When I find hidden gems like Stella's Kitchen, it makes me appreciate my drive time for work so much more. It's located in a small, rundown looking building off Highway 1; if it wasn't for GPS, you'd easily miss it. The interior is beautiful though. Smells amazing (not sure if that was the candles for sale or the food). Very classy feel to it as soon as you walk in though. I decided to order the almond encrusted duck (appetizer) to go per a yelpers mouth-watering pic of it, and I'm so glad I did! It was scrumptious! The wait once I ordered was almost 30 minutes, so I definitely advise to call and order ahead. 10 people seating and 1 to go order that came before me. I was surprised to see a customer bring his pup in, but I guess I should have known based on all the pup pics on the walls here! When I mention this place is a hidden gem, it is literally a hidden gem in Napoleonville, Louisiana. The exterior of the building does not match the interior, BUT hey, I like surprises now. Was there for lunch. Food was delicious but the service was not good took over 1 hour to get salad and entree was 30 minutes later. If you go make sure you have plenty of time and enough to talk about with your table because you will be there for ever!!!! Having to wait so long really makes you not enjoy the food. read more

I was in Napoleonville and decided to try this restaurant- it was so good! I live an hour away, but I will be back to try some other items. I had the Grilled Shrimp Sensation Salad- the dressing was so tasty as well as the shrimp- the whole thing was delicious! It is well worth the drive, clean restaurant, very friendly staff- we got there about a half hour before they closed for the break between lunch and dinner and offered to take the food to go- they would not let us- we did not feel rushed at all and the waitress was extremely nice. The food is pretty good if you don't mind waiting for it. Salads delivered over an hour after seating, and the entrees over 2 hours.

The menu has so much to explore. This was our first time there and loved all of it. We have to return to try other stuff on the menu. The bread pudding is a wonderful classic. This place is close to being a nice place but just misses all around. Service was a nice young lady but had no clue what she was doing. They served one meal at a time ,all twenty minutes apart. Seems the kitchen can't handle but one thing at a time. The menu is all over the place, Greek salad, hamburgers, Cajun, fried ravioli,Mediterranean vegetables. Had the Stella on the bayou. It was very salty, the shrimp were like popcorn shrimp and the fish was strong and tasted the same as the shrimp. Very little food for the price. The crab cakes were almost inedible and the fries tasted freezer burnt. May give it a try again once they have been open for a while. But an hour and a half for the three of us and we all ate twenty minutes apart is hard to forget. Oh and all there orders were wrong. read more

My husband and I found this place by accident last night while looking for a lenten meal. We walked in at 7pm knowing they closed at 8pm according to google. The outside of the building at night seemed a little sketchy but when we walked in..what a beautiful establishment! We were greeted by a very friendly server and she sat us right down. We ordered the sweet chili shrimp for an appetizer and both ordered Stella on the Bayou aka 2 huge fried catfish filets and 12-15 very nice size shrimp (without the tail, yay). It came with seasoned green beans,fried potatoes and a side salad. The shrimp appetizer came right out. It was a large portion of perfectly fried large shrimp (without the tail, yay) drizzled in sweet chili sauce and almond slivers with a side of remoulade sauce. They were delicious. The main meal came out and I couldn't believe how much food was on that plate. We could easily have shared 1 plate. It too was hot and delicious. It was a great experience and we can't wait to come back and try a ribeye! read more

Terrible service. Four different servers and had to ask for drinks. Total bill well over a hundred bucks and the meal came in pieces!!!! Crab cake steak served with NO crab cake on two steaks. I can see how it can be hit or miss. I went to dine in a while back and I had the mushroom Swiss burger! It was excellent and the fries were awesome! The fries had buttery garlic on them and I couldn't wait to have them again today when I ordered OUT. When I received my food today I was disappointed. Nothing on the burger when it was told to dress it. Good taste but dry. (Same burger as above) when I seen the fries I was even more disappointed. It was seasoned fries, not the garlic buttery fries I was waiting for. So I called and the girl said that is the way burger comes and you have to ask for dressed. I did that. Then I asked did I have to ask for the garlic fries too? And she replies with, we have never served garlic fries here and I told her well I had them when I ate in and she has been there a year and she did not ask anyone about the fries. I'm not sure what the first reviewer's problem was with this place. But since this is the internet, I am going to assume they are just one of those people who are never happy with anything...What a sad life they must lead. Now that the troll has been fed, lets talk about the restaurant. The food was great! Every dish that came to the table had something about it that made it stand out. The red chili glaze on the duck was perfect, zesty with just enough bite. The cheese burger's patty was cooked perfectly and the bun was buttered and crisped on a flat top grill for extra flavor. The buffalo sauce on the buffalo poboy was just strong enough to give a little bite, but not so hot you couldn't taste all the other ingredients, in other words, just right. Plus, they used real french bread on the poboy, which is always a big deal to me. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Even walking in for the first time, it felt like we had been going there for years. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they all were happy to be there. They took care of everything before we even realized we needed to ask for anything! The drink specials they came up with for Halloween were creative and tasty. I walked in with high expectations, and they exceeded every last one I had. This is the only place worth eating at in the area. read more
