Just brought my little man here for a hair cut. Actually, I needed his hair cut fixed. I had taken him to another business for a haircut last week and at first it looked okay because it was styled but after we washed it, I could tell it was NOT ok. Sterling Shears came highly recommended by a few mom groups, so we headed over. Kelly was his stylist and is also the manager. She was so friendly, easy to talk to and did a wonderful job on my little man. The space is big and clean. You get an overall good vibe here. I'm so glad we came. Plus, you can't beat a $15 dollar kids haircut. While everyone else is upping their prices and charging so much for a kids hair cut, sterling shears stays consistent with their prices and you can get a great experience. Kelly was awesome again! Her associate, I'm assuming her name is Joy because she didn't introduce herself (it's ok to be shy so that didn't bother me), gave my 2 yr old a cut that was not at all what we discussed. No big deal any other day, but tomorrow is family photos and his curls are too short and stick up randomly making it look like a super uneventful cut. I highly recommend Kelly, great cut on my 4yr old again AND she's very personable. I'm just disappointed I didn't pay more attention while Joy was cutting my little guy's hair because it looks BAD. read more

just now NEW I called and made an appointment well in advance to come down here. I came 6 minutes late due to rush hour traffic (this was a Friday before the long weekend) so ran into some traffic on my way here. I was never informed when I made a booking that if you are late by 5 minutes, they automatically cancel your appointment, this after taking time off work and driving 5 miles to get here. I had been here several times and gave them my business several times, no more. They refused to even consider rebooking my appointment. I was told by a couple of people that they had great experiences here and so I thought I would give them a try too. I'll be regretting that for several months! Came in for a cut and it turned out horribly! I showed a picture of the style I wanted and was told by Victoria that it was no problem and easy to do. After she was done cutting she handed me a mirror to show what she had done. Because they don't even brush your hair while they are cutting or after, it was hard to see what had actually been done. Victoria told me when I got home to blow dry it and style it and it would look the way I wanted. When I got home and tried to style my hair I realized it was uneven and the cut was nowhere near the style I was told she could do. The cut is so bad and so uneven that I can only wear my hair in a ponytail while I wait for it to grow out so I can get the cut fixed. Fortunately, you can't tell it's uneven while in a ponytail, but unfortunately, the sides are so uneven that I can't even wear any cute tendrils. - ugh! read more

Not really as friendly as people say they are. Been twice now for my kids and all three that we have met are pretty cold and unwelcoming. Boys haircuts came out fine but my girl's was underwhelming. Heard about this place on Nextdoor. Went on a weekday so I didn't bother to "check in" online; which you can if you don't want to take chances in having to wait when you arrive. I'v been growing my hair out for 3 months due to a previous bad haircut at another place. I showed Kelly a few pics of the cut I wanted. It's difficult to fix a bad cut and still keep the length you have. She did a pretty good job fixing it while at the same time trying not to cut too much more off. Kelly was patient and listened. i booked an appointment for hair cut and I was there on time I told her to cut 2 to 3 inches she didn't cut the length that I want I even told her at the end please to cut more she refuse because another customer came in and she told me to come back in a few days to cut more so I went back in two days and she was extremely rude told me not to come again . Went there with my son. Clearly online and posted on their front door says walking welcome. That couldn't be further from the truth. When my son and I walked in we got a very cold shoulder thrown our way. An attitude like we didn't belong there. A lady asked if we had an appointment and I said no that I was a walk in. She then looked at me like I was crazy and said "SORRY WE ARE BOOKED ALLLLL DAY". There was no one waiting. They wouldn't even put me next. Why would they have posted in multiple places that walk ins are welcome when that's clearly not the case. I'd say don't bother with this place unless they already knew you. read more
