I probably should be giving them a 1 star, but I don't want to take completely away from the beauty of the property. However, they had BED BUGS! Now, I will say that the decor, the space, the accommodations are excellent. I love how it feels like a home away from. With the two bedrooms two full bathrooms. They also have a full kitchen and beautiful dining area. The huge patio is an added bonus being that it has an ocean view! They have multiple pulls connected to the property (you must have a wristband to access it) . That's a plus because it makes visitors feel secure and safe. I love that it is also located directly across the street from a few attractions, a huge souvenir shop and the liquor store I reviewed. However my husband and I left with bumps everywhere! Our condo 205 was nice. It was clean, it had pretty much all we needed. The washer and dryer work fine but are a bit old. Love that this place doesn't feel super crowded. The only thing about this place is they changed my room , although they gave me the option to pick another one. Once I did they decided to try to change my room again to the first one. But we stayed with our second pick which I cant complain about. What really bothered me was Not knowing if they would change my room again. But once here it's been great. read more

Nice unit, in the crowded heart of modern Destin. Great access to everything. City noises, lots of higher-rise condominiums around so not a "wild and scenic beach" but very nice as an urban beach experience. Destin heading to be Fort Lauderdale. Be forewarned that the umbrella and chair rental people will cover the beach solid with their pricey rentals by 6:15 am, leaving no beach front space for your own set up. Appears that they put out more chairs than they rent, one might think, to force residents to rent from them. Also there are threatening and highly, questionably, legal, signs along the "property line" that herd beach users into their overcrowded rentals. One of those signs was placed in the zone below the high tide line in violation of Article X of the state constitution. So take into consideration in selecting your beach vacation site, that you will deal with that. Also a $15 charge to use the pool that was unexpected. Take these things into your calculations and just be aware. Very nice spot to walk to the beach front Back Porch restaurant and dine on the beach. read more

Fun Nazi's. Unless you're retirement age, DO NOT come here. You can not drink in the pool area, smoke a cigarette anywhere on the property (they expect you to smoke on side of the freeway), or even ask staff for anything without getting attitude. The HOA literally watches out the windows to make sure you don't sneak alcohol into the pool, and the check in process is confusing. I wish I could give it 0 stars. read more

We stayed here August 3-7th and it was wonderful. The room was nice and clean and the ocean view was worth it. The only downside is that the elevator was broken but we were on the second floor, so no big inconvenience for us. We cannot wait to return next year! read more

Sterling Sands is a wonderful condo site. but DO NOT book unit 613, managed by Vacasa! We arrived to find the air conditioning not working. I contacted Vacasa, only to ultimately find out they already knew there was an issue, but hadn't bothered to call me before we headed to Florida. They then informed me we needed to find some where else to stay--at 8pm after we had driven 12 hours to get there, during the height of summer season. They basically said, "You're on your own. Find a new place to stay.". There were no other condos available within 2 hours of Destin. (I spent 6-7 hours over two days scouring websites and making phone calls to discover this.). They expected us to just rent a hotel room (not going to happen with 5 of us crammed in a room) somewhere miles from the beach, as that was all that was available. Instead, we chose to stay in the condo and suffer the heat for two days, until the AC was fixed. Went and bought fans to help us cope with the heat, that we then left at the condo. I lost 2 days of my vacation, stressed out and dealing with this nonsense, in the sweltering heat, for Vacasa to tell me they would not be giving any sort of refund or credit for the absolute hell they subjected us to. We love the Sterling Sands location, but absolutely do not rent this or any unit managed by Vacasa. read more

I have stayed here several times and the location is just about perfect. It is situated nearly in the middle of everything. It is right on the beach as are lot of other condos, but it is not too large and compared to some other condos, has reasonable rates. The exterior is not the most attractive, but they have made some nice renovations over the past year. The pool deck has just been redone with pavers and the passages to the units have newly installed tile floors. Another nice thing is the balconies of the units have glass walls, not spindles, so your view is not spoiled. The pool is not huge, but is a nice size that goes from three feet on the sides and slopes to five feet deep in the middle. There is a nice hot tub, again not huge, but can fit six to seven adults comfortable and the innevitable kids too. Worth a look if you are planning a trip to Destin. read more

