Saved this review until after my 3rd visit so i could give an honest assessment on Consistency, Professionalism, and Service....Everyone goes to barber shops looking for certain things. Maybe its comfortable place to be yourself who has a game on the TV and music you like playing overhead. Or possibly it's for the best barbers around; professionals who take pride in thier handiwork and business as a whole. The list could go on but I can say I found this and more at Ace of Fades Barber Shop and in Executive Barber Steve Duroseau! Booking ONLINE was easy, no wait, no drama. He holds himself to a high standard and I can say exceededs them all. He listened to what I wanted and asked my opinion the entire time even though HE is the professional. He was personable (found out we have to common associations), and very respectful. No rif raff loitering making people scared to enter. All barbers friendly; walk in and always acknowledged and immediately greeted. I've been to a few barbers in Phoenix since my move here and can honestly say they are not all created equal. I reserved this review until i had a 2nd cutting and I have to say that Steve is the best barber I have seen in my 12 + years here in AZ. Ironically I lived by this shop 4 years ago and never been. It was a coincidence that my cousin moved into the place and was looking for a barber. I recommended they check out Ace of Fades because it was walking distance. Little did I know they would be recommending Steve as their go-to barber. This man's motto is on point and I appreciate that I can book an appointment online, I can pay with a card, AND the cut is quick and clean. He is now who I am recommending to all my friends. We all know going to a barbershop can be an all day thing and I appreciate that he is breaking the "meta" as us gamers would say. After driving all over Phoenix looking for a barber who could cut my natural (African American) hair, I happened upon Steve on Yelp. I called his number and I immediately knew he was something special! He was very professional when he told me about his services and texted me information on how to book online. My first experience at Mr. Duroseau's shop and it was perfect. I had over 15 inches of my natural hair cut off into a tapered style. Steve asked me great questions about how I planned to style it, looked at pictures for reference and I ended up with a cut that's even better then I imagined. I feel like a transformed, new woman!
