Booked with this business two weeks and 2 days out over text while my lawn was getting scorched, but went with them anyways because my neighbor had recommended them. They gave me a date when I was away on vacation so I had asked my next door neighbor to facilitate. Apparently, they don't know how to use a phone as I was never able to talk with anyone directly, so all of our conversations took place over text. My neighbor contacted them last night and they gave him a 2 hour window when they would be there today. I get a text from my neighbor and the business after getting through TSA and am waiting to board my plane. My neighbor said no one had shown up or called or texted him. I tried calling two of their numbers and no one picked up the phone so I left a voicemail. Soon after that I get a text from the business that my neighbor wasn't there during the window. I go back and forth over text with the business asking them why they got there, and didn't text or call my neighbor, the contact who had set up the meeting window the night prior. The person on the other end of the text with me was obviously a miserable human being and was very unprofessional, throwing out sarcastic LOLs and other sarcastic texts, which after a while, I responded back to in the same fashion. This person obviously hasn't been in the service industry long, or has been in it for so long that they need a refresher course in hospitality and should maybe pick a new career. Even par with the DMV, but usually the DMV is nicer. I kept asking why they didn't call the number of the contact (my neighbor) who had made sure to set everything up with them last night. This person kept saying I can't help you if your neighbor doesn't know what a service window is. Then I kept asking why they didn't call him when they arrived. They kept saying no one was there between 10am-12pm and I kept telling this person they should have called, and not knocked on the door of an empty house. Not sure if they wanted my neighbor to lay down on the lawn for 2 hours and wait for them, but it seemed like that is exactly what they wanted him to do instead of picking up their phone and calling him. The person texting for this business said I was "the only problem person in 13 years" which I find very hard to believe with only 5 yelp reviews total (probably friends). That's less than half a yelp review per year. This person told me to go with Quality Sprinklers in the mix after me asking for them to come back while still in their window early on in the conversation while this person was still being slightly professional. After trying to end the conversation several times, this person kept coming back with new ways to say the same exact thing but with elevating levels of sarcasm, so I engaged back. Then they roped Quality Sprinklers into the conversation, whom I have no opinion about, but was reluctant to use a reference from this absolutely horrible company. If you're looking for a sprinkler company with a terrible attitude and knows nothing about customer service recovery and will just push all their failed attempts at business over to Quality Sprinklers, go with Steve's Sprinkler Service, or you could just bypass them and go straight to Quality Sprinklers without your lawn burning up after a two week waiting period and the headache of a company that doesn't know how to operate a phone and is rude AF. read more
