I have been trying to get an estimate for over three weeks to do some expensive work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At first the conversation with the owner Raul Garcia the first two times was cordial[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . I explained my automotive abilities engines I have built and work I have done. We seemed to be on the same page. I told him I would do some test, compression, leak down, and exhaust gas in coolant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted him several times after that and discussed the results and requested a rough estimate for either head gaskets and or fixable components to alleviate the overheat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also if that turned out to be beyond repair an engine swap. He said it would be expensive . I acknowledged that and told him I just needed to know if the approximate cost either way made sense. He said he would work up an estimate. Did not happen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Additional call last Friday and he was going to do the estimate. I said no it's Friday next week will be fine. Now here we again it is Friday, no estimate, said he sent an email, never called.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now he insists I bring the car in. I told him it would have to be towed just so he could possibly tell me a number I might be not willing to pay[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The car is not worth that much Porsche 01 S. I contracted them for a PPI for my 2010 Range Rover. They missed to detect a major electrical defect including error codes (despite reporting in the PPI that there were 'no relevant current codes)'. This oversight cost me $3,300 in repairs since I bought the car relying on Sterling's PPI. In addition to the error codes they omited to check or report, the issue was also hard to miss during the PPI since it drained the battery within 20 minutes, which makes me wonder what they even did for the PPI. read more

I had taken my VW in to be looked at for what we thought was a possible manifold issue. The gentleman, Mr. Toni, called me a short time later to let me know that it was in fact not what we thought. He stated that though they could fix it, I would be better off finding a more specific shop that specializes in that certain type of repair. Not that they couldn't fix it, but just that their rates would be much higher and that he didn't feel right doing the work knowing the other shop could offer a better price. I really appreciated his honesty and genuine care for making sure I knew all this information. He was also very sweet to my little boy who is always in awe and curious about such places as auto shops and meeting new people. Poor customer service. Dropped my car off for an oil change at 8 am on Friday morning, as soon as they open. The man said that he would call me when they finished. I never got a call. I called back about 4 pm. I was lied to and told that they called me and left a message about noon. On the way to the shop, I hit bad traffic and called to say that I was down the street but because of traffic I might be there at 5. Sharon made no effort to even pretend to care, just saying they close at 5 and no one would be there after 5:00; and that she "hoped to see me before 5". I brought my car back after about 5 minutes because it was malfunctioning and felt like it was about to break down and I received no sorry! I asked to speak to the owner and as she kept her head planted in her desk as she answered he will be back Monday or maybe Tuesday. If you are the owner and read this message I will tell you she is definitely a determinate to your company. I am the customer and was given my car back that was supposed to just have the spark plugs replaced and was returned a car that felt as it was going to break down any moment. I later found out that it was a faulty spark plug and they replaced it. I never ONCE got an apology nor did she ever come out and speak to me. I paid Sterling Autosport to inspect a Mercedes Benz I was considering purchasing from a local used car dealer. Sterling finished the inspection in less than an hour and said everything checked out and so I purchased the vehicle from the dealer. After driving the car for less than a week, I discovered an oil leak from the engine block and also from the convertible motor. After I contacted Sterling they offered to repair the leak for standard pricing and wouldn't even offer a discount or credit me the amount I wasted to have them "inspect" my vehicle. One star is one too many as this place has earned 0 stars. Not sure if there has been a change in management recently but bringing in this TONY individual to be the first representation of what is to come as far as service is concern was a HUGE mistake. He does not understand the first thing about customer service meaning he is there to service the needs of the customers preferably with a smile and at the very least with a positive attitude. I took my car in for brakes to be looked in as I could hear them squeaking every now and then. The mechanic who was an older person looked at the brakes without raising the car and mentioned that brakes were okay and did not need to be replaced. It was close to closing time so I felt that their inspection was rushed and I didn't feel comfortable trusting that opinion. The next day, I drove the car there again since I didn't feel comfortable with them not removing the wheel and taking a closer look at the brakes; unfortunately for me, I met this TONY dude who could not be more rude. He stated, "I heard you brought in the car and brakes don't need replacing". I insisted that I would like for the car to be looked in a little further since I was going on a long trip and he responds, "what do you want me to do, they have already been looked into". I responded that I would like for the car to be raised and brakes be thoroughly inspected to give me peace of mind to which he responded, " I don't need to raise the car to know if they need to be replace and once again his idiotic response what do you want me to do. I walked away because I can't deal with stupidity but for the owner if you care enough about your business and want to do better get rid of this TONY dude because if he does not want to work then stay home and be miserable alone don't attempt to dump your miserableness onto the customers that come to get a service and not your nastiness. If you are in need of service for your Mercedes, I would hands down recommend Inland Mercedes Service in Riverside where they truly care about the customers' needs and treat customers not only with the most outstanding respect but undoubtedly topnotch knowledge. read more

