The piercer at impulse tattoo is extremely rude and gets annoyed when you ask general questions. They also didn't allow me to have a friend with me, even though someone getting tattooed had someone sitting with them. I get it, covid, but then kindly let customers know ahead of time and be consistent! She also made me wait almost a half hour past my appointment time (while my friends just waited outside). Just seemed like she didn't want to be there, such bad vibes during a time that's supposed to be exciting! I ultimately decided I did not want to give this place my business and went elsewhere. I came here with a group of friends who all wanted something different, they were able to get us in back to back which was really nice, and a few people were getting tattoos, a few were getting piercings. Of my 3 friends who got tattoos, only one of them healed nicely and turned out how she wanted it. The other two have scarring over their tattoos now and the color is bleeding out already (keep in mind they're only 2 weeks old). Of the three of us who got piercings, 1 of them is healing properly (a nose) and the other two have had issues. I got my Tragus pierced and after a few days it was still extremely sore and developed a bump on both sides of the ring. I went in to a different shop and the piercer there told me that the placement and angle were done wrong and that it would never heal properly. The jewelry was also bad quality (and he only had hoops, no studs. Other piercers I know will refuse to start with hoops because they are harder to heal) My body was already rejecting the piercing after only a couple weeks. I ended up having to take it out and I'm going to have to get it re-pierced at a different shop now and spend more money. The other girl who got an ear piercing said the ball fell off the jewelry, so now she needs to go spend more money to have somebody switch out her jewelry to a better quality as well. Almost everyone who got a tattoo or piercing from here now has to go get them fixed or completely redone which is extremely frustrating since we wasted money and now have to go through the pain a second time to get it right. I wouldn't go back to this shop and neither would my friends, but again they were friendly and hygienic so maybe it was just our specific piercer/artist.

Yesterday I woke up and had an…read moreissue with my newest ear piercing (apparently I have a problem ear and this time it's my right ear). Basically, over the night my gem stone ended up in my ear between the holes. Go figure. I contact Anchor's End Tattoo in Hudson. Told them about the issue. They let me know the piercer in Hudson was not in and to look into the River Falls or Stillwater shop. I opted for River Falls. I made the appointment and explained the weird issue. I went in at my appointed time and the piercer was all ready for me. Sorry, really bad with names. I told her what happened. Thankful she had experience with this kind of thing. I also told her if she couldn't fix it, I would head over to "urgent care". She was a complete delight. So nice and kind. She looked at it and was able to get the gem out of there and replaced my earrings with a larger crystal and a longer stem to account for the swelling I was experiencing. Honestly, I cannot say enough nice things about her. This was my 2nd experience there and honestly both were just as wonderful. I really appreciated her getting me in to get this resolved. Nicest in all possible ways. It was pristine. All the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The jewelry is titanium grade so I don't have to take any of my new piercings out for my upcoming MRI. Special shout out to Brian Loring for a fantastic job on my piercings. He was fast, efficient and there was just the hint of a sting. Can't recommend SSP highly enough if you're looking for a piece or a pierce. The apprentice is supervised by a senior piercer, in my case the shop owner, and it was a great experience. We went slow and had an easy paced consultation making sure the placement was just right and would also meet the kind of jewelry I wanted. They were happy to change and mark placement multiple times until I was satisfied and the owner was happy. All in, I paid $90 for both piercings including jewelry plus a tip. They are also make sure to go over aftercare prior to and after getting pierced to make sure you are aware of how involved the healing and care process will be.
