Plus, their knowledgeable & friendly team members are ready & eager to help whenever guidance is needed. Excellent service always at this store! you don't have to get to run down a person to help you they are usually at the door waiting for you to propose the challenge of the day! if the item itself is a bit more the customer service more than makes up for it If they don't have it they can get it i. a timely manner... i find the feed store portion at this site to me very competitively priced. read more

I went by to pick up an online ordered grill after calling them the day prior. It was a Weber grill. Guy I spoke to (has a mustache, forgot his name) said he sees it next to him and would like us to come by (liar). I drove an hour and 15 mins to get there. I get there and realize it's a rather dumpy / small ace with limited selection. Wait for the guy who takes me outside the store to a display grill unit and he says, there it is. He then went about lying to me repeatedly and using a number of used car salesman tactics. 1) I tell him so it's the display unit and he says no we don't have any display units of anything, we just assembled it for you - lie #1. It's in a line of grills covered in dust 2) Notice a massive crack on the hood and he immediately says, oh it's my high school workers they must have done it - lie #2 , I then look around and notice one of the knobs is bent 30 degrees to the side. He changes track and says this must have definitely fallen off the truck - lie #3 3) I ask him if the light assembly that comes with it is there. He looks inside and says yes it is - lie #4. After I look inside he changes track and says only half of the assembly is there 4) He does not look surprised at all doesn't look at the damage at all and says I can do $900 for you - that is my cost - lie #5 5) then he says to do any better I need my manager who is not here and I don't know how to use the system - lie #6 6) he then goes on to ask if I can come back tomorrow so his manager can do better - After I told him I drove over an hour This place is a scam with lousy thieving workers. I am very impressed. After calling around looking for galvanized pipe cut and threaded it dawned on me to call Stinemans as I used to work there 37 years ago and we handled galvanized then. Sure enough they still cut it to order. Score!. Josh was helpful and courteous. It's grown since I worked there and it still evoked pleasant memories of John and Marilyn Stineman. I have been going to Stineman's for years! When I lived in Wheatland I would cruise by for some household supplies as needed. Paint was the main purchase. Soil and garden supplies too! Now I make this place a destination for my Tru Pickle needs! They are one of the only places that sells Tru pickles! The best pickles around. I love that the staff is the friendliest in town. They really make you feel like you're part of the small town. read more

As someone said they hover around you but i don't think its because they think you are going to steal i think its more because there are so many workers employed...you would think a shop like that could get by with maybe three people but everytime i go they are just hopping up to help me which is good but yes, a little annoying when you know the store and you want to browse a bit...but super helpful cuz so many employees ready to work...and most of the guys who have been there a long time know where everything is...i have literally described plumbing parts i need with like my fingers and they knew what i was talking about so i totally rely on them and i think it is great that they are there when you need! If you just tell them no i know what i want or i need to look at some stuff they leave you alone but kind of stand close if you have questions...i like that... read more

We shop here weekly and this last visit, day before Memorial Day, everyone was standing around cuz it wasn't busy. Understandable. We were doing yard work. Fixing sprinklers and needed pvc connectors. So we rushed in and they asked us what we needed. 'We got it covered'. We knew what we wanted. But they sent one of the young people to hover over us as if we were going to steal something. And when he did help to get what I wanted he couldn't find it. I did. I have bought so much there I knew where it all was. So, It made us feel uncomfortable and frustrated. We almost said something cuz we are both in customer service. You can't assume that all are thieves. Then going through the register I showed the cashier my Ace rewards that is on my phone. As loud as possible 'what's that?' In large 2" letters it says Ace. It pissed me off but to keep stuff 'nice' I just said 'rewards'. This visit was not a good experience. read more

Came in yesterday as a first time customer to purchase some chainsaw sharpening files and I won't be returning. As soon as I walked in I asked the lady at the counter where their chainsaw isle was and was immediately followed by an older male employee with a white beard. He stood right behind me/ awkwardly not saying a word not even a hello or anything which made me feel uncomfortable. I believe he was more concerned about me stealing items then helping me locating the right files. I usually love to look around small town farm supply stores but I figured I couldn't be "trusted". When it comes to purchasing my Stihl products I'll definitely be giving Stineman's a pass. read more

We have lived in the area for 13 years and always forget there is an ace hardware close by. Long story short, I broke an 18 mm socket on my wife's brake caliper bolt so I gave stinemans a shot to see if they carried metric impact sockets or open end wrenches. We have bought feed here in the past and got great service. Last Sunday out well quit working and as I worked through trouble shooting it I felt we needed to replace the control panel. We found one in stock. After replace the control box and the pressure switch we determined the pump was getting power but not running. We pulled the pump up and took it and they tested the pump and let us know it was in working order. They then took the time set me up with everything to fix a broken and rewire and connect the pump. They went above and beyond with their effort to assist me. read more

Someone mentioned about this place if we are looking for Stihl products so we were on our way to Rocklin and my son who is working on a Stihl chainsaw he needed a file so we drove off the beaten path to see what the have. We go i side we were greeted by a lady working the counter my son asked her where can he find the chainsaws she told us as we started walking back I noticed an older man bald head with what looked like a beard or an long mustache that was a few isles from where the lady at the counter was he proceeded to follow us and when we got to the chainsaws he stood right behind me like we were going to steal something so my son asked him a question which he could not answer so he acted like he left us but I seen him watching us. My son got what he needed PAID for it and we left. We will not be going back there we will take our business elsewhere. Never have I felt so uncomfortable in a store but this one sure didn't make us feel welcome. We will take our business elsewhere read more

Been shopping here for years. Knowlegable staff and very helpful. They have a good variety of products, and usually have the hard to find items. May not have as much variety as the big stores but usually are pretty competive in price. If you need bulk quantities they will gladly order it for you and get it within a week or less. For plastic pipe, fittings and sprinklers for commercial or ag use they have the best prices and deals around. read more

This is a great place to go if you live out in the country or in town. Being a Farm Supply they have items that most Hardware Stores or even "Home Improvement" stores won't have. The Prices vary. Some things are high others are not. For Example we went there to get 5' kiddy pools that we use for our Alpaca to cool themselves in. Walmart wanted $14 & Stineman's wanted $11 The drawback to a place like this is they won't have the selection of a big box store. But they will almost always have what you need. The people are Helpful & Friendly and most importantly knowledgeable! read more

They have more than most Ace Hardware stores. The staff is SUPER friendly and give you that welcoming small town feel. My kids love to go to the toy shelves while we get what we need. They make popcorn and will give you a bag to snack on on weekends. If I remember correctly they also offer a military discount. Their prices can be slightly higher on some things but if you're nearby it beats having to drive to yuba city or lincoln. read more

If you want t experience A+ customer service this is your place . I have always had wonderful experiences there but today was exceptional. Realizing while it's raining and before a big storm that my windshield wiper blade was toast was stressful to say the least . I've never dealt with this and wasn't sure what to do . I was greeted at the door and walked right over to what I needed . After help selecting the blades I asked if they were easy to replace . Instead of getting a short walk through on how to do it another employee was called to go out into the rain and switch them out for me . He did so with a friendly smile and didn't act put out one bit ! We are so lucky to have this place in town !! read more
