I have been to this restaurant 3 times during my extended stay in the Tri Cities. The food is good. I enjoy the view and will likely come back. The coffee however is terrible, more like brown water so skip that or order espresso. The only negative thing is that it wasn't until the 3rd visit that I saw the tiny writing on the outside of the menu that said 3.4% sure charge for using a credit card. Now I know why my last bill seemed off. Wish they were more upfront about that. Had I known when I paid I would have paid cash. Seems excessive during a pandemic and like they are taking advantage of people not using cash. Use debit instead! read more

On February 17, 2023 my husband and I went to Sterlings for breakfast about 9 AM Had the eggs, Benedict, asparagus, tomatoes, avocado, and hash browns. Delicious fresh. My husband had the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns no gristle in the chicken fried steak excellent fresh.. Very pleasant place to eat waitress very friendly. Our compliments to the chef however, the service staff could be more attentive. The young man who took us to our table only used hands gestures, he did not speak to us. I had dinner here, and I wish I would've left after seeing the state of their clapped out salad bar:/ I decided to go with a broiled chicken salad, basically because I wanted chicken that wasn't deep fried. While all the food was low quality, I was blown away when I realized the chicken was cold, it wasn't cooked fresh for my salad. The worst part is I got food poisoning, I've been in bed all day between visits to the bathroom. I would recommend avoiding this place. Soggy, paper thin crab cakes, clam strips that were more batter than clam, and a dish they called "street corn" where they had put so much cayenne pepper on top that it was inedible. Recently two friends and I had lunch at your restaurant. My friend who is gluten free/celiac ordered a salad. The salad arrived with croutons on top. My friend politely apologized saying, " I'm sorry I can't eat this." Our server, answered "why not?"" She explained she was gluten free. No reply from server. When the next salad arrived, it was set down, no comment. Our salads were a pile of iceberg lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 cucumber pieces, a wilted carrot stick. Sad. Server asked "fries?," My friend again explained she couldn't have them if unless they were fried in a dedicated fryer. No answer. Burger arrived with a hunk of iceberg laying on top. Bad presentation. I would refer you to Red Robin, for an example, who serve a burger, neatly lettuce wrapped. I'd ordered an Hawaiian. The pineapple was chunks, were they out of rings? The bun was too small, substandard quality and not adequate to support the filling. It got soggy, of course the pineapple fell out, it was a mess. Our companion having breakfast, received a coffee refill, server turned and walked away, no refills for our iced tea and decaf. Server returned to ask if I wanted a box, brought the tab. She wouldn't look at my companion, she was not happy, had a cold attitude. Your servers are usually efficient and friendly. We were there for a nice lunch, not to educate your untrained snotty staff. We've eaten breakfasts there, which are usually good. Our friend had a breakfast omelette, it included a lot of cheese that didn't really seem like cheese, he couldn't eat it. When someone is put in the embarrassing position to explain what can't be eaten, and as a result is ignored, it creates a negative atmosphere. Not good! We've eaten at many restaurants who don't even blink when gluten free is mentioned. Often it doesn't need to be, because it's already noted on the menu. Being gluten free isn't something people dream up, it causes them to become really sick, per Dr. it doesn't leave the system for 30 days. My friend paid the bill, was charged the 17.00 + same as a full meal. She left a nice tip, being way more gracious than your server. Your prices do not support your lunch/dinner menu. read more

Sorry y'all. I never negatively post...but...we paid over $60 for two entrees and 2 creme brûlée. Not complaining about the price, but when paying that much you'd expect some flavor! Pretty sure the chef forgot to season anything. The salmon was very watery and bland, but boasted garlic butter. The pasta was sad limp noodles with a dash of canned red sauce, and the "stuffed potato" looked like this... I'm also I'm pretty sure that the clam chowder was Campbell's canned soup. I know we are in a pandemic and everyone is struggling, but I expected better Sterlings! This was bad diner food at best. Our waiter was great, the food on the other hand, was very underwhelming. It didn't take long for the food to be served, and I can see why now. I ordered a ribeye with pasta and upgraded the salad to a salad bar trip. The salad bar was good, the steak wasn't seasoned and the "pasta" was dry spaghetti noodles with plain marinara sauce. After I took this picture, I had my husband ask for more sauce for the noodles. The sauce we received was a cold red sauce that tasted like ketchup. I'm guessing it was just cold marinara, but it tasted a lot sweeter. My husband enjoyed the flavor of his steak, however, he ordered it medium rare and when he cut into it, it was purple. The crab cakes were more like savory pancakes that were very gummy and doughy. I am not sure if there was actually crab meat in them at all. The cod was tough. The tartar sauce was tasteless and served in a plastic cup splattered with the sauce, as if my serving was squeezed and sputtered out of the bottom of the bottle. My husband ordered a steak, cooked rare. It was barely pink in the center and both ends were beyond well done. They were burnt, if we're being honest. The mashed potatoes looked like a sloppy pile of white mush with thin brown gravy chased across it. For the prices, the food should have been far better than what we received. Usually don't write reviews but today I had a horrible experience with the manager, food was super salty and when we went to pay and asked for a manager he was very defensive and did not want to help us. We understand things can get hectic and busy and we really do not like complaining but this food was terrible and when we asked for a discount since we didn't even eat the food he said they don't have salt in the kitchen and the food we ordered gets shipped in pre cooked? We were very disappointed. Waited over an hour for our food. After ordering 30 Minutes later we were informed they ran out of filets. We had tried-tips and ribeye. Visiting my daughter , we are always looking for new places that can accommodate her specific diet needs but also have a personality all to itself. When we first walked in I expected a much more expensive menu. The decor is eclectic leaning towards a bit nicer than most. Unique artwork adorns the walls and the windows have a beautiful view of the river. My daughter and I opted to dine in the bar which seemed well stocked but I was thrown by paper coasters with "Dennys Style" coffee cups on the table with an oversized creamer basket. I took the liberty to move these off the small table to the bar, it's there I think I may have offended our server/slash bartender. I can't recall the last time I left with out tipping at all. A background in service industry and as a bar owner kinda ingrains to leave SOMETHING, but I couldn't. I've never had such an unpleasant server....ever! I ordered a slightly dirty Sapphire Martini, I received the Dead Sea! I've been doing these my whole life and 1st time I sent one back and asked to skip the olive juice. The food was excellent. Seafoods were too salty, Crepes was cover in syrup, steak was probably the best they can do while covid, but I ordered medium rare and I get a close to well done piece of meat. We had breakfast here on our trip to Richland last weekend. Food and service was very good but be aware of the 3 and 1/2 percent tax they charge you if you use your credit card. We used it and saw the sign afterwards. The cashier explained to us that they would have to pay the credit card company that money and customers would benefit by getting miles on their card. They also said they use it to keep their prices down which have gotten higher anyway like every other restaurant. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars for their female maitre d'. We chose this restaurant because they have outside dining, and we heard the staff was masked. They do, and they were. Except Ms. Maitre d'. She was masked but refused to cover her nose, even when asked politely to do so. All the other staff wore their masks properly. One of our party is undergoing chemo, and eating out is a big treat, but the chemo means he has a compromised immune system. Ms. Maitre d' was quite belligerent when politely asked to wear her mask properly and snidely said, "Have a nice day." Will I eat here again? Yes, as long as they have outside dining. Do I recommend it to others? Only to those who are vaxxed and do not have a compromised immune system. Or to those who don't care if they get/share the virus. read more
