Liz and I stopped at Rib City on Palm Beach Boulevard off State Road 80 in Fort Myers on our way home and had a great experience. The setting is casual and comfortable with a classic BBQ feel. The dining area was clean, tables were wiped down promptly, and everything looked organized. Service was attentive from the start. We were greeted quickly and seated without delay. Our server kept drinks filled, checked in at the right times, and delivered the food promptly. Orders were accurate and the staff moved efficiently. I ordered the burger and fries. The burger had a solid sear, melted cheddar, and fresh red onion on a lightly toasted bun that held together. The fries were hot, crisp, and properly seasoned. Liz ordered the ribs with baked beans and mac and cheese. The ribs were tender with a rich barbecue glaze and visible smoke char. The meat pulled cleanly from the bone without being overcooked. The baked beans had a balanced sweetness, and the mac and cheese was creamy with good cheddar flavor. Liz cleared her plate. Got takeout through their website, which was ready quickly. Their online vendor tells you a pickup time but doesn't send a second text when the food is ready, so I probably waited a little longer in the parking lot than I needed to. Ribs were smoky and tender, and the baked beans were delicious. I wouldn't recommend the brisket- it was tough and dry. Pretty disappointing, but they are called Rib City not Brisket City. Maybe it would be better earlier in the day when it's fresh. I'll have to try eating in at a table next time. read more

I've been to this location to many times to count now. This is usually my go to for lunch as my job site is not to far off. I've had nothing but great experiences here with the staff. Everyone is always welcoming and helpful. I've ordered multiple items from their menu and have yet to find one i did not enjoy. I was very skeptical at first about their ribs as many chain restaurants don't really follow through with the quality of the food. I can whole heartedly say that this is not the case here. Their ribs are fall of the bone every-time i've ordered. I most recently discovered their secret menu item "sex on the farm" which consists of chicken tendered smothered with cheese and bacon over waffle fries. A gift from god! I stopped by here to pick up a whole slab of ribs for my boyfriend. One of his favorite foods is ribs. This was completely unplanned. I was driving down the road and saw a big sign that said Rib City! Well, seems they should have good ribs. They do! The staff I encountered were very friendly. The nice hostess up front who took my to go order and I enjoyed a quick conversation over our color choices for iPhones. My wait for my to go order was really short. Less than 10 minutes and they had quite a few patrons at the time. The prices were great. A slab of St. Louis style ribs is $18.99, half slab $9.99. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I asked for them plain and sauce on the side. They gave me plenty of sauce on the side but they came with sauce on them as well. It wasn't heavy and maybe it's impossible to get them plain. Not a deal breaker but it would have been nice to have them plain. The ribs were really tasty. Each one had a lot of meat. I selected the "tangy" sauce from a selection of three. I know one of the others was "sweet". We would definitely stop in again for more ribs if we are in the area! Came in for lunch with the family and enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was tasty and the ambiance was quite country. We were all happy with our meals. Wasn't out of this world but it was very good. My wife and I shared a rack and a half of baby back ribs and they were tasty. Their max and cheese side is really good. My dad had their brisket and he was happy with his meal. They serve pretty large drinks which is a plus and even when you manage to finish one, they are quick to refill it. I start with this restaurant and I have been to all their chain in Florida. If you like rib, this is the one to go. This restaurant is not in Ft. Myers. It is 3 miles away from east of I-75. The food matches the name of the restaurant. I have been here for the past 12 years and never disappointed by their ribs. The rib is slow cook and marinated with the barbecue sauce. Most of the rib place put the barbecue sauce after there are grilled. This place grills with it. The meat is easily separate from the bone. Nothing will attach to the bone and you can lick it clean to the bones. The food is not limited to the ribs. They also have slice pork I like. The lunch special is affordable. The Pulled Pork is typically the goto item on my first pass to generate an overall rating in my travels. The Pulled Pork here was about the worst I ever had. Dry, lack of any appreciable smoke flavor, spiced with more red pepper flakes than humans should ingest, and a "sweet" sauce, with zero degree of sweetness. About as close to inedible as it gets. My wife loves their baby back ribs. I tend to be more critical. If all you want is baby back ribs prepared with the sauce cooked in, this is your place! (and it's really bland) Portions on the side dishes are small. The baked (BBQ) beans were more sauce than bean. The real deal breaker though was the smoked turkey. I felt like I'd been swept back to Odessa, Texas; from the surroundings of lots of rednecks to food that any good ol' boy would devour without caring about the true tastes of the food. I really wanted to like this place. It has a catchy name, and I really like ribs. But sadly the ribs were on the tough side, and only mildly flavorful. I had the spare ribs, with coleslaw and corn on the cob The latter two were good. And the person I ate with really enjoyed his ribs, so maybe I just got a bad batch. The place is a little on the small side, and was packed at 5 o'clock on a Friday night. Parking lot is small, but it seems adequate. The service was great, and our waitress often returned to check on us and see if we needed anything. I would give the place another try, since it may have just been the ribs I had that were a little tough.
