Spoke to Mike on three weeks ago Tuesday. I asked if there was anything that l needed to know about the vehicle. He said "no".I sent a deposit in good faith. Then l flew from St. Paul to Denver, and caught an Uber to Sterling. He tells me it was in a small accident.A piece of trim was missing, and there was some minor damage. Finished the paperwork and got on the road. Now Sterling KNEW l was driving right back.l look at the gas guage.....empty.....then l notice the CHANGE OIL light is on.Further down the road l find out there is no washer fluid.As time goes on l discover two pieces of trim are actually missing. A clip on a visor is missing. The tailgate has a bend in it and does nitty close properly. The sun roof didn't close properly. Plus the motor has a small "tick"...... Now l know that it is a '12, with 120k miles on it....But just tell your clients the truth so they can make an informed decision.Plus, change the oil and gas in it, just to be courteous.... So then this happens.I wrote a review that was not too nice. My phone rings and it is Sterling. They tell me that they are going to send me $500.oo to make up for the situation, and have me take down the review. That was last week.... this is all after they know that l am a disabled Iraq and Afghanistan Vet...... which doesn't make me special, just further illustrates how they deal with people who are not local..... So now a month has passed.... The owner sent me a position of the check they were going to send me via FEDEX the weeks ago..... Still no check..... Disappointed with our experience after purchasing our truck here. The vehicle was sold to us with a key fob that did not have the physical key cut and also had the wrong battery installed. Because of this, we were locked out of our truck on Christmas Day. This was especially frustrating since these are issues that should have been caught and handled at delivery. To add to that, the fuel tank was not filled at purchase, which felt like another missed basic courtesy. We expected better attention to detail and follow-through when buying a vehicle. Purchased a 2003 Honda Civic sometime. High pressure sales techniques. Said I was not getting out of the dealership without a purchase. Contacted Honda to have the vehicle for issues and Sterling said no. After have my car totaled, I felt I had no choice. This car had all the warning signs The previous owners worked on it. For example, they attempted to convert the headlights to LED. Which made the headlights catch fire. I got the vehicle home and the next day the airbags Deploy in my face. Turns out, that no one should Trust CAR FAX. You see if a car gets into an accident, this car had Two accidents and the air bags deploy you are driving. This is illegal. You cannot push an air bag back in the steering wheel. Stay away from this place!!!! They will screw you over and use high pressure. They sell highly defective vehicles. Bought a car from the Castlerock location - would not pass emissions test, could not get it registered, then the car hit a bump in the road and fell apart. Literally bottomed out and the air bags deployed. When I spoke with Jodi Lamb regarding the refund of the warranty, she was unprofessional, overtly terse and could not have been less sympathetic that the car I'd recently purchased, from Sterling Auto had been deemed, "a total loss". Not only did she portray herself as incapable of professionalism, she actually hung up on me mid conversation. I can't remember ever encountering anyone as rude as Jodi Lamb. I was buying a car coming from a hour away hired a car inspector to look at the car for me 2 hours before my inspection I got a call saying they had someone coming in to but it! I cannot recommend this dealership if looking to purchase a vehicle. I found a Ram truck online that looked like it would work for me. I called to ask questions and was told by the salesman that the truck was on another lot. Somehow, he was able to send me some pics within minutes! The pics showed some significant scratches. I was told that the truck would be transferred to the Frankton lot, the scratches would be corrected and that I would then get a video of the truck. I waited over a week, hearing nothing. I called the salesman and was told the truck was still at the other lot and that he would get it relocated and repaired immediately. Another week passed so another call. No answer and no return call. I called to complain to a manager about the service and was told the truck was on the lot but the repairs had been delayed due to sold vehicles being put in the repair line ahead of this one. The original salesman called within an hour and said he would get the pics out to me that day. It has been another week!!!!!! Nothing !!!!!! Don't buy from this dealer unless you are standing on the lot with money in your hand. Their internet customer service sucks. read more

