We ordered extra…read moresauce, they put none on, we ordered a taco pizza, got no toppings, we ordered foil top and bottom of the box so the pizza doesn't taste like a box when I get home and they didn't do that. The girl actually looked at me and said "I didn't really understand how to do that". I looked at her, opened the box and said "simply, you put a piece of foil on the bottom of the pizza and one on the top". She took the 3 pizzas back and was able to complete the task of 2 out of 3. So frustrating when you special order something, pay extra for it and have them upset because you changed their routine. Got home and the pizza was sub parr at best!

Stop. I'm getting ahead of myself. It seems like I'm intent on posting the end of the review first! My first night in town and I was feeling pizza, and wanted to feed myself and my parents, so my first trip to Abby's was a pleasant surprise. The place is located where The Apple Peddler used to be, and has since gone out of business. Shame, they had great breakfast, but I digress, this review is about Abby's. The layout of the place still looks the same, in fact while I was deciding what to order, I looked over and saw the exact booth I sat at four and a half years ago. I love this about small towns, that change comes very slowly, if at all. So I was greeted by this cheerful girl, whose name I am ashamed to say I can't remember, but I do remember the details. Through conversation, I told her I was visiting from Alabama, and she told me that she grew up in Mississippi, and then reminisced a bit about the southern things they don't have in Oregon. A very nice way to wait for my pizza to cook. So I went with a half vegetarian pizza (for my parents) and pepperoni and sausage for me. For me, there was a good amount of meats on my half, both of which tasted fresh, a great sauce with the perfect level of zing, (though my parents felt it was a bit strong for their taste) and plenty of hot, melty cheese on a crispy, yet tasty crust. I also enjoyed a nice beverage in which I mixed unsweetened iced tea with lemonade. (I'm not exactly sure what brands they use, but they blended beautifully!) it was a pleasant experience. A week or so later, I returned and got a pepperoni and pineapple, which was also very good. And even more recently, I returned and got some garlic Parmesan breadsticks, which also did not disappoint. I'm not gonna lie. I'm a fan of Abby's Pizza, and if you go back to the beginning of the review, well, you know the rest!

The restaurant was full when we visited but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. It seats about 35. One couple caught our attention & said "We're almost done!", which kind of reflected the ambiance of the whole place! We also noticed during our visit, that as the tables emptied one by one, people would stop at 2 or 3 tables on their way out to greet their friends. A very happy place! There was only 1 cook & 1 waitress who were both pros at handling the load. They loved their job which is a huge + for their guests! FOOD: It was all very good. But when Sharrah brought my "1/2" order of Sue's Cafe Breakfast, I said "I think this is the FULL order right?". She just laughed & said "Nope"! COFFEE: Well, I have to agree with some other reviews that it's pretty weak but not a deal breaker for this entire experience. Give them a try. Be prepared to wait a bit. You'll be glad you did. Plus you'll be very full! They're in a shopping center right next to Ray's grocery store.
