They have pretty much everything here. Things you won't expect them to have, they have it. Almost weird.

We had dinner in the area and needed a few things for our hotel…read more Our friends lived in the area and needed to pickup groceries for their place. We tagged along. I know all Walmarts have a standard staple items for their stores and groceries stores. However, all states and cities always stock some kind of local things specific to the area. Like the local coffee beans or honey as an example. For that, I am the crazy person who looks for that! This store sells everything. You can find the meat department, dairy, vegetables/fruits, bakery, drinks, pastas/rice, frozen, candy, miscellaneous household items and much more!!! The aisles seemed spacious. Overall, a great experience! The store was clean and stocked. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ample parking. My better half bought some things for family. We found some specialty coffee beans and spices. I only purchased drinks for our room.

I receive the foregoing w/ a Walmart+ membership via a credit card. I was intrigued by Aloha bars: A Hawaiian co offering plant based, sugar free, high protein bars. However, Amazon was selling them in 12 packs for $3/bar. I didn't see any stores selling individual bars. But I did see that Walmart was selling them for $2/bar in 5 packs. In addition, I could receive the bars the same day w/ free delivery. I ended up liking the bars and will buy more. Nonetheless, I will buy them from Walmart bc the price is cheaper vs Amazon, and Walmart offers the bars in smaller packs.

I discovered this place while helping a friend look for a Tesla Supercharger. Right off the 405 on…read moreWarner Ave there is a Vietnamese market called Mekong Supermarket inside the plaza. The store itself is smaller if you compare it with places like Shun Fat Westminster Superstore or Hòa Bình supermarket. There is only one checkout counter and the staff all seem to be Vietnamese. After walking around, they pretty much have all the basics covered. The focus is Vietnamese and Southeast Asian ingredients and sauces. They have their own seafood and meat counter with number tags where you can ask them to clean or cut fish, plus a small deli to go section. I also noticed their delivery vehicle outside that says wholesale, so it seems like they also supply restaurants in the area. Overall it feels like a neighborhood market that also does some wholesale business. The fresh section looked clean and there was no strong smell. I happened to see ground pork on sale for $2.49 per pound. The regular price was $2.79. Of course I had just paid $3.99 per pound earlier that day at 99 Ranch in Irvine because I wanted convenience. While we were there, a Vietnamese lady next to us was buying a big pile of meat and seafood and chatting with us while waiting for it to be cut. She said she always shops here. She ended up buying the last of the ground pork in the display. We asked if there was any left and the butcher said he had more in the back, so we immediately decided to grab two pounds. I think this place is perfect if you do not want to push a cart around a huge store and just need to pick up a few items quickly. They are open until 8pm. Next time I have more time I will come back and explore a bit more to see what other interesting things they carry. Inside, it has a decent selection of items. I didn't notice that usual strong fishy smell you sometimes get in Vietnamese markets from seafood or raw meat, so it felt fairly clean and well maintained. Seafood and meats looked fresh, but prices are higher compared to other Asian markets. The produce section looked fresh as well, just on the expensive side. There is a small prepared food section in the front for quick takeout. Even with the higher prices, it's still a convenient place to shop. Not too big, easy to get in and out, and you can find most basic things you need.
