I saw that it was playing at the Palladium at a more convenient time, so I decided to there.. I'd actually forgotten about this theater. It was odd to me that the theater is on the 4th floor; I wasn't sure I was in the right place, and because I was there at an odd time (early Friday afternoon), there weren't any other people around. The young man at the concession stand (where they were also selling tickets) was very kind and courteous; he even asked if the amount of butter on my popcorn was ok. The theater area seems very upscale. There's a piano playing, and just a nice ambiance. The theaters themselves have the reclining seats and are comfortable. It was a little chilly in there (I was the only patron for a while, and then one other person entered the theater, so it was basically a private showing!), so I was glad to have my jacket as a blanket. The only thing I really didn't like was the parking situation. Yes, Birmingham gives you 2 hours free parking in the structures, but the movie runs just under that amount of time, and by the time you walk to & from the theater, you're over the 2 hours and end up having to pay.

The employees are always friendly, the food is amazing and the recliners are unmatched. Recently we went to see a movie that was close to 3 hours long and it was such a comfortable enjoyable time! I asked to see the manager (Rocco) to let him know and he was genuinely pleased to hear it! You can tell that Rocco and all of the employees take great pride in their work!

As the girl was complying with the request,, the manager snapped at her again to let her know she could take it out to her car if she couldn't follow the rules (that she was following). The guy working behind the concessions counter was a straight up jerk. No idea if it was little man syndrome, or what, but he had a terrible attitude; he was huffing and blowing and tsk-ing about everything, even though there was nothing wrong happening. Not sure who he was mad at, but taking it out on the customers and making them feel uncomfortable because he wants to huff and pout about things isn't ok. Not to mention his fingernails were too long and they were dirty. Food service workers should not have dirty fingernails. It had been a while since we have come to this particular theatre...I'm starting to remember why.

What a beautiful and unique theater! I learned this weekend that it is the only one of it's kind in…read morethe country. How cool! The design is just gorgeous and the volunteer staff are amazing. Full bar and concessions upstairs, the seats are relatively comfortable for such an old theater, sound and picture perfect. The only drawback on busy nights is the ladies room - with 4 stalls, it creates quite a line. We went to see all of the shorts nominated for Oscars, and what a great way to view them! 100% worth the ticket price; I'm already planning to attend every year, as well as go see more films there. A true gem in the city.

The building was open so we could line up early. The theater team were very nice about that. I like the Emagine movie theater chain and appreciate that they went to all recliner seating. Some also have heat, which is needed because they keep their theaters very cool. We viewed the film in their big EMAX theater - it's a great viewing and listening experience. My only beef with Emagine is that their concession teams don't always fill your popcorn bucket. Not to get all Falling Down on folks (keeping to the theater theme) but it would be nice to be served what is advertised. ‍ Alas, I'll be back. I like the location and especially the movie going experience at Emagine.

The concession area was a bit messy. It was pretty clean the first trip but when I went back for a refill it was a mess. We got two small popcorns and two medium drinks $28. I haven't been to the movies in 6 years. I was shocked. But I should have known better. The bathroom was a disaster looked like it wasn't cleaned for a few days. The seats were comfortable at least and enjoyed the movie. The workers were friendly.
