    I found this place when I searched for hoarding clean up in San Diego. A very beloved friend was in need. She and I have worked for many months on cleaning up her house, but we didn't have it in us to continue weekend after weekend. I gave these guys a call 2 weeks ago and learned what they do. They have a pretty extreme variety of service options but they customize it to your situation I used my trusty iPhone and sent them videos of the house so they could get me an accurate estimate. It certainly wasn't cheap and they let me know it would be less expensive if they didn't have to "sort " through much. We tried to have most things sorted but they still had to do some. They told me the guys would work from 8-5 and would take a 45 minute lunch. Steve and Aaron arrived pretty close to on time. I was concerned that my friend may have second thoughts about getting rid of things so I stayed the whole time. Steve was the obvious boss and he hustled. He was amazing. He was also extremely kind and compassionate to my friend and treated her with dignity and respect. Aaron was also very friendly but he wasn't nearly as urgent as Steve was. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I don't think I was given a fully accurate quote. The guys left at 1230 (done for day) and we still paid the full $1750. (Not including tip) The quote was for an 8 hour day.

    This was considered a Level 4 out of 5 hoard. It was much worse in person.

    Based on 5-Star Yelp reviews my family reached out to Steri-Clean a few weeks ago to clean out my family member's house. Every room of his house was filled with hoard and vermin, an accumulation caused by his lack of organization as well as an emotional need to hoard. Natalie was the estimator who immediately called us back and came out to provide a cost estimate. She is a fantastic and compassionate staff member. It is not cheap (think in the $thousands), but worth the efficiency of time (3 days nonstop), muscle power (3 guys), and stomach (rat poop, urine, etc etc) to clean a hoarder house and haul it all away. Damian and David were onsite for three full days and did a fantastic job under the circumstances. They were easy to work with, did ALL the hard labor, and did it in three days .... something my family would not have had the time or muscle to do in 3-6 months! I didn't think it would be possible , but they cleaned out nearly everything. The success of any hoarder Clean Out depends on the speed and cooperation of the hoarder himself. If they insist on looking through every piece of vermin-chewed-up paper or insist a piece of trash is necessary to keep, then the hoarder is working against the Team and it will be money wasted. So before you cut that check you have to make sure there will be 100% buy-in by the hoarder or, in our instance, that the hoarder has family or friends who have the influence and patience to convince the hoarder to let it all go. We highly recommend Steri-Clean and would use them again!

For context, I have been in customer service for 20 years. I would never speak to a client the way I was spoken to. Professional communication matters, especially when you own a business. Even after those uncomfortable conversations, I chose to extend grace and give the company another opportunity. The final straw was the day of a scheduled appointment. My husband and I were waiting to leave our home until the cleaners arrived. When she was late, I called to ask for an ETA, only to be told there had been call-outs and no one would be coming. While I understand emergencies happen, there was no proactive communication, and the interaction again felt dismissive. At that point, I decided I would no longer continue services. I am giving two stars strictly because the staff who cleaned our home were wonderful and deserving of recognition. However, professionalism and respectful communication from ownership are equally important. At first, I was planning to do the house in pieces (rooms one time, bathrooms another), but Rosie actually suggested it would be cheaper to do the whole house at once instead of splitting it up. I had tried a larger commercial cleaning company before and thought they did a "normal" job--until Rosie came.     I booked this company after they quoted me $350 for a deep clean, including the windows. Based on that quote, I canceled another cleaner who was going to do the job for $400. The cleaners arrived two hours late. After seeing the house, they told me the job would actually cost $550 and then attempted to charge even more for each window, despite the original quote already including $160 for the windows. They even told me that the kitchen alone would cost $350 and the bathroom alone would be $170. They ultimately left because they said the home required more work than they had originally quoted. To their credit, they did call afterward, apologized for the misquote, and promptly refunded my deposit, which I appreciated. That said, the situation was still very frustrating because I had already sent photos of the space, canceled another cleaner based on their quote, and had guests coming to stay with me. If the pricing had been communicated accurately from the beginning, I would have kept my original cleaner instead of being left without anyone to clean my house at the last minute. My dad missed work waiting for them so I had to pay him to do the job.

I had scheduled my cleaning for a Sunday afternoon and received a call from Kiran saying that the team they had originally assigned was going to be later than the original time slot because they were at another place. Unfortunately that wasn't going to work for me so Kiran came herself to clean my place! She and Alex did an amazing job and made sure everything was clean and pretty! They were super nice and Alex ended up having to help me clean off a couple of things that were in the garage that I was taking with me (because I can't do spiders) and even helped me put them into my car because they were heavy. They took a little bit longer to clean my place but I'm glad they did because they actually cleaned so many things that other places would have you add on.
