Absolutely THE best. I wish every medical professional who is in the position to administer Novocain would learn from Dr. Steve.

Originally, he thought maybe it was fluke (about the toothache), and was hoping it was just temporary, but after a few days when it didn't go away, I ended up taking my dad to see my dentist - Dr. Steven Kumasaka in Kaneohe. After Dr. Steve looked at my father's tooth, he knew exactly what was causing the pain, and decided to refer my dad to "Oral Surgery Hawaii" because my dad had excessive bleeding (probably due to my dad taking blood thinners) in the past, when Dr. Steve had to remove a tooth for my dad. Oral Surgery Hawaii has three offices - they have an office in town, at the Ala Moana building, an office in Aiea, & an office in Kaneohe. Upon calling Oral Surgery Hawaii, I elected to make an appointment for my dad at the office in town because it was close to my workplace where I could easily drop off, and pick up my dad. Dr. Craig Yamamoto was the oral surgeon who took care of my dad, and I must say that he did an outstanding job doing my dad's surgery as there was minimum bleeding, & the procedure wasn't to painful for him either. The staff at Oral Surgery Hawaii was very professional, and informative. They explained to me on what to do for my dad after the surgery, as well as the staff following up the next day to see how my dad was doing. Nobody wants a tooth removed, but if you ever need something like this done, I can easily say that going to Oral Surgery Hawaii is a great place, and if you're lucky enough to get Dr. Craig Yamamoto, even better! (Although probably all of the doctors on staff are good! Lol!). Oral Surgery Hawaii does an array of procedures, looking at their website, I see they do the following types of procedures - 1. Dental Implants 2. Wisdom Tooth Removal 3. Full-Arch Restoration 4. Bone Grafting 5. Tooth Extractions 6. Impacted Canines 7. Orthognathic Surgery 8. Cleft Lip and Palate 9. Oral Pathology 10. Pre-Prosthetic Surgery 11. Other Tooth Replacement Procedures 12. Facial Trauma 13. Platelet-Rich Plasma Here's da link - https://oralsurgeryhawaii.com/procedures

He could not have made us feel more comfortable and cared for. He answered all our questions, went to work, and even though he took his time, it was over before we knew it. His team was welcoming, confident and thorough. Professionalism at its best...it's rare! Big thanks to Dr. Miriam Amjadi, and the office of Todd Goode who were both a tremendous blessing in helping us.

Dr. Nishimoto I believe his title is an oral surgeon....some kind of specialty dentist!…read moreWe came to see Dr. Nishimoto because my son had a tooth ache which I thought was due to an infected cavity. (Abscess). His cheek was swollen. We had seen his pediatric dentist at Tooth Buds (whom we also love by the way). Dr. Lauren is not our normal dentist, but she was great. She called Dr. Nishimoto to seek a second opinion in his specialty. They were able to take us the very next morning (my son wasn't in pain, maybe a 2/10). They fit us into their schedule and we were able to get in first thing the next morning. They even let us in the office BEFORE they opened to sign papers and get settled. We didn't wait long at all in the waiting room. Front desk staff were very friendly, office was clean and inviting. But my main point for the review is the CARE we got from Dr. Nishimoto. He is AMAZING with kids!!! OMG you could just tell he LOVES kids. He asked my son questions to determine what was going on. He saw my son for a follow up appt in a few days. For me as a mom, I was very worried because of all the horror stories you hear about infections in the mouth that can lead to DEATH. He was very attentive to my worry and concern. He took the time to explain to me what could be causing the swelling and pain and ruled out what it couldn't be such as mumps! I found our office visit to be very thorough. Turns out his diagnosis of what my son had was correct and my son felt better the next day. If I can remember correctly he had like an infection of his salivary glands and some swollen lymph nodes. Thank you Dr. Nishimoto and staff for the above and beyond quality care. We hope to see you again in 10 years (and no sooner) when my son needs his wisdom teeth pulled!

Dr. Gregory Lung is the very best at what he does, not only technically but personally. He made certain that I was comfortable throughout the procedure (extraction of 4 teeth). Once he numbed me, I didn't feel a thing! Great experience! Dr. Lung's dental assistant, Labry, was just as good. She kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. She too was just as caring and professional! Throughout the procedure, Dr. Lung called out what was needed and not once did he have to repeat himself. (He also kept sharing the credit of the success of the procedure with Labry each time I thanked him!) This office is located in a building across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka. Parking lot ceiling kind of low but I was able to get my Tacoma in and out without incident. Free validated parking! Overall, a very positive experience! I will most definitely choose this place for all of my future dental needs! THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DR. LUNG, LABRY, EMILY (for lending me the squeeze stress ball), AND THE LADIES AT THE RECEPTION COUNTER! You folks made my entire experience pleasant!

I went in for a tooth extraction feeling incredibly nervous, but Dr. Arakawa and his team made the process seamless. I arrived at 10:40 am, completed paperwork, and was in the exam room shortly after. Local anesthesia was included, but they also offer laughing gas or IV sedation for those sensitive to pain--just be sure to come on an empty stomach if you choose those options. My appointment lasted for about an hour. Dr. Arakawa walked me through every step of the procedure, both before and during, which immediately put me at ease. He's thorough, professional, and compassionate. His staff were equally kind and provided a take-home bag with aftercare instructions, gauze, and my prescription. What really stood out was Dr. Arakawa's post-procedure care--he personally called to check in and ensure I was doing well. It's rare to see that level of care these days! If you're referred to Dr. Arakawa, don't hesitate. While I paid out of pocket, they accept most insurances, and it was worth every penny. I'm endlessly grateful to Dr. Arakawa and his team for turning a stressful experience into such a positive one.

Stress and grinding my teeth at night found me with an unexpectedly loose tooth and an infection…read more When my dentist told me I needed to have the tooth extracted, I made a mental list of things that would give me less anxiety to include sky diving and bungee jumping. Despite the anxiety, I called Oral Surgery Hawai'i and took their first available appointment. I got stuck in a bit of traffic and got lost looking for their office and despite it all, the staff was super nice and helpful when I called. I'm a terrible dental patient, with extreme anxiety and definitely not someone that any dental professional looks forward to seeing in their office. I explained to the dental assistant my fears and she was super supportive and validated me sharing that even she was a nervous patient. Dr. Kitamura came in and introduced himself, explained the procedure and asked if I had any questions. I told him that I'm a terrible patient, explained how to best work on me without me running from the office (iPods in, sunglasses on with eyes closed and no play by play). Dr. Kitamura did exactly what I asked, only instructing me when to breathe and take deep breaths. The dental assistant was absolutely amazing and provided comfort and assurance throughout the procedure. The extraction took what felt like less than 10 minutes and i walked out in zero pain and feeling a sense of total relief. I'll be going back in a few months to start the process of getting an implant, and although I'll continue to be a terrified patient, I know I'll receive nothing but superior gentle care. Given that I haven't taken to Yelp in forever to share a review, that should speak volumes of my experience here today. If you're terrified of oral surgery, this office may just be the place for you.
