the person who's always cut my son's hair didn't have any openings, so we made an appointment with a girl named PAGE, and she gave him a TERRIBLE haircut!!! there's no way to style it without it looking messy, it was a really bad cut. This has never happened to us there before.Please don't go to this girl if you want to look good. read more

First time here, hadnt had a cut in ages. Amber was awesome! She did my cut how I wanted and made sure I was ok with the cut along the way. Not many people are as attentive and just do whatever. Too much information, and yes you could in theory walk in, but they are fully booked according to online. Time to move on to a place that doesn't require all my info. Grew tired of Great Clips, continually increasing prices, and the quality of haircuts going down and down. Decided to try out stews on a whim based off of yelp. Their booking isn't great, but gets the job don Brooke was great, super personable, easy-going, and had me in and out in less than 20 minutes. my only bummer was their payment system (square) doesn't allow me to tip on credit card, I wish I could've, she was great and delivered exactly what I asked for. I will be coming back and making sure I have extra cash to give her next time. read more

Pre covid it was around $20 to get a cut. Now it's like $33 before tip. Haircut took less than 10 minutes. That means that the stylist are getting around $100 per hour. Getting a haircut in Ladera Ranch is about as enjoyable as mattress or car shopping. Feel like get bent over more and more every time I go here.... read more

I have been going to Stews for at least 5 years. I really like the staff and they provide good haircuts. They no longer take walk ins and have been appointment only for a while. However, recently they have instituted a very difficult online appointment system where you MUST give all kinds of personal information, including a credit card. This is being done to avoid no-shows, but there are far easier ways to solve this problem without opening up customers to credit card theft and identity theft. Punishing good customers for a few no shows is a poor way to run a business. If they don't change this policy, I will have to find another place to get my hair cut, which is a shame, because I like Stews and I have never failed to show up for an appointment. read more

Always remember that we are all human and if you take the time to complain knowing that hair always grows back and if you can say you have NEVER gotten a bad hair cut your only lying to yourself and to yelp. This was my first visit to this barber shop. I didn't feel welcome and to be honest I will not be coming back. The whole experience made me feel awkward and the hairdresser didn't do what I was expecting. She just cut the hair shorter even that I explained I hated the last haircut. read more

I took my 2.5yr old son to Stew's today for the first time. It was not his first haircut, but man was he the most difficult, screaming, little child while getting his hair cut. The staff there was SUPER patient with my son and some how managed to work through the cries of murder he had giving him a phenomenal cut. I'm super thankful for their willingness to be patient, and work through it all to give a great cut. I honestly don't know how she managed to get such a great cut with a child flailing around, screaming like he was. Showed up at 4:30 to an empty Stew's to get our 3 boys haircuts. Was told our appointment was at 4:20 and as 8 mins had already passed we could not be provided service due to a later appointments scheduled. I understand the principle, but there really is only 2 mins difference (4:28 vs 4:30). Their "by appointment only" policy has really ruined it for me here, which is too Brad as we have good memories of stews from pre-Covid. Not anymore. read more

Sorry guys, not coming back here again, May be it's just "our luck" today, but you totally ruined the look we asked for. Totally not what was asked. Not only that which you said it was a miscommunication, but the back looks like someone just chopped it unevenly with holes showing the skin through. See the photo. It's not a haircut you'd expect from a cool men's barber shop. Very disappointing. My son was trying to be polite and not make a fuss about it but he has to stay with this now for several weeks. Both times I have went the cuts were not very good, wouldn't recommend a fade there. No walk ins anymore also makes it a big downgrade.

Took my 14 month old in for his first haircut. He is a pretty chill baby, but he cried the whole time. Brooke did his hair and she was a total rockstar! Such a professional, she said his cries were so chill compared to some that she has seen she was completely unphased, which made me feel so much better. My boy's hair looks amazing and we were in and out in 15 minutes. Best experience ever!! Will be coming back for all his future appointments:) read more

We've come here for years and today we went in to get my daughters hair trimmed and they refused to do it as they cut "boys" hair only.

Always a great looking haircut for my boys! Even though scheduling is a bit difficult as you have to call the morning of as they only offer same day appointments, if you call right when they open, there are many open slots. After 30+ years with the same barber in Mission Viejo, I decided it was necessary to make a switch. Based on the reviews I read in Yelp and elsewhere, I gave Stew's in Ladera Ranch a tryout and I am very glad that I did. Mark cut my hair exactly how I like it. Call first thing in the morning (8:30/8:45) and get you appointment, you will NOT regret it! We take both our boys there and they love it! We used to take them to the little kids style haircuts but it was always a pain and would take forever. This place they are in and out so quick and their haircuts look awesome. Heard about this place for some time and finally went this past Friday. Phenomenal experience. My son never knows what to do with his hair (15 year old). Don't know the name of the lady who cut his hair but it's perfect and he loves it. Got a fade and a little off the top. Appointment was at 2 pm, got there a tad before, they were ready for him and we were out the door with a great cut in less than 15 minutes. SOLD! We'll be back for sure. read more

I never had an opportunity to get my haircut. I went in to schedule an appointment. The person I spoke with was rude and seemed put off that I didn't call to schedule the appointment. When I asked if I could schedule a future appointment, I was told they only take same day appointments and I needed to call in the morning because the hookup quickly. My wife and I are teachers and stepping away from my class so that I can schedule a haircut for me and my son is not a realistic possibility. I would love to support a local business, but this will not be one them. read more
