The food here is always great along with all the staff. It is like a little bit of the Midwest in North Fort Myers. Steve greets you or one of the friendly staff. Georgia is always great & smiles while serving you. She is wonderful. The fried chicken & breaded tenderloin are always yummy with plenty left over to take home. I tried STEVE's Place because some people were telling us the new owner has really stepped,up her game , so we went and were surprised that there was a short wait, and it definitely was short. I had the appetizers because I wasn't my usual hungry. I had the wings with sweet Thai Chili and onion rings and a half sweet and half unsweetened iced tea. The service was amazing even though the place was totally packed. The wings were big and totally delicious, the onion rings were just how I like them, battered and absolutely delicious. My drink was done perfectly. The ambience was definitely inviting, it made me feel as I had just come home for dinner with a very unique family that welcomed us like family. My waitress Mary, was very good despite the fact that it was her first night, if she wasn't sure of something she would quietly ask Rachel, who is the new owner and she would tell her very nicely, just like she was family too. If you haven't stopped here yet, please treat yourself to a great meal and great place to go. They also have wine and beer. Been driving by this place for a while and decided to stop for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small but comfortable and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly, patient and helpful. My husband had the Ultimate BLT with onion rings. He loved it. He said the onion rings were crispy snd tasty. When he bite into the ring, the onion did not pull away with the bite. My open-face turkey sandwich with mash potatoes and coleslaw was good. Portion sides were generous so we look more than half to munch on later. We will be back. Steve's Place has wonderful comfort food. My husband always orders the pork tenderloin sandwich. He's a Hoosier & claims the sandwich is the real thing. We drive over 45 mins for this sandwich. The tenderloin is so big it's inches larger than the bun. Today I had the fish & chips. It was delicious. Lightly battered deep fried cod. Not greasy. Last time I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. It was homemade & wonderful. The servers are helpful, polite & fun. They obviously enjoy their work. Steve's Place isn't a large restaurant & at busy times you might have a bit of a wait, but it's well worth it. Wow! What a fantastic food experience! If you love pork tenderloin, you gotta' come here..they are as big as the plate! Delicious hamburgers (cooked to order-my medium rare was perfect), home made mashed potatoes, a great menu with a variety of options. I had to go here because I saw everyone on Facebook posted about the Hoosier sandwich and it looked so good. The portion of this breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is massive so you are sure to bring leftovers home. I got mine with just lettuce and mayo and the lettuce was very crisp and fresh. The pork tenderloin was nice and crunchy and a perfect golden brown. Also the price was extremely fair. The sandwich was very tasty as were the French fries on the side. I will certainly come back to Steve's Place for another delicious meal with large portions and fair prices. If you have to wait for seating, it is worth the wait. read more

Just had to go again! This time for breakfast. My wife ordered the Spinach Mushroom Swiss Bacon Omelette With Home Fries and I ordered a Full Order of Biscuits and Gravy with Home Fries. The omelette was LOADED with all the goodies. The B's and G's come with two biscuits, fluffy, not stuffy and a tasty sausage loaded gravy seasoned just right with black pepper. Proprietor Steve hit upon a great formula: big portions, moderate prices and a menu that appeals to his patrons. My interest was piqued on two counts: the restaurant is minutes from my home, and apparently two signature dishes -- broasted chicken and pork tenderloin -- (the Hoosier) -- have given Steve's Place local acclaim. While good, broasted is nothing more than fried chicken. If blindfolded, I don't know if I could differentiate my chicken from T's fried pork. I mixed a little honey with hot sauce to give my meal zing. Let's talk side dishes. In addition to soup or salad, entrees come with the vegetable of the day and a starch of one's choosing. Today's vegetable is string beans. Not my favorite. (My husband, a string bean eater, said his were overcooked and under-seasoned.) Our server -- a really nice person -- offered me coleslaw instead. Homemade, creamy and delicious. T ordered cheesy grits as his side; he wasn't keen on the type of cheese they used, but he liked the grits. Since baked potatoes aren't available mid-afternoon, I went with fries. If you're a fan of McDonald's thin cut potatoes, you'll like Steve's. For those who enjoy this type of meal, disregard my three star rating (which you probably already have.) I go for a little more spice and a little less fry. read more

