I dont like bad reviews and I rarely give them. But unless you know your stuff when it comes to cars, Do not go here. As a single female who doesn't know anything, I feel they took advantage of that. Two people within Murray's told me different stories. One said I need this, this and that and the other said no you dont. I did have them do some ac work. They forgot to put the hood cover back on for the engine so I had to go back. When I called, they said, Oh, that happens all the time. We have been customers of Murray's for 3 years, but we just picked up our vehicle and we won't be back. Someone smoked a cigarette in our car while test driving it after repairs were made. Also, they messed up the steering wheel. It's all rough like someone took sandpaper to it. When we called to complain they made up some lie that the tech that worked on our car doesn't smoke, but that another tech got something out of our car that smokes and that's why it smells that way. They must think we are idiots. No way that my car smells as strong as it does with stale cigarette smoke from just opening a door, grabbing something, and shutting the door. They offered us no solution for the problem so I am beyond mad about this. They have lost a customer and I cannot recommend them. ​ read more

I needed brake pads replaced on Thanksgiving eve. Angie's List search was not working that day. A Google search for 'brake service' showed Murray's on Yelp with positive review so I thought I'd give them a try. When I brought the car in, Graham took it out for a test drive (a rarity these days). He confirmed the brake pad diagnosis and also pointed out that the rotors were warped and couldn't be turned and presented me with some options without pushing any particular one. I chose to just change the pads. After the pads were replaced, he once again took the car for a test drive to make sure it performed as expected. Again a rarity these days. Most places just replace the parts without ever doing a test drive. He also pointed out that my AC compressor needed to be replaced because of the whining noise it was producing. I appreciated the thoroughness of the service. Four stars since it is my first time using Murray's. I will definitely be back. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CARS HERE ! This is the worst service I've ever had in my life. I got my car towed there over a month ago and they have not started working on my car yet. It's an 2013 Audi A7 Btw. They told me I had to put 2900 down for them to start and I gave them the money the next week. After they got the money that's when all the excuses started to come in. First he cut his finger so that was a week of no repairs Second he had a funeral to go to and I was very sympathetic towards that. So that's another week of no repairs. Then the lift that my car needs to get on was broken. Is was supposed to get fixed that same day. Guess what it didn't. I tried to call them at least 3 times a day EVERYDAY. They didn't answer for me at all. Then I tried calling from a friends phone and they answered on the first ring. I went up there today to see if they started my car is still sitting in the same spot it has been the first day. I asked them why they don't answer the phones. She said everything is broken. The internet, fax machines, both phones everything. So I told her that she could have called me she said again everything is broken. So I told her I just want my money back at this point . She said they can't do that because they already ordered the parts. Which they have not placed on my car yet. They have not did a single thing to my car since I brought it there and they are trying to keep 45% of what I gave them plus some. They said they are getting a mechanic that works on foreign cars to come tomorrow to start it but my thing is if you guys couldn't fix it what take my money ? They are very unprofessional and they are scammers. They knew they wasn't able to fix my car but still gave me excuse after excuse. Now I'm going to lose money because I start vacation tomorrow and my hotel and activities have already been paid for and it's nonrefundable and I've been telling them also that I have a trip to go on. This is not the way you treat people especially people thats in the service. I have been very patient but now they are playing with my money. I'm going to get my lawyer involved at this point ! Finally a mechanic that can be trusted. I have used this place several times and have never been disappointed. My mother took her car to the Honda dealership in Huntersville to get an oil change and they tried telling her that she needed over $1700 worth of work. When I took it to Graham he showed me that it did not even close to half of the things they said were required. It is evident that they were taking advantage of my mother because she knew little about cars and is in her 60's. Murray's Autoworks have been my go to mechanic and has done a tremendous job. I have been so pleased that I recently took our Buick Enclave to get fixed even though I purchased an extended warranty from Randy Marion in Mooresville who turned out to be a bunch of crooks. It is evident that this business is run by an honest person and that is very hard to find these days. Graham, the owner, is as honest as they come. Murray's was recommended to me by a coworker. I'd been there for nothing more than oil changes for the past year. This morning, I dropped off my fiance's car to have the timing belt changed. Not too long after getting to work, I got a call from Graham asking if I was sure that the belt had not already been changed because the water pump did not look as if it was original to the vehicle. I called my previous mechanic and confirmed that it had been done about a year and a half ago. Basically, he took money out of his own pocket and put it back in ours.
