Work was excellent. Technician personable and professional. Work done in a timely manner and was on time for appointment. When I first contacted them I asked for an onsite estimate. Was informed that they do not usually do quotes. I felt that I need some idea of cost before I authorized the work. I was later able to give them the square footage of the floor and was given a quote. But it did not seem appropriate to authorize the work and then wait till it was completed to find out what it costs. When the technician finished he measured the square footage which matched what I had given the company. However, his price was less than what I was quoted by $20.00. He also explained to me that they have a sealer. I asked about the cost and his quote for the sealer and cleaning was less that what I was quoted for the cleaning. He also informed me that there was a $10 charge for using credit or debit to pay. Payment arrangements were never mentioned by the person that quoted me. To summarize: work was great but business practices left much to be desired. have discussed issues with owner. Credit card charge due to what they are charged. I understand this but it still should mentioned. Also the technician will measure before doing work and give cost before start which is good. This too should have been mentioned when I first for an estimate. Also, I did get a reduced cost from original estimate. I have changed my rating accordingly. read more

Picked up a yelp deal for these guys and figured I would try them over the national chain. Sterling had a way better price, even before the deal, than the national chain for cleaning and sealing the tile in our home. Two employees came to our house and spent 7 hours (14 total) cleaning the tile, grout and sealing everything. I couldn't believe it when I got home, apparently our grout was white, not brown! On a Sunday evening I sent my information to Sterling via their website and Tod called me first thing Monday morning. Later that day, they came out to measure the rooms we wanted cleaned and one to have the carpet re-stretched. They did a fantastic job on our kid crazed carpets! They were professional, patient and cleaned up after themselves. They provided booties to everyone in need and made sure they had guards for the hoses inside and outside the house to prevent from messing up our garden or ext/int paint. I had the Yelp cupon and with it I got one of my couches done, 2 rugs and my entire house (4 bedrooms, hallway, 3 sets of stairs, LR, DR, FR and another hallway) for $200 ($300 worth). Incredible is the word I would use to describe the service provided by Sterling. Our 10 year old carpet has not looked this good in a long time. We have three small dogs, and have our carpets cleaned every six months. We have had them cleaned for years by a national chain and always assumed they were using the proper techniques. After watching how Sterling performed a multiple step operation using modern equipment, and explaining why each step was necessary, we realized the chain cleaning doesn't even compare. No wonder it only took 45 minutes to clean the whole house when Sterling spent almost three hours doing it right. Don't use low budget carpet cleaners; you will get what you pay for. This is a long overdue review for Tod and Sterling Carpet cleaning. We had our rental home carpet cleaned a few months ago. The home had an animal urine smell throughout the place from the previous renters, and Sterling did a great job getting the carpet smelling fresh again. When the animal smell persisted despite the carpet cleaning (we figured it was in the ventilation system because the carpet smelled great) Tod was nice enough to come by to help with that as well. Tod is really responsive by text messaging which is nice because we are so busy at work that it helps greatly with the communication. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BUSINESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE..... First off, they were 30min late which is not a big deal until you hear the rest. They quoted a price on the phone then when they showed up and saw that it's a nice upscale home they almost doubled the price (I hate that scam). We spoke on the phone to who I assume is the owner and they came down a little (still was 50% higher than original quote). After thinking it over for about 5min I decided I needed it done asap as I only live there part time for work and wasn't going to be there for a while, so I walk outside to tell the guy and he drives off as I walk out. I call the owner back and say fine we will do it. He said the guy is behind schedule and going to another call! I say what!!?? He just drove off and he's scheduled to be here for a couple hours? He said "he's late and needs to get to another call". I said it's been 5 minutes since he got here??? and the guy showed up 30 minutes late!!! He said I will have to reschedule. I explained I don't live there full time and can't reschedule. He didn't seem to care. It was a complete mess for me and my schedule to get this done. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NEVER REFER THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Bad part for the owner is I have friends in this town with over 100 rental homes I could have referred them to if they were good!
