If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with this accountant was shockingly unprofessional and nasty. He misspelled one of our names and put the wrong address on our tax return, basic information that should absolutely be correct. When we asked to sit down with him for a few minutes to review everything and make sure it was accurate, he flat-out refused and became immediately nasty. At that point, we asked for our check back so we could have our taxes done elsewhere by someone who would actually give us the time of day. He told us he had already cashed it, so we asked him to write us a check. He did but then, as he was handing it to us, he pulled it back to make a copy. He then handed us the copy and sarcastically asked why we would need a copy of a check. When we said because he handed it to us, he responded, "Yeah, because I wanted to see how little you pay attention." It only got worse. He told us the only reason he agreed to do our taxes was because of who our family is, and that we couldn't possibly be related to them because we are "too stupid." When we reminded him that we were there because he made mistakes and that he should be apologizing instead of belittling us, he said "I don't apologize". Completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable behavior, especially from someone handling something as important as your taxes. There is a reason this firm has so many one-star reviews. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. read more

Unprofessional accountant - was my accountant for years and I believed what he told me without verifying -- that was a huge mistake--I am paying for it now. On top of that, his bookkeeping is atrocious - He will send you bills even though you already paid him long ago . He will make appointments for you to come in and he doesn't show up. He will tell you he called the IRS or the State or wrote letters on your behalf and you later find out no such calls or letters were ever made. Please, verify what he tells you and don't rely on his word. read more

This man doesn't even deserve 1 SINGLE star of a rating. He is completely unprofessional and won't acknowledge when he messes up. He made multiple mistakes with my families information, he lost multiple files and would not accept that he lost it and said he was never given it, spelt my mothers name wrong even tho she verified it multiple times over the phone, and wrote the complete wrong address even though the correct one is on all of the paperwork he has so he is quite literally just the most incompetent person you could ever work with I mean a complete BAG of air. He refuses to do anything over email, he only does print outs because he's "too busy" for anything other than hardcopy but will lose all of your hard copy's anyways. If what you need from him isn't simple enough he will become extremely nasty to you because he doesn't have the mental capacity for anything slightly complicated. After my mother when to address this situation he verbally harassed her not accepting the fact that HE is the one at fault and although my mother handled it very politely his ego couldn't handle it. Sticking his FINGER in her face calling her vile names and belittling her in front of his entire office staff (who sat there with there heads down doing nothing to help her). He's not only rude, disgusting, and completely egotistical.. he is also genuinely incompetent and incapable of doing his own professional, do yourself a favor and NEVER step foot in this mans business. read more

I have been using steve to do my tax teturn for over 25 years and never had a problem with him or his office.

We were referred to Steve as new clients to complete three individual tax returns. He lacks any type of customer service. He immediately began by speaking down to us after we waited because he had to throw out trash and provide someone with his grocery list. The minute I asked a question he responded with I have been doing this for 35 years and to not speak to his subordinates. He also added "whose office is this" its mine. Being it was the first time we were meeting him you would think he would of told us a little bit about how he operates instead of just yelling at us. I got so upset that I asked him if I did something wrong (I was visibly getting upset) and as he continued to be condescending and having a raised harsh tone he then decided he didn't want to do our returns and told us to leave. I have never experienced anything like this from someone that I was compensating for services. Trust me go somewhere else...he isnt the only accountant in Long Island! If could report him to someone I would because he clearly has a misplaced moral compass treating people the way he does. read more