We rent the condo here from 07/07- 07/10 . We came here with so much excited about the nice trip after long day working time . However , everything go to the opposite way of our expectations . In the first day , we went to the room , everything look pretty nice but the SOFA is smell bad a little bit and we also saw a shaking dinner chair , so we put the chair in the corner so that nobody touch it . FIRST OF All, After the staying , we left the condo with notice that we broke the chair while we already put it in the corner and nobody touched when we were staying there. SECOND, I went home and 6 days later I found out the condo charged us $175 without any notice or any receipt of the transaction. I contacted the VACASA.COM ( the booker) and they said because we lost 7 pool bands . I swear to god , when we left the room , I am the one who left all the pool bands on the counter top ( the same spot the condo left the pool bands for us) and I also have 2 witnesses with me ( my wife and my friend) . I went downstair to the receptionist and told her that I already left the pool band on the counter top and she said ' you are good to go' . After being trap and telling lie to charged me $175 , I contacted to VACASA.COM and all I got , they said the property manager will call me back , but they never do and also said they tried to reach me twice and I didn't answer the phone. I can't believe how they lie to me like that ( I have Verizon and my phone is normal all the time ) Finally, after calling the VACASA so many time , the property manger , TANYA emailed to me about this problem. I did explain to her that I left everything there but she kept saying her staffs did not see anything and they had to follow the rule to take my money . What can I do when the bad company tried to steal my money in that way ? SO , EVERYONE Shoud be AWARE OF THIS BUSINESS AND SEARCHING FOR THEM BEFORE HAVING A BUSINESS WITH THEM. read more

Right on the beach. Great view. We stayed in unit #103. It was actually the 2nd floor because the 1st floor is a parking garage. The unit it self was very nice and looked to have many upgrades (granite counter tops and PLUSH beds). The pool was big and clean. They had 2 grills so you could grill if you wanted to. Best of all it is right on the beach so you can walk from the condo to the sand in minutes. Already wanting to plan next years trip. Dont take my unit people :) read more

Location location location! Right on the beach across from The Track. Everything is convenient from this location. We visited 10 days and though the interior of our particular unit was a bit dated with the owner providing the bare minimum in regard to decor, kitchen utensils, cookware and other amenities typical for a condo rental unit it was a great place to stay for the price! Our unit will have its challenges when it comes time to sell with the loudest fridge known to man, a broken sink handle in the hall bath cheap beds/bedding and partially completed repairs on drywall in the bathrooms; however, we aren't buying and it more that served its purpose and provided adequate space for 2 adults and 3 kids. The 2 BR 2 BA unit was a great value! The rate I got via VRBO was equivalent to the rate of a double queen room at the pink Hampton Inn down the road. The unit was thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival. The floor plan is open and likely sleeps upwards of 8-10. The property has a large pool that changes color at night, which the kiddos thought was too cool. To the side of the pool area is a large covered patio area with 3 gas grills available for renters use. The complex appears to be frequented by families. I met several friendly families that have stayed here annually for years. Next time I'm in the area with my family we will likely stay here as well. FYI the entire complex is a black hole for phones/ internet. Wifi is provided and its spotty at best. I'm told all of Destin has challenges during tourist season as there aren't enough towers to support the influx of people. read more

Felt our condo needed a little love. Had to call maintenance for a couple things, there was the ghetto stick on sliding door to lock it. Beds need to be replaced, they had the dip in the middle and the overall view was a 2 star. But the pool was nice and grounds were nice so it got a 3 star. read more

This place is gross! Dirty condo, dryer doesn't work and very dated. The bedrooms are extremely small as well. Pool is so so. Apparently you can rent rooms for the day as well because there was a huge family reunion here while we were here that took over the whole pool every afternoon. Only one elevator working too. My husband just killed a huge roach which was my last straw! I can't believe what we payed for this place! The location is great but there are plenty of other condos on this strip that would be much better worth the extra money. Never again! read more