I don't really post bad comments on a business. Especially after covid when times are hard. But I feel I have to. I go to Sterling for all my German-made cars. I do not ask too much trusting that they are telling the truth. Mostly, my bills on every time I leave my car there will average about $3000 to be conservative. But I started dreading every time coz I know it will probably cost me thousands. My Aircon was acting up. I know enough that it might be electrical. Took it there. They initially said they do not have the parts and will send my car to Bear Mountain Auto just by the corner. Bear Mountain called me back and said nothing is wrong with the Aircon except that there was a communication error. Freon was enough. He will have to return my vehicle back to Sterling. Sterling called me and said they checked and I have to pay another $3600 to replace the compressor! When the other guy already told me nothing is wrong. I told them I will wait coz I did not believe them. Got my car but when I took it, check engine light was on. Went back. Mechanic said I need spark plugs right away. I told him I just had my tune up 2 months ago. He sarcastically asked where I had my tune up. I told him there! And that I only go there! went to office and scared me that I need to replace 2 sprak plugs specifically asap! Not to drive it until I have them fix it. Long story short, my Aircon magically runs smoothly. And it's been 2 month. I hit a bump and it now works!Literally. I will never go back there! read more

After our recent B service on our 2021 350 GLE with 19,000 miles at Temecula Mercedes we were very frustrated. Talk about poor service. They told us we needed new brake pads and new rear tires. The brake pad recommendation came 90 minutes before they closed and the pricing was outrageous. Needless to say we got our car and got out of there. Luckily I discussed this situation with my neighbor down the street and he said do not go anywhere but a place called Sterling Autosport in Temecula and talk to Tony. I trusted him and gave them a call. It was simply life changing. They got me in the next day and the brake pads were replaced since the sensor was now going off confirming 350 GLE's eat brake pads. They are the most trustworthy, reliable, fair and affordable. They WILL NOT upsell you. They are that honest. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You will also communicate with Sharon who is also amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is so crazy that this level of service and honesty exists that it honestly felt like we were getting punked and could not possibly go this well. I brought my Porsche in for Sterling Autosport to install an aftermarket exhaust system. After driving it a few days I noticed that one of the pipes had fallen off of the mount at the back of the car. I brought it back in to see if they could put it on the lift and take a look at why it had fallen off. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the work that was performed on my vehicle, it has to do with how I was treated upon my return. I arrived at about 12:30 and was told by the woman at the front desk (who was very pleasant and accommodating) that I would need to wait until the guy who did the work on my car to return. No problem! I waited about 30 minutes and the owner (who also worked on my car) showed up. After another 20 minutes I asked the woman at the front how much longer he was going to be. She went back and spoke with the owner who came up and begrudgingly got my keys and took my car and put it in the garage. I walked to the bay and asked him if he wanted me to show him what was going on with the exhaust, to which he snapped at me and said..."NO!...NO THANK YOU!" I went back up front and asked the woman up front if he was upset that he was asked to look at my car and she said "let me go talk to him." About 5 minutes later he came to the front and said "If you want to come into the show I need you to look at the camera and say 'If I slip and bust my ass in the shop I will not hold you accountable." I kinda laughed because I thought he must be joking. He snapped and said, I need you to SAY IT! I said it, went to the bay to show him what was happening and he responded "I didn't make the exhaust kit!" He worked on the car, rigged up a fix (not sure exactly what he did) drove the car around front and handed me the keys and walked away without even a glance. I had a whole list of things that I want to have done and I will absolutely never take my vehicle back to this turd again! I understand that he was having a bad day at the time but this is absolutely no way to treat a paying customer. I would have happily paid to have him fix the problem if he had asked, but to treat people this way is highly unprofessional and in this day and age I would expect that he would care to NOT receive a negative review. I honestly don't think he really cares! I also know a lot of people in the local area and I will not only not recommend them to this shop but I would dissuade anyone I know from using their service. I had trouble with my Mercedes Benz diesel and was informed that it needed motor mounts so had them replaced. My car drove really rough after the near 2k that was put into it so I took it back to Sterling. The mechanic told me how it's an old "tractor" engine so it just runs like that, which isn't true because it didn't always shake that crazy before. I took my car to another specialist and they told me that Sterling used aftermarket parts which caused the car to shake so much, so I got them replaced with the "correct" motor mounts and now it drives less "tractor" like. Aftermarket parts on a European car? No thanks, I took my business somewhere else, they obviously know nothing about quality car repairs or they just want all your money at this place. read more