My husband and I have been there many times in 7 years. We always had a great meal. Last week was another story!! Our waitress was wonderful and very accommodating. Our soup didn't have any flavor. Steve's Place 7-19-20 This place is known for its Broasted Chicken and Hoosier Platters. We arrived about 11:25 am on a Friday. The place was not that busy and we got a table right away. This place was neat and clean. The waitress came over right away to give us menus. I ordered something different than the Broasted Chicken this time. I had the Broasted Chicken before, and it was very good in fact it's the best place to go if you're hungry for that in this area. We ordered the Turkey, Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw platter. Our order came out quickly and it was good. The only problem we found was it could have been a lot hotter. It was just warm but not cool enough to return it. By the time we got down to the last couple bites everything was cold. All in all the food was good and if it had been hotter I would not have subtracted a couple stars on this review. Very popular place in North Ft. Myers. We have to wait for less than 10 minutes for seat. You can see the popularity due to people wait for lunch. By the time we finished the lunch, there still three groups of people wait for seat. In the menu, there are several items in the menu is good. Such as two pork chops, steak chop, catfish, open face roast pork. We got the blackened grouper and Cajun pair chicken breast. Even the server explained the blackened is Cajun style, unfortunately is not the Cajun style that I want. I like spicy sweet type and need to grill. This grouper is pan flat plate cooking style not flame grill. It is less tasty. Overall they do have good service, very quick and notice table need. read more

I had a hankering for broasted chicken and Googled it and Steve's Place came up so since it was close I decided to order the broasted chicken dinner all white meat!! Holy moly it came with 2 giant breasts and 2 wings with mashed potatoes, corn, salad and slaw! The chicken was perfect, hot and steamy!! The price of $16.99 is a great price. It's 3 meals for me. Wow! The caramel ice cream pie is insanely large and delicious! The menu offering is mostly fried foods. Some homemade, some frozen. French fries are just bagged frozen fries. Sweet potato waffle or regular cut. Grilled chicken sandwich was moist and tasty with a nicely grilled bun. Staff is nice and attentive. Restaurant looks a little rundown. White walls makes it easy to look dirty with use and everything felt like it had a film to it (menus, chairs, tables, door handles etc) It's cheap and you get what you pay for. Would I rave about it? No, but I would tell you to get a giant slice of the ice cream pie to go! read more

This was our second time there, we walked in and realized that all the tables were full so we sat at the empty bar and was told we had to wait outside. we live in N Fort Myers and had eaten there once and enjoyed the food and wanted to try something else. The waitress yelled from halfway down the tables and screamed "You have to wait outsid"I), my husband said why can't we sit at the bar and order a coke or something until a table opens up. Talk about RUDE. another couple was waiting for their meal and asked us if we would like to sit at their table and they would sit at the bar. I thanked them for their kindness but "BIG MOUTH" was still garbling away. We had a lovely waitress, ordered our meal and have no desire to return. Trying out the restaurants in my new location has been a new adventure and Steve's Place has been an excellent find. Have had three meals there so far and all have been a delight. The food has been of an over abundance and quality each time. The service group has been very helpful as to recommendations and pointing out specials. Steve Sexton sold his Alva Diner and started a small facility near his home in North Fort Myers a few years ago. He focused on lunch and dinner and do breakfast on the weekends. If you ask a local about Steve's Place, many will answer with the best Broasted Chicken and the best "Hoosier" - pork tenderloin sandwich. Of course, they offer soups and salads, and specialties like Catfish, Mahi, shrimps, steaks, and burgers. We stop by for lunch on a Thursday, we opted for a Miami Dolphin (grilled Mahi) sandwich and a cheese fry. They were well prepared and cheese fry was delicious! Steve's Place is smaller than his old Alva Diner but the staff is always friendly, caring and smiling! Steve's Place is an excellent restaurant with different price points to suit your taste and budget. Good job, Steve! This is our local go-to diner whenever we are in the neighborhood. read more