Great people but my truck doesn't run. It's been over a month and I can't drive it during the day. 4x4 worked on test drive. After test drive and button repair, it makes clicking noise...maybe from it being engaged on asphalt? You can't do that guys...ever. Engine dies in heat. Replaced half the cooling system and that's no even the problem at hand. By now they should have offered an alternative vehicle...the cost to fix this one is going to be half as much as its even worth. Plus 9 years with 37k miles in the East Coast...even I should have known better. Cute truck though! I love it. Sales and the staff were great people! read more

I had contacted this dealer regarding a truck via Car Gurus. I followed up with a call, I asked about price negotiation since there was a truck with more options, less mileage, for $30 more at a nearby dealership, he did tell me they offer a military discount but do not negotiate. The gentlemen never even asked for my name, his attitude was apparent it was within two hours of closing. I then used their contact us form to let them know about my experience...no response. UPDATE as of 8/11/2017: After speaking to Adam from the Sterling location, for over 6 weeks we FINALLY got the turbo handled. Adam was great to communicate with, although Tyler made his job really hard requiring him to work with his hands tied behind his back not allowing him to make any business decisions without his consent. My suggestion to Tyler, if you don't trust the people that you leave in charge of your business, maybe you should make it a point to actually be in the office so you can run it and take care of your customers yourself. If I were to ever buy from here again, I would only go to Adam! I would rate at a ZERO star, but that's not allowed. My husband bought a truck from here a few months ago, his DREAM truck and it has been nothing but problems since he drove it off the lot. This place is a JOKE! We would drive by this place often and he'd stare at the lot just drooling over their trucks. He has had to take it back to them at least 3 times, that I can remember, for them to even get it pass emissions. Now, the check engine light still remains on and we recently had to pay out of pocket, to replace the DPF, which they said they replaced during one of the many visits to their shop. Our mechanic, who we've been going to for YEARS said there was no way they put in a new DPF. They said they would cover the cost of the repairs once we sent them the service bill. STILL no check. The last we are being told is the check is in the mail and no more communication. They mailed the check, supposedly on Monday, July 3rd. Even with the Holiday it would be here. Now they won't even communicate with my husband to settle this. Looks like this will go farther up the chain. This place is a rip off. I'd never recommend for anyone to buy a vehicle here. They don't care about the quality of the vehicle they are selling or the person they are selling to. read more

In less then a year of having the car we are having to replace the engine they refused to help us. I bought a vehicle in September 2010. I purchased a warranty with it. After reading the paperwork on the warranty I realized I know longer needed the warranty. I had 60 days to cancel the warranty. I cancelled the warranty in the first 3 weeks. I received a confirmation from the warranty company and from Sterling Auto Sales. Sterling Auto states it will take 45 days to process the reimbursement. It has been more than 6 months and I have yet to receive the reimbursement from Sterling Auto Sales. I have called them 5 times and they keep making excuses as to why it's taking so long. I've called the original Sterling Auto Sales in Sterling Colorado to ask them what the process is. Sterling Auto Sales in Sterling states it's as easy as the sales manager writing a check to the bank who possesses the auto loan. Sterling Auto Sales in Franktown in playing games and doesn't want to take money out of their pocket and send it back to me. I spent $900 on the warranty and would like some justice. I purchased my car from this dishonest bunch scammers and the next day the check engine light went on. I was really upset and called sterling auto to see if they would fix it. Like the other reviews the salesman said their was nothing that they could do because they were too busy. It turns out that the charcoal canister needed to be replaced- $600. Sterling had the car for months and they must have know of the problem but we suspect that they had been disconnecting the battery to reset the check engine light- we saw the salesman do it but had no idea at the time what he had done (just thought he was checking it pre test drive). Don't deal with these guys they lie, misrepresent, and sell cars that they buy at auction that have serious flaws. They sell them for half of what they buy them for and don't stand behind anything. Also, the DVD player died on us right away. Very frustrating experience. read more

