This restaurant is about 4.5 stars restaurant. Menu is very simple. It has a choices of lobster rolls , shrimp rolls, hot dog or chicken salad. They also variety soup choices. I got the regular first mate rolls combo. It comes with drink, chip, and a regular size Connecticut lobster rolls. The roll is packed with crawl and body lobster meat. It is fresh and bouncy. Oh my goodness! This little shop is a treasure! Friend and I wanted to try some really good lobster rolls and the reviews for this place were excellent. Entering the shop, it's well lit and clean looking. There's very few places to sit, maybe 4 tables. We ordered at the counter, with the server explaining how the menu works. Being minimalists, we ordered the small warm lobster roll with butter (and a pickle on the side). I also ordered the shrimp and crab chowder. They also have bags of potato chips. While waiting, the server explained how the shop came to be; she was very friendly and accommodating. After a short wait, our food was delivered. The chowder was amazing, hot and perfectly spiced. The lobster rolls were what we hoped for - lots of lobster and delicious. It's a bit pricey but it is, after all, lobster. We'll definitely go back. We'll save it for special a occasion. read more

Family owned and "new" ownership from the neighborhood. So... fantastic staff/owner. Super friendly and helpful. The two lobster rolls were good with a nice amount of crab. The buns are delicious! The sweet chili is not spicy nor does it overpower the lobster. The cilantro was very light to almost non-existent. We had the regular sizes lobster rolls. The chicken salad was, according to my mother-in-law, very good. We did not get the combo as we don't care for soda/pop. The store has a few tables and a clean bathroom. You aren't going to get full but it is worth the time and money to stop and enjoy. read more

I have not had lobster rolls except on my way to Afghanistan a few times with the military and we stopped in Bangor, Maine for fuel. The airport served fresh lobster rolls in their food court. I have been looking for a place ever since. The Hungry Captain met my expectations. The warm lobster roll with mayo and butter was excellent and my wife had the sweet chili shrimp roll. Both came with chips and a pickle. We also had the excellent shrimp bisque and sodas. We live very close and will be back again now that we've found this place. read more

The Hungry Captain Cape Corral 9-19-25 We just got back from Maine and had to stop by for some Lobster Rolls. When we walked in this place was very clean and neat as a pin. They had 2 kiosk or a large counter you can order from. Menu was laid out well and Mairelis who was working behind the counter could not have been any more friendly and helpful to us as it was our first time there. We both ordered the New England Maine Lobster Roll Combo. This Cold Lobster Roll came with Lobster on a Toasted Bun, Mayo, Chips, Pickle Spear and Slice of Lemon. I also ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder Soup. Our order was delivered to our table in reasonable time, it looked very appetizing. The Bun was overflowing of Lobster, and it was toasted to a golden brown just the way I like it. The Clam Chowder was amazing I just loved this Chowder and I believe it was the best I had in the Cape so far. Mairelis came back to check on us and even ask us if we wanted any Desert as they had Cheesecake and Tres Leches. I believe this place is a hidden gem and everyone needs to try it. As far as prices we just got back from Maine and the average price for Lobster Rolls up there were 28 dollars and ours were 24 here which is not out of line. You must put this place on your stop by list you won't be sorry I know we were not. I must give this place 5out of 5 stars. I for one can't wait to go back. Found on Yelp. My wife and I split 3 small rolls. The garlic lobster, the butter and mayo and the shrimp with sweet chili sauce. The butter& mayo is hands down the best with the garlic in close 2nd. The shrimp seemed to miss/need something else. We also got a small lobster bisque to try and were very pleased with that. Spent $60 after tip. Not bad. They do have larger sizes but we just wanted to try a variety to see. Would happily eat here again read more

Recently picked up takeout from The Hungry Captain. Tucked into a sort of strip mall off of Pine Island in Cape Coral. Ordered the small lobster roll warm with mayo and butter. Order was ready and waiting when I arrived. Shop was clean. Service was fast and friendly. I was hungry so I decided to take a bite in the car. The roll was very small with two pieces of lobster and a few bits and strands. Barely visible. Not heaping over the top as photos suggest. The order came with a pickle and a lemon wedge. I also had a small bag of chips, and a lemonade. The roll was so small after 2 bites it was gone. The bread was nice and warm tho. Soft and buttery. It just wasn't enough of anything. Lemonade was watery. Chips just a bite as well. Plain flavored-their choice. Nothing much to this at all. Which should be more at this price point. read more
