of the top permanent denture while he was eating bread. Stellar can't do repairs onsite so we had to go somewhere else. Today another tooth fell out on the other side. The least they could do is have a lab onsite if they are going to use subpar materials. Years ago they made me a bottom partial that I was never able to comfortably wear because during adjustments they never listened to what the actual complaint was. I was a patient for many years and unfortunately do not feel comfortable trusting them anymore. read more

Disturbingly terrible appointment. It began with having to wait an hour for a 9am appointment to experience a traumatizing tooth extraction for my toddler. Despite expressing great concerns to their team about my daughter's fear of the dentist they completely disregarded my wishes at the last minute and performed what felt like an unethical and inhumane procedure. Mind you this is her second tooth extraction due to previous trauma, and I've been in the veterinary medical field for 17 years; we treat our dogs with better care than they did my kid. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you dislike that person. Zero stars. read more

Horrible!! Very unprofessional office staff!! They Scheduled my original appointment time for a different time without my knowledge. When I received a text with a different time called them about it and spoke with Renee who was insistent and basically called me a liar for saying they didn't schedule the time when I had the original text confirmation the appointment. This was an appointment that was scheduled in July and here it is October and she's basically telling me after realizing it was rescheduled for another time without my knowledge..oh well we can cancel and reschedule for the next available appointment in June 24' or you can come to the appointment time that was set up without your knowledge... I can't believe we live in America. My daughter's silver teeth moved and my daughter cannot eat due to the severity of the pain. I called the clinic and they informed me of an emergency appointment in a week. I leave the child without eating for a week. I took the child to the emergency room and they informed me that they do not do anything for her teeth. I ask any sane person to inform me what to do. read more

I actually go to the one in Blasdell and have for years. Lately, they like to call me and tell me they have to reschedule my appointment CONSTANTLY. My insurance pays for two cleanings a year... I'm lucky if I get one. I haven't been there since August, through no fault of my own. I had an appointment scheduled earlier this year, which they cancelled at the LAST MINUTE because they overbooked themselves. And they couldn't reschedule me until SIX MONTHS LATER. For a CLEANING. What do they do when an emergency comes up???? Now I've gotten a call that they have to reschedule THAT appointment because they're "going to their summer hours" and won't be open then. What does that even mean???? If your place has summer hours, then why are you scheduling people for the SUMMER outside of those hours? My next appointment that's scheduled, assuming it's not to go be rescheduled again- because it most likely will, is OVER A YEAR after my last appointment. That is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. You have to be the worst business I have ever dealt with. This is not the first time this has happened- you've don't the SAME THING to me before. Together with: having yo wait over an hour after my appointment time, being charged the wrong amount and billed later, trying to do a procedure on me that was unnecessary and you didn't discuss ahead of time (thank God I pay attention! And yes it WAS unnecessary- because it had already been done the previous year), illegally putting the wrong doctor information about who worked on me, and that one time they claimed I was a no show and called my house WHEN I WAS SITTING IN THEIR WAITING ROOM STARING AT THEM... I really don't know why I still do business with these people. I'm starting to think I'd rather deal with teeth rotting out of my head than deal with them. I called today June 16, 2021 at 11:34am and was treated extremely rudely by the woman who answered the phone. I made a request for an emergency appointment and was told I would not be able to come in until NOVEMBER. After explaining the seriousness of my dental issue including several broken teeth, constant pain and inability to eat, I was told November. 6 MONTHS FROM NOW. Clearly they have no empathy whatsoever and I will look elsewhere. After having to ask if there was a waiting list, I was told they don't "have a crystal ball." I like many others am afraid of the dentist. I anticipate pain and become anxious. So, I only go when I have to, and I wait until something bad happens. Another one of my teeth broke, so I went here to get it fixed. They were all so very nice and helped me a lot. They told me I am grinding my teeth really bad, contributing to my broken teeth. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called, and got me an appointment to get tooth pulled the next day. I even decided to make an appointment for a future cleaning, and I never do that. I'm never gonna be able to give a dental practice a five star rating, but this one comes close. I have no pain tolerance and I have a doctor phobia for sure (I guess who doesn't to some extent). I also don't have dental insurance, but that is something Stellar is really accommodating with. They have first time patient specials and also a discount program. You get two cleanings a year, one is free, the other (with exam and X-rays) is $79. I was (over)due for the $79 visit, so I begrudgingly made my appointment. The check-in process was within 15 minutes (not too long of a wait but oddly enough they texted me to ask me if I was running late, odd cause I was sitting in their waiting room.....) until I was greeted by one of their friendly dental hygienists. (sorry, I forgot her name) She did a very thorough and mostly gentle cleaning of my teeth and expressed the importance of flossing (I'm awful at doing it, but I intend to get into the habit of it). The doctor then came in (also very nice) and did the exam. (Guess what, no cavities!) They ended up sending me home with a bunch of dental goodies and an appointment was made for another 6 months. Whole process took about an hour, I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't have insurance and/or with a dental phobia, if I can get through an appointment, anyone can! read more

