Haven't been here in Forever, my grandfather used to take me here when I was a kid. This place is still as awesome as I remember it. Good food and cold beer also, huge plus. I read other Yelp reviews and the food was mentioned, it certainly didn't disappoint. Had a hotdog, fries, and beer, pretty damn tasty. Not bad on price either, and most noteworthy was this place has Vienna beef hotdogs, a Chicago staple. 5 stars all day, because it's hard to beat 12 batting tokens for $10. Stella's is a unique spot and if it were on say the north side of Chicago there would be a line out the door pretty much everyday. I used to come here as a kid mostly for the batting cages but the food was decent hot dogs burgers, mozzarella sticks nothing spectacular, now a whole different story. They revamped the menu and I've met the owners they are very nice, one if not both are chefs and the food is awesome! They even have maki's and they are perfect just like you would get them at a Japanese restaurant, soft shell crab, tempura ones fantastic, there quite a few different kinds. Then they have the usual Chicago dogs, beef, and pizza puffs etc.... the dog was good and the pizza puff was spot on. But the best things on the menu are their specialties the meatball sandwich is so delicious, and the Korean pork belly sandwich is amazing, tried the hot chicken sandwich recently and I loved it. Basically try everything on the specials menu their unique and you won't find these sandwich's everywhere, soft shell crab sandwich was my favorite thing there WOW. Italian ice is homemade too. Then of course there's batting cages and beer too how much better does it get, if your in the Riverside / Lyons/ Berwyn area, come here especially if your a foodie like me you'll thank me later....... read more

Best ballpark food you can find! Veggie dog was on point. And for $3 how can you go wrong? Soft shell crab sandwich was flavorful with the right amount of heat. French fries were cooked to perfection. My boyfriend said his Italian beef was super tasty. We both loved the lemon Italian ice as well! It was nice to play arcade games while you wait. They have slots as well if you're into that! Cannot wait to go back hit some balls and enjoy more scrumptious treats. read more

Good food, but no healthy options. We recently moved to Riverside and stopped at Stella's on a whim for a quick lunch. The food is good and a great value for the price. The staff is friendly. My husband likes to order their sliced beef sandwich and it is great. Since we don't live far, we have been back a few times in a few weeks. The low review is because you will not find any healthy food options at Stella's. It is very much a fast-food type of restaurant in that sense. Beats McDonald's thought. read more

The facility was kept in so so condition, not exactly the cleanest batting range. Had a variety of speeds for baseball and most of the cages have softball options as well. Their daily deal is $5 for 6 tokens, which is worth ten swings a piece. Equipment is available for free and inside has alcohol as well as food. There is an ATM there which charges about $4 dollars, which means you might as well not use it. The limit to using your credit card is $10 bucks so you are better off buying 12 tokens than getting cash out of the ATM unless you're in a jam. read more

The service is nice. The menu is baseball themed ballpark food. I'm going to base my review on the Korean BBQ sandwich. The sandwich itself was decent. I'm big on portions. I absolutely hate it when a business skimps on food. There was hardly any meat on my sandwich. Now if you are a light eater that might be ok but for a hungry man you would probably need to eat two of these sandwiches to feel full. I hope the new management here takes note. If I'm going to pay over 8.00 including tax I want to feel like I have eaten a hearty meal that is filling. read more

Absolutely the best batting cage around. Super friendly staff. Ability to use their premium bars so you don't bang is yours in a commercial batting cage and void your bats warranty. Excellent food, plus, you can enjoy a nice frosty beer. read more