After explaining to one of the employees (Angela) over the phone about my situation.  That I am currently overseas, and I wanted to check their availability to see my vehicle if I have it towed in with my fiancée in tow. After some small talk about her appreciation for my military service and that she was a part of the military as well, Angela stated they would be able to see my vehicle today with a $124.00 diagnosis fee which was fine and the locate standard. With everything prepared my fiancée and had my vehicle towed to the auto shop and explained to them some of the issues we were experiences, check engine light, oil leak, and rough start. They attempted to charge her$124.00per issues she stated. My fiancée is not an auto technician and could not possibly know what was related to what as it pertains to the issues. Diagnostic fee totaling 375.75. To inspect and verify prior to any work. After my fiancée left, she called me to ask why it was expensive, I promptly call the auto shop and asked for a detailed explanation as to why the diagnostic fee for charged 3x. The employee attempted to explain to me "this is standard to protect the technicians". I explained to her this was unacceptable, and she placed me on hold to speak with Angela. After a few moments, she came back on the phone and said she could remove 1 of the 3 diagnostic fees placing the new total to $250.00 which is higher than luxury vehicle dealerships.  I did not agree with this and I told Angela that I did not want to move forward and halt all actions for my vehicle. I had explained to Angela that we would get the vehicle towed to a different location and she agreed. My fiancée went back to pick up the car and she reiterated we were taking it to another shop. The front desk employee then proceeded to explain how ALL shops charge this way and we would not be able to find a better deal. My fiancée politely told them multiple times that we were just going to take it elsewhere. When the tow arrived, the employee spoke to the tow truck driver before my fiancée was present and told them they "had worked on the car with 3 hours of labor and it had a huge oil leak and shouldn't be towed." Which was a complete lie. We reiterated that we never did business with this auto shop, they had not looked at the car yet, and my fiancée had to reiterate we are going to tow it to another shop. This was unacceptable, unbelievable, and completely unprofessional conduct. The tow truck driver said that this was ridiculous, and he does not know why they were doing this to us." Take caution! This establishment's actions display poor business practices in attempts to take advantage of its customers. We are reporting them to the better business bureau as well. read more

*****WARNING****** I had an oil leak on my BMW 328i and decided to go here based on the perfect reviews. They inspected my car for 45 minutes and then explained to me that I needed a new Vacuum pump which would cost 413.98 plus 4 hrs of labor for 408.50 and an oil change for 90 dollars which equated to 912.48!!!!!! They were very eager to have me get it done ASAP. However, I was skeptical, so I took it over to another location (AutoCare USA) and they told me within 5 minutes that the ONLY reason for the leak was a worn out rubber band that seals my oil tank. They replaced the rubber band, my oil filter and topped off my car with the oil that spilled out. Total charge 47.40 and my car is running just fine. NO MORE leaks.. I cannot believe Sterling Autosports is this DISHONEST! Either they are writing their own good reviews, or the people going there know absolutely NOTHING about cars. What bothers me the most is that they had the mechanic show me under the car and "explain" to me why my car was leaking and the expensive part that needs to be replaced in an effort to make me feel better about spending a small fortune. My wife told me to just pay the amount and get it over with, and If I didn't have the time to shop around I would have likely paid the outrageous amount. They were ready and willing to replace an expensive part they KNEW did not need to be replaced. It was a very simple fix that they were attempting to make a ton of money on. I have never been to such a dishonest establishment and I WARN everyone to watch out for this place. They are running a straight up CON. Needless to say, I will NEVER be back here again. read more

SO true about the "short and rude" comment about the front desk lady. Exactly what she is. I took my PORSCHE here and had a horrible experience. Had to go back twice after spending over a thousand dollars then they told me car had a new problem that it NEVER had before they touched it and they wanted another grand!! What a joke they charge dealer labor rates and the rude lady that quotes goes by the book PERIOD if the job takes the tech 1 hour but the "book" says 4 you are paying 4. NO REASON to avoid the dealership and go here its a total RIPOFF and they order dealer parts and mark them up anyways. Dead Cluster - Supercharged 1997 BMW 540 I prefer to work on my own car, but this one had me stumped. I had an EWS Input error, no cluster warning lights, no dash turn signals and no back lights. I thought it might be the EWS module or the LCM module. This repair could have easily gone sideways, but the tech isolated the problem to a skewed connector on the cluster. It took the tech 2-hours to troubleshoot the problem, but Sterling only charged me one hour labor. I'll take honest work at a fair price all day long. This review is for changing of a battery for a BMW 325xi. My extremely pregnant sister needed to get her battery changed for her new vehicle. We originally called AAA, however, they were unable to change the battery for us - since BMW's have special computer wiring and such. Unfortunately, the nearest BMW dealership was incredibly far away. The one in her neighborhood - Santa Monica/Beverly Hills had extremely bad reviews. Extremely bad. So I went online to research different mechanics and came across Sterling Autosport. Based on their review - we decided to give it a go. They were able to fit us in last minute on a Saturday - at 4:00 pm. They were efficient and fast. The prices were extremely reasonable - some would even say cheap - compared to the dealership. They charged only $159 - which is only a slight markup from the actual cost of the battery. And they put it in under an hour. Short enough for my preggo sis to make her next feeding. The woman manning the counter (the wife of the owner) was extremely sweet and endearing. I really appreciated having them there. If my sis lived closer, I'm sure that she would return. read more