Awesome went here for a cleaning and check up since I needed one. They have no paper forms to fill out its on a computer which is easier at least for me. Very professional and thorough with cleaning found I had some work to be done. They sent in a referral at the end of my appointment for some work I need done on my mouth very good and efficient. read more

I have been a patient of Stellar Dental for just over a year and I have to say they are just wonderful. From the front office to the hygienists, to the dentists, everyone is friendly and professional. Yesterday I had my first apppointment for my crown and Dr. Bolger was not only patient with me but also kind and caring. I had bad experiences as a child going to dentists so I never look forward to any dental work other than a cleaning. Additionally, it is wonderful to see a medical office be totally up-to-date in 2018. No paper forms - everything is digital. I cannot say enough great things about Stellar. read more

I was traveling and had severe tooth pain. I called, obviously with no appointment, and they told me to come right in. Checked me out, and said I had two options. 1 was more invasive and more expensive, but they suggested i do the cheaper method. They also gave me copies of the x-rays, in case the problem wasn't resolved. The pain went away, and they fixed the problem. Thank you!!!! read more

High quality service, professional and friendly. Heather was my Dental Hygienist she is FANTASTIC! She was polite, gentle, and informative in explaining her every move. Her schooling and teaching she received at ECC North prepared her well. I had not been to a dentist in 5 years, she made the wait worth it. I have clean, polished teeth YEAH! I will be returning for fillings, I hope my experience with the doctor is the same. I'll let you know. One suggestion that will enhance the experience is changing the location of the computers from the waiting area to a more secluded area. Tuesday night, drinking water, I lose a crown. Sometimes bad things happen in life. Its part of life. My history with teeth...a nightmare. So I call my friend, who is a dental hygienist, & she recommended Stellar Dental & the bonus? They take my dental insurance! So I call the next morning & I get an appointment for that afternoon...as in the.same.day! Unheard of. I arrive, fill out the usual paper work & I am called in. Really? What happened to the usual long wait? (Apparently that doesn't happen here.) The examination room is clean, bright, New & has.a.flat.screen...tuned into a show that I would actually watch! I know, you may think it's unnecessary & who's paying for all those flat screens, but trust me....dentists make me crazy so the diversion was very welcome! Anyway, after a small x-ray & a panoramic x-ray it was determined I needed the root pulled...ugh! My next appointment was in ...two.days, not two weeks!!! (really? Are.you.kidding.me?)the surgery to remove my root went off without a hitch...for once. No stitches and I had my flipper the.same.day! They called me the day after to see how I was doing & I'm happy to report two things. 1. They were awesome, Knowledgeable & caring Professionals who took you ON TIME. 2. Their fees are VERY reasonable And they take all kinds of Insurance. I have never had such a good experience at the dentist! So you can be sure that I will be a "regular" at this dentist office.
