Dr. Sugiki and his entire team at Kahala are absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, everyone is professional, friendly, and welcoming. Dr. Sugiki has a very approachable personality -- he doesn't feel like a stranger at all. He has that calm, fatherly/family-type presence that instantly puts you at ease. He's extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything clearly so you actually understand what's going on. You never feel rushed, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. They send text reminders for appointments, and you can even communicate with them via text, which makes scheduling and follow-ups super easy. Huge plus: they're open on Saturdays (though availability is limited), which is incredibly helpful if you work during the week. One thing I'll mention (just so others aren't surprised like I was) -- if you're paying out of pocket, a "routine cleaning" can end up being a few hundred dollars, not much less I originally assumed. Definitely ask about pricing beforehand and plan your yearly cleanings to fit your premiums, so you know what to expect. (That's totally on me!) Overall, i highly recommend Dr. Sugiki and his team if you're looking for a dentist who is professional, kind, accessible, and makes you feel comfortable. read more

First off I HATE DENTISTS!!! I've seen sooooo many different dentist in my lifetime and I'm only in my 40s. Dr. Sugiki is the most gentle dentist. He talks quietly to you explains things, asks if you need anything special to help with being comfortable, or if i need a quick breather. It also extends to his workers. They are loving and make you feel safe. They ask if I wanted a blanket to keep me warm, which really surprised me. I also had a health concern and a medication that he was unfamiliar with and left to research it to see how it would affect my cleaning process. He was thorough and precise. I was ashamed going in to see a new dentist since my last dentist was terribly rough, I hadn't gone to see a dentist for 2 years. Now, I have to say I have finally found a dentist that I dont have to take anxiety medication before going, and believe me, this speaks volumes!!! I'd recommend him to anyone who is afraid of dentist and being that they are located in Kahala Mall, parking is convenient and they even will text or call letting you know if you want to come in earlier if they are ahead of schedule. Dr. Sugiki and his team are so friendly and make you not feel ashamed, or judge you, or not even scold you (I've been scolded by dentist before) and it traumatized me. Dr. Sugiki and his team are amazing and they treat you life family! They are an amzing team which starts at the top with Dr. Sugiki.
