Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

The mash was too thick and chunky, the bangers were bit overcooked. The mussels was disappointing, seafood chowder was ok. The restaurant is located on the second floor. We made a reservation, but was asked to wait while they cleaned up the table. Unfortunately, the table they wanted to seat us, the folks decided to have a long after dinner conversation, thus we ended up waiting longer than expected. Then they seated us at a larger table after waiting 15 minutes or so. The service was decent... wasn't fan of tipping request, EU needs to stop adopting USA's stupid system :)

Cozy with both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose your vibe. I went with the eggs Benedict and a mocha, and both hit the spot classic, tasty, and no frills needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which just added to the easy-going atmosphere. Overall, it's a solid neighborhood café. Nothing to complain about: just good food, good coffee, and a chill place to start the day. Ratings: Food: 4/5 Service & Ambience: 4/5 Money's Worth: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - A reliable, friendly brunch café worth a visit.

Healthy and good, but too much ice, 4*Tea: nice and hot, served with milk. 4*Warm Goat cheese salad: goat cheese with a mixed leaf green salad with candied walnuts, beetroot & homemade spiced apple chutney & house dressing and pink onions: if you are health conscious, then this is a dish for you. 4*Crispy Pork Belly-Slow cooked Irish pork belly, salty crackling, mashed potato, summer veg, spiced apple chutney & jus: truly crispy and crunchy pork served with long broccoli and carrots. Mashed potatoes were good. Spiced apple chutney tasted like pears, light and not too sweet. Overall it was a well balanced dish.
