This has basil, carrots, eggs which I left off, onions, peppers, and choice of a protein, and I got it with tofu. She got the Pad Woon Sen. This is glass noodles and vegetables with choice of protein, and tofu was the choice too. Basic tasting to be honest. There was also the level of spiciness and it was hot but still wasn't a lot popping as far as the flavor it seems. For certain it's not fancy. It's got another location on campus while this one is on Cunningham without much going on around it. They're closed Tuesdays.

This isn't your typical Thai restaurant. They have a few Lao dishes as well (I'd love more). I've eaten there several times, and it has NEVER been disappointing. I've had the Bangkok fried rice with beef, which was amazing, and the cucumbers came from their garden! So did some of the other stuff, too. I've had most of the appetizers. I've had the basil chicken (OMG! DELISH), the pad thai, and all of the different curry dishes (curry is always my favorite). The Lao curry uses noodles instead of rice and is probably my favorite. It has shredded chicken, fresh veggies, and lots of coconut broth. I could eat that every single day.I loved the pumpkin curry, too. I had it today! I've also had the mango sticky rice and it's really good. I haven't had any issues with any of the meat being overcooked. The staff is wonderful. They're very friendly and they always make sure you're happy. My friend ordered the wrong dish today, and when they brought it out and saw how confused she was, they took it back, and they made her what she had meant to order. That's service, and this is my new favorite restaurant in C/U. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Sticky Rice, a Laotian Thai restaurant located in downtown Champaign for quite some time now, but this is my first review. I have to say, it's always a great dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. But most importantly, the food is delicious! My favorite dish is the pho - it is hands down the best in the area. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. I'm also a fan of the papaya salad and the Khao Poon (Lao Curry soup), both of which are outstanding. Mickie, the owner, is always kind enough to come by the table and check in on me or my family when dine which is always a nice touch. I've been a long time customer and have never been disappointed. Overall, I highly recommend Sticky Rice for anyone looking for authentic, delicious Laotian Thai cuisine. Five stars! read more

I had the pumpkin curry, and it was really great! It's a noodle based curry, with coconut broth instead of coconut milk, which made it a little lighter tasting. It was one of my favorites there. I also had the pork egg rolls, which aren't in the traditional egg roll wrappers. It was more of a fried spring roll. Still great! I've had several dishes there, and have never been disappointed. The mango sticky rice is great. They make their own coconut ice cream, and if you're lucky enough to catch it on the day she makes it, it's OUT OF THIS WORLD! You need to try this place. They also use fresh herbs and veggies from their garden, and you can absolutely tell the difference! read more

This last year, Sticky Rice has become a favorite of mine. They have plenty of vegetarian options and their flavors are great. Staff is friendly every time I call or go in. I don't dine in often but it's a nice, casual lunch spot. Hugely recommend the pad see ew and cucumber salad. read more
