Steve knows what he's doing, but he saw me coming and I'm sure he will with you too. He quotes me $125 to clear a drain and then gets here and wants $250 because he has to remove my toilet to get a root out... I'll bet you from start to finish he was barely here for half an hour... it was 100% labor, and he charged me $250. He also did a crappy job putting the toilet back too. It wasn't level and the caulking was spotty and uneven. It also wasn't seated in the same spot so you can see the outline of where it was previously. Then, he runs out before I can even inspect what was done or ask questions and did not clean up whatsoever. I've used Steve in the past so I was really surprised by this encounter. read more

I called Steve parsons for repair to 3 showers. he sent a man named Alex. Alex never hardly worked on the showers--leaving saying he was "just learning" and would send his boss back the next day. BUT, he spent 15 minutes walking all over my house commenting on how nice it is and asking when we'd be gone and when I was home alone, and a lot of very inappropriate questions. I have been using Steve Parsons for the past year for all kinds of plumbing issues. I have a 1959 house with some old pipes that require routine care. Last year I had a terrible sewer blockage affecting the entire house. I called three reputable plumbers, but none of them were able to unclog the drain. One of the plumbers even tried to hydro through the pipes but was unsuccessful. I received Steve's number from a family friend and gave him a try. Wow, I am so glad I did, because he was able to get through the clogged drain. About three months ago, I called Steve Parsons again for a leak coming from the Delta shower cartridge, which is located behind the shower handle. This was not an easy fix considering the age of my home, but once again he fixed the problem. Steve and Alex have worked on different projects for me and have always come through. I like that they're no-nonsense and give me all my options. They're usually able to come the same-day or next-day, which is great for me because I have rental properties where I need a fix fast. As one other person mentioned, I do feel like the prices have gone up a bit. I did have another guy offer to do a job for much cheaper, but later I found out he was unlicensed- which always worries me. Can you find an unlicensed guy on craigslist to do the job for cheaper? Steve and Tom came to my house to help with clearing some drain lines. I called them early in the morning the day after Christmas and they were at my house by noon. They were very respectful of my home and were extra careful to make sure they did not create more mess than was necessary and made sure everything was clean when they were done. Before Steve came out he asked me to describe what the issues were and told me my issues might not be just one simple issue which I already knew because I had several issues going on and had been trying to fix it myself already. He quoted me a reasonable inspection fee and said he would quote me a fee to resolve what he found once he found out what was going on. The fee to resolve my issues was also reasonable. My main sewer line is 85 years old and Steve recommended that I get it scoped to ensure that nothing more severe was wrong but he did not use high-pressure sales tactics or try to increase the quoted fee or grow the scope of work to get more money.
