Beware! Do NOT use Stephens Cleaners. INCOMPETENT I took 2 corporate table cloths to be cleaned and they lost them. I needed them for a corporate event with customers and the company VP. That evening, they claimed they found them and would deliver them to my doorstop the next morning. Well they delivered the same (not my tablecloths, different color, they tried to push off as mine the day before). Weeks passed, I asked to file a claim, only to tell me 30 days later they "found" my tablecloths. (Numerous missed events not having my table cloths). Today, against my better judgement, I took 4 corporate tablecloths to be dry cleaned because Stephens is convenient to where I live, and oh well, everyone makes mistakes. I was told I had a balance of which I said "you're kidding me, you want me to pay that?" I was told they weren't lost. I guess they were holding on to them for good measure. Then Mikey told me to take my business elsewhere. I promise, I wasn't a Karen, I kindly said I am not paying that balance. Stephens is the WORST. I implore you. I looked them up online where I found their price sheet. Because the prices were reasonable, I took them three items. When I paid for them, the price was exactly double what their price sheet listed online. When I said, "Wow, that's expensive," I got a big smile with no comment. If you come here any day of the week, you'll see a whole crew of people behind the counter working hard--- listening to their ipods as they press & steam & clean all sorts of items. Makes me feel good about dropping my clothes off here knowing that they are well staffed-- so that your clothing gets the time/attention it needs. You'll also realize that they have a huge fan base already as you look to the right & see the loads of bags of members who've signed up for free pickup/delivery service. (where they pick up your laundry weekly from your doorstep! how convenient!) After entrusting my nicest clothing items to Stephen's Cleaners & I have to say, they've earned my trust! I've dropped off anything from dresses & suits... to even my bridal veil. And they've done an excellent job with each item! Not the cheapest, but definitely worth it to know that you have someone trustworthy handling your most delicate/valuable items. Had a Groupon so my entire order was 50% off. First order came with a coupon so my next order was also 50% off. The prices are bit high but the quality of work was great. I would definitely go back. I used to go to a discount dry cleaners next to my house but the quality between the two is night and day. Been coming to this cleaners for about a year. Today, picked up one of my favorite shirts only to learn it was ruined. Cleaners claims it was received that way. I advised the manager that they should have called me right away since they had it for at least 1 week. For the price this cleaners charges, I definitely expected much better customer service No apologies and no accommodation was made. I will be thinking over my future business here. read more

Great employees for sure. I have been using this place for 3 years at an average of $300 a month. They reported that my sunglasses were found only to tell me that a staff member had stolen them. I run a business it happens. I asked for Management to call me or give me their email. The Associates told me they were not allowed to give the email or telephone of Management but someone would call me. i traced it out 9o days and here we are of course no one has. Staff no longer looks me in the eye i guess they are embarrassed. Sad because i am loyal and like the staff. i thought this would be competitive enough that Management would at least apologize if not give me a 50$ credit. they were brand new 250$ ray bans. i acknowledge my role in leaving them in the bag! read more

I took 1 shirt and 1 pair of pants to get cleaned on Mar 18 and was told they would be ready on Monday the 22 after 5 PM. On the 22nd I went to pick up my dry cleaning and was missing my shirt. The person behind the counter said I only brought one item, so I showed her my receipt. She said well its not in the system I can't find it but got my number and advised that she would have the manager call me on Tuesday when she came in. Tuesday the 23rd, no call. Wednesday the 24 I call the store and speak with the manager, she states that it was sent back and she "found it" so I can come in and pick it up. I stopped in and got my shirt but kept getting different excuses from her. This was the last straw. My family has used Stephens cleaners at that location since the 90's, and they just lost several loyal customers. read more

This place is a little pricier than other area cleaners, but on the other hand I haven't had any issues here with broken buttons or other damage. I also like that you don't have to prepay. Would recommend but if you require weekly cleaning the higher price can add up quickly. read more

Brought a jacket in to repair 2 holes and then cleaned! OMG! It looks like a 2 year old sewed it! Looks much worse then what it looked like before. Definitely cannot ever be worn again. Manager was arguing with me that I don't have to pay for repair but I have to pay for cleaning. How does that make sense when it can never be worn again? I said keep the jacket and donate to Good Will. Very dissatisfied after coming here for 15 years. Wondering if new owners since previous work I had done was much better .follow up: well it's been 3 days now and no one has contacted me about this review or the dissatisfaction expressed in the store. It is the worst cleaners I had seen in my life when I asked for your supervisor or whatever the answer is there no body above to talk or listen to your claim which have damaged my paint with chemIcal and created several holes in my paint but do not accept their responsibility while they have insurance for this kind of damages so it is terrible cleaner I will never gO to this place I am telling you do the same before you get in my situation read more

Horrible experience after doing business here for decades. The first big issue I had, was not handled at all and completely ignored. I had a Tommy Bahama shirt cleaned and they spilled bleach on one of the sleeve. When I brought this to their attention, they said they weren't going to do anything about it. I have been trying to reach the manager and owner for weeks and they play a game. They only will give me the store phone number, and the manager/ owner is never there to respond, and will never call me back. It is me again and the next round with Stephen Wanless the owner and absent manager of the cleaners. I have changed to Charlie's Cleaners on Alma and McDermott they are 1.25 cheaper on shirts, 1.00 cheaper on blue jeans and equal on starched and folded sheets, this is their RACK RATE. The service is much better at the counter and I met the owner in person. This owner is not hiding behind the shirts of the pretty counter ladies to avoid conflict, and he honors coupons and gives itemized receipts (OMG). Mr. Wanless is holding me hostage and will not return $450.00 dollars in garments. It is hard to walk away from because I am now retired and on a fixed income. I doubt that I ever get the clothing back. If you live in Plano, Allen or north please stop giving Wanless your business, he is feathering his nest at the disregard to his employees, and customers. The man will suck the lint out of your pockets to get the last penny. Head over to Charlies tell them that Plano Jim sent you, home pickup, better prices, easy to setup an account. And an honest owner that will call you back if there is a problem. Say NO to Stephens Cleaners, or get your shot to protect you from poor service, high prices and lint scroungers. read more

