The stylist mainly sprayed a lot of hairspray, brushed it back, and said I was done. When I asked for curls in the pony, I was told it was extra, which was frustrating since I had called beforehand to confirm the service. A few curls were added, but only part of the pony was curled and it wasn't set or sprayed. Overall, it did not look polished or photo-ready, and I left feeling really disappointed, especially since this was for such an important moment. I wish expectations and services had been communicated more clearly.

I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

She made a few changes based on my feedback and it came out so pretty! Then she did my makeup and for such a young woman, she is incredibly talented. My sister came with me and had her makeup done by Vanessa, she also did a fantastic job. The scheduling was easy, cost was extremely reasonable and the work was top notch. I made the appointment a month ahead of time over the phone and we checked in with ease. The staff quickly greeted us and we waited for our turn. He's looking for people who will pay whatever he decides and not say anything but "thank you, Hair God." We had a few last-minute tweaks, like switching a partial updo to a full updo and changing a shampoo and blowout to a dry style, and they were very accommodating. Group bookings can be tricky, so we really appreciate that flexibility. In the past, they paired you with one stylist for hair and a separate makeup artist, but this time it seemed like the same person handled both services. It was our first experience with this setup. While everyone was happy with how their hair and makeup turned out, there were some conversations about preferring specialists for each service, as many stylists tend to have a stronger focus on either hair or makeup. That said, everything still turned out beautifully, and the receptionists were friendly and welcoming as always. Overall, another positive experience for our group!
