I love this nail salon, it is the only place my sister and I go anymore to get our nails done. They take walk-ins and do their best to accommodate everyone. The nail techs are all fast and detailed, prefectionists. Their gel manicures last longer than any other salon I've ever been to, 6+ weeks - and I'm not easy on my nails. I've been here at least 5 times. Every time, the woman who was doing my nails got up (more than once) to do a waxing. While I understand if my technician has to answer the phone, or briefly speak to a client because it's a business, I do not believe in leaving a client who is 1/2 done for over 10 minutes at a time, making their appt at least 30min longer. They may have people coming in for waxing because it's quick, but they lost a mani/pedi (& waxing) client because I don't believe in just leaving a client partially done, especially when they're left without the technician saying anything. Honestly, the last time I was there, my technician left me 6 times before putting my polish on. All I needed was polish, (which takes less time than an eyebrow or lip wax), and after being left, again, knowing that finishing my polish would only have the client wait as long as I would have to wait, (& knowing I was already left 6 times for waxing during this 1 nail appt), I simply left. I left $ on the desk, took $ out for the polish & paid for what had been done & went to another salon for a "polish change" even though I needed new polish altogether. I am not one to say something to the nail tech unless something hurts or I notice on the 1st finger that the Color or design is wrong. I did say (after the 3rd time) if she could please finish my nails & stop leaving me because she knew I had exactly 1 1/2 hours to get my nails done. It usually took 45min there, so I even accounted for time if I was taken late or if they saw ppl in between my appt - but, apparently 45minutes extra was not enough. Due to their lack of client awareness, I will never be returning. I am not one to complain, and I rarely leave bad reviews unless it's very bad. The nails don't come out very bad, however I have had bad service every single time i went there - && I've been there (at the minimum), at least 10 times. My first visit, I was only left for 1 waxing appt. I'm assuming because I didn't complain, they thought they could take anyone while doing my nails. I did complain my 2nd visit though, and every visit after that, which is why I got fed up & left without my nails being completed. I was a reliable customer - I made appointments, showed up early, and always gave a clear time of when I needed to be done by, (because of them taking other clients while working on myself), and if I had a design request, I always showed a picture. So, nothing I did gave reason for them to value other clients above of me. I am not in any way saying I'm better - I'm simply saying, it was my turn, (& I also tip very well regardless of the service b/c I knew they were busy & b/c I've worked on tips before, so I know how important they are to anyone who works for tips- but, a place that can't time manage or hire enough staff to do what needs to be done without interrupting other client's appointments, isn't a place for me). read more

I've been coming to Stephanies for a couple years now and everytime I come I hate it more and more! These women are okay at doing nails but seriously favor and over accommodate the white women who come in. I am a hispanic woman myself and i feel extremely judged. First off, two stars for the two ladies who are good here. My mother and I have been coming here for years, her more frequently than I since I live a town over. This place is not what it used to be. Today is the second, possibly third time that we have had to walk out after making an appt and subsequently having to wait. I called today and asked if around 3 was good, the lady who answered checked her book and said yes. My mother and I walked in at 2:55, were asked what we needed so I said I had an appt for 3 for two pedicures. That was it. Nothing else. All four tables were filled with just-started gel manicures, and clearly friends of the employees or regulars since they were all in deep conversation. We knew then that we would be waiting another 30-40 minutes past our appt time. We walked out at 3:10, after continuing to be ignored by all staff. Not even set up in a pedicure chair. The worst part? There are two couches to wait on. One had someone sitting...in the middle of it. And the other? Well, it was holding the scattered purses of the people getting their nails done. One even had a cup of coffee being held up by a rolled up jacket. So my mother and I stood while we waited. And trust me, the girls getting their nails done saw us (they were staring actually) and made no move to grab their bags so we could have a place to sit. It's like walking into social hour and if you're not a friend of the employees then you're just not paid attention to. I will say; when the owner is present, it's a little more smooth in terms of customer service, but the wait is always the same. Today would make me officially done trying to come here. read more

Great experience for my first time here! My pedicure was done with Irma and she took her time and really got rid of all the dead skin and smoothed out my rough heels (TMI sorry lol)! My gel manicure was done by Orphelia and she captured what I wanted perfectly. I have a wedding this upcoming weekend and the bride wanted our nails a specific way. She used two different polishes to make sure it looked exact!!! I'm so happy with the way they came out. I have been searching for a good nail salon for months now and kept coming back to this salon on yelp. Today I decided to give them a try. I called up and made an appt for a full acrylic set to be done. I got there and after speaking to the owner about how rough I am on my nails, she was honest and told me to try gel instead of acrylic. I was skeptical since I have always gotten acrylic but decided to try it. The attention to detail that she gave my nails was far better than any other salon that I have been to! She was honest and knew what she was talking about. Owning a small business myself, I know how important it is to do quality work and be honest with clients from the beginning.
