In June of 2024, he suggested I have cataract surgery for both of my eyes. His assistant explained the three different cataract procedures, and she answered all my questions. She helped me to decide which lenses to get. She was super nice and personable. Actually, the whole staff knew how to treat a patient. I never felt rushed. I felt like I was the only patient that day. Dr Ruttig, in my opinion, is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. I had each eye done on different days so the first eye could heal. After the second surgery, I wasn't happy with how my eye was healing. I explained how I was seeing. I waited 2 weeks to see if everything was going ok, but when I went for my appointment, he told me he and his assistant thought maybe a different lens would work better, so they scheduled another surgery. I also had issues with my bill from the hospital. I totally misunderstood the cost of the lenses and surgery. Hoda listened to my issues and said she would do some research. Hoda got back to me quickly and Dr. Ruttig refunded me a little under $3,000 to cover the costs of the hospital. I was so shocked. The office is amazing and so is Dr. Ruttig. Everyone is so professional, helpful and nice. I would highly recommend Eye M.D. of Niceville to anyone.

It's wonderful place. I love the ladies at the desk as well. They are always so helpful and nice With the COVID19, they made everything more comfortable. The only complaint I had today is about the red headed young girl who was doing the glasses . I was going to sit my 2 year old in the chair to put his shoes on and her tone was a little off about us needing to sit to the side. But she may not have had a good day or something. I hope our next meeting goes better and if she was having a bad day, it got better.

They took their time and made sure you were happy with your choices. But beyond that, my spouse had a serious eye condition. He has been to several optometrists over the years and told he had holes in his retinas but was never told it was important to have it checked beyond an eye exam. Family Eye Center did not just pass him off. They schedule him to see a specialist where he found out one of the holes was leaking. If he had waited much longer he could have lost vision in that eye. This is specific to Dr Tokarev who works at this eye center. This is my opinion based on my…read moreinteraction with Dr Tokarev and his scheduler Dotty. Originally I was pleased with my consultation with Dr Tokarev and left a positive review. Everything changed once the consult was done and I needed to now schedule my surgery appointment. Getting a hold of the the scheduler (Dotty) is near impossible. After a couple of weeks of trying and leaving messages, I finally had to ask someone at the front desk to find Dotty and make sure she called me back. We finally connected and made the appointment (about a month out). 5 days before the scheduled appointment, they text me to let me know that Dr Tokarevs schedule "has changed" and that my original appointment on Monday has been cancelled. No explanation other than his schedule has changed. I think it is close to the worst customer service I have ever experienced in the medical field. If you use Eye Center of North Florida, I would NOT RECOMMEND using Dr Tokarev. I would ask for any of the other doctors and hope it works out. This truthful review is based off of my experience with this business.