I went in today to buy my very first vehicle from a dealership, nervous as all heck that I was going to get worked over (due to my inexperience). I had my eyes on a beautiful Toyota Tundra. But I went in, and was happily greeted by everybody and set up with Adam to start the process. After my test drive I was in love, and it was no secret that I wanted this truck; at which point most dealers would have probably upsold me on everything they could. But honest Adam got to work on getting me the best possible financing, well within the ideal budget I had laid out for him. I was then set up with Lucas to finalize all the paperwork, and he was very patient about my inexperience. Overall, it was a very friendly and pleasant experience and I very happily drove my new truck away with a big fat smile on my face. 10/10 would recommend anybody looking for any vehicle to come here first. Great group of people!! Everyone was friendly and appreciated my business. The lot is full of late model nice trucks but I was there to buy a 2014 Harley Road King. The buying process was over the phone and due to terrible weather I wasn't able to get down there for several days. I didn't have to send a deposit or anything for them to hold the bike for me, my word that I wanted it was enough for them. The loan was done on their website and I was approved in minutes with a great rate. I spent literally 20 minutes there signing paperwork and turning over my keys to my trade and I was on my way home, before the snow came again. I was visiting a friend that lives just north of this dealership. I stopped in to see a Cadillac Escalade and asked if I could come by the following day to see it in its entirety. Allen was my first contact. What a nice man. Laid back and easy to speak with. My husband and I arrived the next day and they got a plate on the car and sent us out to drive the vehicle. We found the car running well, clean and a complete car fax. When we got back we sat down with Allen and Luke. They made this car buying experience the best ever. All just down to earth. We were given fair value for our trade and then I realized that one of the back seats was back at home that belonged in the trade. I asked to drop it off and they were fine with that. I drove out of the dealership that day in my Escalade. Allen told me to come by the next day so he could have my car washed. I would highly recommend this dealership. Bought a truck from them that cam from Canada. I didn't realize that a truck manufactured in Canada is really hard to sell. They never mentioned that to me. A lot of dealerships where actually surprised that they were allowed to sell me a Canadian spec truck. Also they owed me many parts from the get go and took them months to get them to me. I tried to sell it back and they did me so wrong low balled me so bad knowing what I payed and knowing that they sold me a lemon they couldn't even give me anything close to what I payed. read more

I spoke with Adam over the phone about a truck they had in inventory. I was coming from out of state so I wanted to be sure everything was setup before my trip. I repeatedly asked about rust issues with the vehicle. He assured me there were no issues. The only body issue was a couple of scratches on the door. We struck a deal and I arranged for plane tickets. I arrived and was picked up at the airport and brought to the dealer. Immediately upon arrival I saw rust on the truck in addition to some other undisclosed cosmetic issues. I was quite upset about the situation. Adam offered $500 off, but that wouldn't come close to making the repairs needed that he lied to me about. No deal was made and I felt like I was pulling teeth to get a ride back tnthe airport. No apology was made by anyone involved. If that's is how business is run at Sterling, run away quickly! To top off the horrible experience, I had to contact my credit card provider to dispute the charges for my deposit. Adam didn't want to issue a refund even thought the truck was grossly misrepresented and that was the reason I did not complete the purchase. Buyer beware! read more

After a day of going from lot to lot, I stopped by Sterling in Franktown to see a truck I noticed driving by. Allen was low pressure and got me the keys without asking a billion questions. After a test drive, I got nervous because I knew what was coming...the negotiation. To my surprise, it was very easy. They gave me a fair price on my trade in (Considerably more than any other dealer would offer) and didn't spew nonsense for 3 hours. I was in and out within about 2 hours, start to finish and that was delayed since 30 minutes of that was me deciding to pull the trigger or not. This is my first experience with them but it was very pleasant. I'll definitely keep them in mind when it's time for something else. read more

My experience with Sterling Auto, Franktown started off well but has left me very disappointed and angry. They sold me a truck with lots of problems from the minute I drove it off the lot. Promises were made to me that they would take care of the issues with the truck. After many conversations, their solution was to sell me a warranty that I'm finding out now delays simple fixes on the truck by weeks! I would strongly recommend staying away from this company!