This is our family's go-to takeout place for incredible sandwiches, fresh sushi rolls and poutine! We've had them all and none disappoint. When I first started working in the area, I was told that Stella's is an undiscovered gold mine for taste in fast food restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised and have been enjoying their food consistently. They are a small take-out or eat-in hot dog, Italian Beef, Pizza, and other delightful meal restaurant. Service is very fast from young and pleasant wait-staff, along with the adults who run the establishment. Always wanting to know if enjoyed their food, my constant return is a testament to the taste. One of my favorite items is the 1/2 lb corned beef sandwich. Also available in 1/4 lb, thinly sliced delicious pieces of corned beef are stuffed onto rye bread, french bread, or the bread of you choice. Included is a little container of home-made cole slaw, horseradish, mustard packets, and two giant dill pickle spears. That is a meal in itself! I rarely order French Fries, although delicious, crispy on the outside, and hot and tasty on the inside, I just can't finish everything! Italian Beef has a flavor of its own, and the Italian Sausage is one of the best I've tasted. If you're a batting fan, practice at their supervised cages, and enjoy the afternoon or evening at Stella's! They are so nice and helpful and the place is very clean! They offer different items on the menu other than just the usual hot dogs & Burgers. Stella's is such a fun place! My son loves it because he loves baseball. We honestly go multiple times a week! My 1 year old has actually points to it if we are nearby! They have awesome equipment! This is strictly about the food, not the batting cages. Haven't been to Stellas in ages and had a taste for corned beef. First impression walking in...clean! Very nice. But, the second feeling was "Why are there NO customers??" Weird. It was 1:45pm, between meals, so there is that. I was helped immediately. Here was the problem. The same person who rang me up and took my money...also prepared the food...with NO handwashing or gloves. That bothered me. Paper money and registers tend to be fairly filthy. Yet, my sandwich was very good. Along with it comes tiny containers of horseradish and coleslaw. Plenty to put on your sandwich. Also a couple packs of mustard. Fries were fresh, crispy and hot. If it wasn't for the handwashing/gloves business, this would be 5 stars. Hope they take it to heart about proper sanitation. read more

We heard good things about the new owners and the revamped food menu. After a few buckets of beer, batting cages, and tons of food we were very impressed. The food was amazing and we ordered almost everything on the special menu. Stella's is an indoor batting cage facility that has both fast pitch and softball. Since it is indoors you can practice comfortably in a controlled climate during Chicago's crazy weather. It has a fast food kitchen with all the usual treats like chili dogs and burgers...The place does get busy and sometimes an entire team will arrive and use the facility. So lesson be learned, going at off times works out best. Nice place. read more

Stella's is one of the best batting cages I've ever been to. Every staff member that works here is extremely accommodating. The food here is really, really good. The machines are well maintained. I low key want to keep this place a hidden gem but they deserve all the success and business that they can handle given how incredibly well run this place is. While Lyons might have changed a little, this place hasn't. This place can give you nostalgic vibes even if you haven't been there before. I don't care for batting cages but, you can get away with spending $5 for a beef and fries and they have great homemade ice. ($1.60 8 oz., $2.25 12 oz., 2.80 pint, $5.25 quart) What would win you over about this place is its location along the Des Plaines river and the nice houses on the Riverside side. Love this place, great place in the burbs to get in some at bats in there batting cages, they have a small resturant inside but trust me everyone is there to bat, plus when you get tired of swinging the bat you can always go across the street and go fishing in the river! read more

I haven't been here in quite a few years, but they have a good number of cages which ensure not too long of a wait. They also have a (small) selection of helmets you can wear if you don't have one of your own handy. Their "arcade" is nothing to brag about, and neither is the food, but they could definitely be worse. They're at nearly the perfect location, but if you're not watching as you're driving down Ogden, you'll drive past and never even know it. Overall, if you're in the surrounding area, Stella's is your best (and really, only) choice, but if you're willing to make a much longer drive, I'd look elsewhere. Stella's is cheap enough to get you coming back, but not good enough to hook you on anything other than price or location. read more

So my uncle lives near these batting cages and we come here often. The weekends can become busy at times but overall a great place. They have a small arcade center here which is cool but maybe if they added a few more it would be even better!! All in all of your going to hit balls they have it down. read more