I dropped off a suit and shirt at 4 pm and needed them back by 4 the next day for a funeral because I had forgotten to take care of it for my husband. I showed up at 3:30 the next day and it was ready and the white shirt was cleaner and whiter than it ever was with the other cleaners that we had been using. Worst customer service ever!!!!worst pick up service ever. They guarantee same day pick up, assure you that you are taken care of and do nothing!!!! I called Monday morning & was assured same day pick up & dry clean completed and dropped off Wednesday, nothing happened!!! Tuesday morning same thing. Called & was assured dry clean would be picked up & delivered back Wednesday. I get home from work on Tuesday evening and still see the dry clean is not picked up!!! So frustrating. It is Tuesday evening & I call & ask why I was promised on Monday & Tuesday that dry cleaning would be picked up & it was not, and lady at the store says you can find some other cleaners!!!? Huh?!!! Returned $300.00 Brooks Brothers pants to me with a 2 inch square cut out of the bottom. They put a patch on the pants which could clearly be seen and felt that was good enough. I tried to negotiate with the girl at the counter for a reasonable dry cleaning credit or cash to help replace the pants. I provided them with the Brooks Brothers receipt. She offered me a $50 dry cleaning credit. The main issue I have is that the owner never once returned my phone calls or showed up when he was supposed to meet me at the shop. This dragged on over a month. The people who work there are nice, but the owner displayed the worst customer service ever. I won't be back. read more

stephen's cleaner's lost/ stole my $1,200 white hungarian goose down comforter! they will not reimburse me, the owner will not call back! the day i dropped off my dry cleaning and comforter, i received one claim ticket from alma. turns out it was for my dry cleaning only. they are saying that i never dropped off said comforter because it was never logged in! alma helped me bring my heavy king sized comforter to the store counter! they know exactly what they had and stole it! not my job to log in my own goods! do not trust these people. the last time i was there i was shown three "untagged lost comforters" brought in from other stephen's cleaners locations. i was told by alma that sometimes id tags fall off of during the cleaning process. i was a stephen's customer for years until this incident! no apologies, nothing just the run around. this has been going on since the first week of september! please read other reviews of people with lost, stolen, destroyed items, before you trust these people! and if you're missing your comforter from one of their locations its probably one of three is saw at the coit location! read more

A tad disappointed but it's my fault for not barking louder. Got $15 coupon for comforter cleaning. I took 3 in and the gentleman said I could use the coupon for all 3. I was pleasantly surprised. 3 weeks later I was charged over $75. I called when I got back to my office. The lady that answered said she didn't see a coupon but would check with the manager and call me back. I asked for a credit to be put on my account. She never did. read more

I dropped off my husband's $25 white shirt to clean. It was only worn once before. When I got it back, I found a lot of stains on the collar, which were not there before. I asked them to re-clean the shirt. It took them about a month to do it. Within this period, I asked the girl at the counter for the owner's phone number. She said she didn't have it. I also asked when the owner would come to the shop and she said she was not sure. Finally, the girl told me they could not get rid of the stains and offered me a $15 dry cleaning credit. I did not want the credit and asked them for $25 to buy a new shirt. But she said she needed a receipt. I didn't keep the original receipt and asked the owner's phone number again. The girl said she would talk to the owner and call me back. Another month passed. She still hasn't called me. I would not recommend using this cleaner. read more

I would give them a ZERO if I could. I gave them 2 sets of curtain panels on June 15th with a few clothes to be dry cleaned; I was told the panels would take longer but was not told it would take a full month. I called several times over the past 2 weeks and was told there was a backlog but they would call me when done; was told they were in a buggy and they could not give them back. Today, more than a month later, I finally have my curtains. Mary the manager tried to charge me $70 and I told her they weren't even worth that much....she "gave" me a 20% discount though. They may be ok for cleaning clothes in a timely manner but not household goods. Still waiting for my call from owner, but after reading other negative reviews I won't hold my breath. This place is close to home so I end up dropping my things off here but time after time I am dissatisfied with how my clothes come out. Not only are their prices rather high, but I feel the quality of care is awful. Routinely, my clothes come out wrinkled with pressed in wrinkles and there are items that I have dropped off that seem to never have been cleaned, just pressed. Stephen's Cleaners! What can I say? My Mama told me if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. Well sorry Mama, I have had issues in the past with shirts being torn, stained or holes in them after getting them back from the cleaners. I questioned the attendant at the cleaners about this and it was always differed to the owner Steve who either never called back or responded through his attendant to tell me that he (STEVE) would not doing anything about it. Always an excuse, never accepted responsibility. If it wasn't for the attendant Alma who has always been nice an attentive, I would not be coming back. I hope he (STEVE)realizes if it weren't for his employees he would probably be out of business. But I'm not holding my breath, people like Steve tend to be self centered and really don't care about others. If he wasn't he would be handling his business in a different manner.
