Keeping my two stars for my review because they don't tell you there's a "packaging" fee when you order takeout (or pickup). But the meal itself is worth 3 stars. This is the third time I've been to this restaurant for a pickup and the first time I've really looked at the receipt. It was always odd that there was an extra line item that said "packaging" and had a weird amount. Thinking it was a charge for utensils, I thought that Rib City was just trying to recoup some money for not having you stay and eat. Ordering this afternoon, April 15, 2025, we specifically said (on the phone) "we do not need any plastic ware. Please do not put that on the bill. Do not give us any forks, knives or spoons". There was no comment from the person taking our order about the request. With that silence, we placed an R.I.B Rewards member order of "Buy a rack of baby back ribs, get a rack of baby back ribs - free". Telling the hostess on the phone our sides, we finally got a response and were told it was going to be over $40, "but the discount will come off for the second ribs when you come in and pay". She couldn't tell us what the out the door price was because the computer wouldn't let her until we showed up. Once we got there, the meals were already packaged in a bag and waiting for us on a table, even though we were told it'll be ready in "20 minutes" (it was about 15 since hanging up). The final price was $22.49 and it felt weird because that's a lot of local tax. Upon getting home and looking at the receipt, they charged $0.60 per meal as a "packaging" fee. No utensils were in the bag or in the boxes. Apparently they do a to go charge for every box they put together on one order, regardless of having utensils. So our added charge was $1.20. I know a lot of restaurants tack on fees for takeout orders, but somewhere it needs to be noted that Rib City does this. If they're not going to tell you (or correct you when you state you don't want the charge) on the phone when you place an order, then it needs to appear somewhere that someone can read it. All that crazy, the meal was massive. One order was a baked potato and slaw as the two sides while the other order had double fries. If anything is to be said about the cole slaw, it's that they seemed to have gotten a little bigger serving size in the meal and was better than the last time. The regret really was that the person should have gotten two baked potatoes because they saved one rack for another meal, and "it would have been nice to have another potato" [with it]. The order with the double fries, at first glance, looked like one serving. But after digging around in the order and seeing how much food really was there, there was enough for a second order. Both my ribs and the other ribs were "fall off the bone" good, as advertised. However, I did feel the need to utilize the extra sauce that came with the meal. If you're looking to take home a meal and share, go for the full rack and get two different sides - one for each person. However, be prepared that you're going to pay for the meal, for the tax and for the privilege of taking it home. It had to be said. read more

Little outdated inside but the food never disappoints. Ribs fall off the bone, okra is delicious and fresh. Our server Mary was very nice.

Rock solid BBQ at a good price. The restaurant smelled of Smokey food and the sauces were delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was well cooked and just Smokey enough. The Mac and Cheese was nice and cheesy. A great stop and we will be back read more

Wow! I had the best experience here! I got the half rack of ribs lunch special, with Mac and cheese and green beans for my sides, and everything was absolutely perfect! I liked the ribs because they didn't come super saucy, but all the sauces are at the table for you to add to your liking. The original was sweet and delicious, and I liked mixing it with the Carolina gold or the vinegar. The sauces were the perfect complement to the ribs. There were only five ribs which I thought would not be enough, but it was the perfect amount. The mac and cheese wasn't too creamy. Just cheesy and soooo comforting. It went down so easy. It went perfect with the green beans which were probably canned, but that is exactly what I wanted and expected. We ended with the coconut pie. It was big enough to share! It tasted like cool whip and pudding and had a very nice crust. The sweet tea was delicious and our waitress was amazing! I can't wait to eat here again! read more

3.5 stars. It was dinner time and I hadn't decided what to eat. While on my way to the store, I drove past, saw the sign and made a u-turn. The place wasn't too busy so I was greeted and seated right away. I pretty much already knew that I wanted ribs so that made ordering the full rack with a side salad an easy choice. I asked that the ribs not come with the extra sauce on them and they didn't. This was great because I got to taste the other 3 sauces that they have. I preferred the one described as having a vinegar base. The salad was fresh and crisp. The housemate blue cheese dressing was perfect. The ribs were a little tiny bit dry - like right at the beginning of being over warmed. Nothing egregious enough to warrant sending them back...or to keep me from coming back. I was already eyeing the rib special on the daily special menu. Nonetheless they offered to take them back or replace. I graciously declined and ate my dinner. Well, Delicious flavor but VERY small portions ribs were very small to begin with and not meaty. It has been awhile since I had been here. My husband and I joined some friends for dinner here about a couple of years ago. (I think) Anyway, my husband and I decided that a little BBQ would be just the thing! When we entered this establishment, we were greeted by the friendly hostess and were seated in a booth by a window. and got us our sweet teas. The menu has been designed as a placemat as to be able to be recycled after use. My husband and I ordered our dinners and enjoyed conversation with another couple from a nearby table. Our server brought me my pulled pork dinner with homemade Mac and cheese and a side salad along with my hubby's baby back ribs with homemade Mac and cheese and a side salad. Our food was very delicious and the baby back ribs literally melted in your mouth. Their mac and cheese was very creamy and flavorful. Side salad was also freshly made and crisp yummy. Our server was prompt, friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. She was excellent. The place was very clean, staff very professional and efficient while food was top notch! Then we waited about 20 minutes as everybody else around us kept getting food appetizes before us dinner before us and we go to talk to higher ranking person manager. Stopped in for dinner and I ordered the barbeque chicken with corn and coleslaw. It came with a large piece of texas toast that looked great but tasted very strange with an odd after taste so i didnt eat it. The barbeque chicken was ok, just a tad dry. The coleslaw was average. The BBQ was great especially the steak and the ribs as my mother said it was finger licking good she doesn't eat ribs as much like she use to so she decided to try the BBQ ribs full rack and once she finished eating all of them she said these are delicious and finger licking good! I had dinner tonight here with my wife and kids. We had ribs, pulled pork and chicken tenders with fries, baked beans and Mac n cheese. The ribs were overcooked and very dry. They don't remove the membrane from the ribs (very amateurish) so you get a plastic feel to each bite. The pulled pork was nasty, you can tell that it is kept in a metal kitchen pan because it was served in a broth of it's own fat. The chicken tenders we're the highlight of the meal. Stopped at Rib City (or Rib Cit-ay as we like to call it) after a day of shopping and no desire to go back to our beach house and cook. The reviews on Yelp seemed favorable so we gave it a try. I am such a fan of Rib Cit-ay! The babybacks were small, but tender and the BBQ was delicious. I had a baked potato with mine. Kids under 4 get a FREE chicken leg and fries. That alone would have this place on my regular rotation if I lived in town. I love the fact that they appreciate that she isn't going to each that much so why charge me. Thank you, Rib Cit-ay! First off I am an OLD TIMER in Fort Myers. Rib City ribs are the second best ribs in the area. Mine are better. Slow smoked on a hickory/charcoal Webber rotisserie. But I regress. I get the St. Louis cut ribs (I prefer them to Baby Backs). I get the beans and Cole slaw. The ribs are great without adding any BBQ sauce. I usually can not finish all and have to take the rest home. Just as an aside: It is better to eat them there while they are fresh and hot. read more

The plus is that is cheap, the minus is that the ribs are pretty skimpy. But they are tasty and so are the sides. Your ribs are done in under 10 minutes so it's kind of like fast food BBQ. Didn't hate it but no desire to rush back. read more
