I have to say the ice is some of the best around, maybe because the people working their do a better job of using the zamboni or may the cooling system is better, not sure but this place is great for hockey. Outside the ice rink is the Eagle town pool and is ine very busy place in the summer. Great place to go and cool off. Around the ice rink I think is some of the best mountain biking in the state. Trails leading to miles and miles of riding in all directions. One of the trails called the Haymaker is where the State High School championships have been help for the last couple of years, The trailhead starts right from the parking lot of the ice rink. Mountain bikers can also hit the bmx track next door that is open all of the time to the public. Next to the bmx track their is a pump track that is also very cool and fun to warm up on before leaving to go on a mountain bike ride. I also have to say that the staff who run and take of the ice rink and the and the park around are some of the nices people you might want to ever meet. It's nice you meet people how care about their job and do such a great job. Maybe something that is harder too find nowadays.

You are immediately greeted by the admission hut but the entrance is so big, if you have your own skates you can just keep walking. However, please keep in mind the money they charge is for upkeep and future equipment! There is one main rink and then a bunch of rinks split up where people play outdoor hockey. There is an ice "trail" that connects to each rink too. I actually preferred skating around the trail itself and you can really experience how big Evergreen Lake really is. Keep in mind this is an outdoor rink and not a nicely zammed sheet of ice. You'll get bumps, dip and everything in between. Some people with boots were really inconsiderate and walked on the ice. This puts huge dips in the ice... not cool! If you have never skated outdoors this is definitely worth an experience. Getting on the ice and how congested the bench gets isn't too worth it but experience it once to say you did it. For anyone that doesn't want to skate, grab a coffee, hot chocolate and/or cider and walk around the trail on the outskirts. Overall an ok experience that should prove fun for the family.

My friend made a two-hour rink reservation for her birthday, and it was the first time I actually enjoyed ice skating. I've only been to indoor rinks, with obnoxious music and rambunctious kids zooming around, so it was nice to get some peaceful adult time on the ice. The parking lot was easy to find, and there were greeters to ensure you had a reservation, but knowing where to go afterwards was tricky. Luckily I had my friend to direct me to the counter for skate rentals, then guided us down to the lake entrance to find our designated rink. Everyone that works here is super nice, which made the experience that much more relaxing. Some of the guys even whipped out their hockey gear! My friend brought lawn chairs for taking breaks. So smart. Even though the snow banks around each rink had melted a little, the view overall was phenomenal. Lots of friends that saw my Instagram story asked where I went ice skating, so I hope more people discover this gem at the Evergreen Lake House.
