I had an hour slot booked where I wanted to do a couple smaller memorial tattoos in memory of my mother who passed from ovarian cancer. The nice thing is, I had changed my mind a bit since showing the initial proof to Zion Tattoo when I initially booked. Travis was totally fine with it and adjusted to my wants. I also appreciated how he added his input on my ideas to ensure they looked good upon completion. I was there for about 45 minutes, everything was fast and inclusive. It was an amazing experience in a clean and comfortable environment and I appreciated how Travis kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing alright and was just very personable. The receptionist was helpful and made sure we knew what paperwork we needed to bring. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. I decided to get a last minute nose piercing as well, which Mandi was happy to accommodate. The piercing room is small so Mandi requested that my husband and toddler hang out in the shop while we get the piercings done. We walked into the piercing room and my daughter was immediately in awe of all the unicorn posters and art all over the room. My daughter just happened to be wearing a unicorn dress. Mandi also had Disney music playing in the background. I'm not sure if that's her standard day-to-day selection, but I assumed she put it on for my daughter, which I thought was a really nice touch. Mandi is warm and professional. My nose piercing went off without a hitch. When it came time to pierce my daughter's ears, Mandi and her assistant were patient and encouraging. My daughter was excited but also scared. Mandi took her time to make sure that the holes in each ear were perfectly aligned before doing the actual piercing. My daughter cried when the first ear got pierced, but Mandi was super positive and let my daughter know what a great job she did. After a few tears and a hug, my daughter was ready for the other ear, which she cried again when the needle went in, but she did a great job staying still. She let us in, and was not wearing a mask...not cool. Then, when my niece shared with her where she wanted her tattoo placed, Jessie had a complete personality change. She instantly got an attitude and tried really hard to talk my niece out of what she wanted. What she didn't understand was that this piece was symbolic for a mental health struggle and was something that was very important to my niece. Jessie made this statement, "no, that's going to look retarded." She said, " I'm not going to tattoo a stupid tattoo on you, and that'll be stupid." At that point my niece was in the verge of tears and I ended it and said we are declining any tattoo from you and will go elsewhere. I've been tattooed by many fine artists in the twin cities and have never been treated like that or had an artist insult the ideas or you personally. I would take your good money elsewhere. It appears that when she doesn't care for your tattoo, she treats you poorly.

She made sure to explain the piercing process and in no time I had my nose pierced! It's been about 6 weeks and my nose appears to be healing great I will come back to Electric Strawberry when I'm ready to swap it out for a new piece. The facility was clean and observed several rules to help with ensuring safety in light of COVID-19. I scheduled an appointment with Hannah via email and was able to get pierced the next day or so. She and the receptionist were very good at explaining the process to me, the jewelry, and answering any questions I had.
