Great local store to shop with great customer service and large selection of products!

UPDATE: Welp... three and a half years after the opening of Emigh Ace Hardware things are even more incredible. Seems like a strange word, incredible, for a hardware store? This Emigh has become an El Dorado Hill's favorite. Hands down. It is definitely the community store for everyone. The customer service EXCEEDS (yes in caps) any I have received anywhere. You walk in and you, the paying customer, are greeted and asked if you need help. I am still amazed by that. The many times I have come to Emighs for very specific needs 99 percent ends with just the right gadget, advice or information I needed. I would not stand a chance at the big box stores (hello... anyone working here:)) The value of having a store of this quality so close by is priceless. Yes, you may pay a little more here but time is money in my book. A car phone holder? Yes! They had it. And the employee who led me directly to the small cache of choices even installed it in my car!!! Big thank you shout out for that. Now you know why "incredible " is the perfect adjective for describing EDH Emigh. It is starting to look a lot like Christmas!!! Wow! Last night I walked in the front door to the largest display of Christmas inventory I have yet to see. I had to catch my breath. I immediately texted the GF and she replied back, oh yes, she had already been there a week ago and purchased some very cool holiday items. She is always in the know. You have to see it to believe it. There is definitely no need to go to Pottery World:). Thank you to whomever owns this store. It makes us all feel very lucky to have you. The takeaway... you do not have to live in El Dorado Hills to shop here. So come on down. P.S. Select Apple Hill pies in the refrigerated bin! I kid you not. read more

The Emigh Ace Hardware in El Dorado Hills is amazing. There is no better customer service in the hardware business and they will go out of their way to help you. The store will well organized, always clean, and they provide a good value considering all they provide. They may not have the large selection a warehouse store has but I will go there first every time! Kudos to everyone who works here. read more

My husband sent me to Ace Hardware to find the correct cartridge for our faucet, but the manufacturer had accidentally provided the wrong part number. I brought the old cartridge with me, hoping to get some guidance on finding the right replacement. Unfortunately, the associate I spoke with offered no real help and simply suggested that I might need entirely new faucets. I then went to Lowe's, where an employee immediately identified the correct part: the Danco 3G-3C cartridge. It fit perfectly. Ironically, Ace carries this same part online, which made the lack of assistance there even more disappointing. read more

I cannot say enough about this place and the customer service from top to bottom. This is obviously a tragic story but my 2 1/2 year old son fell down with his favorite wooden toy, Bluey's Mom (Chili for the uninitiated), whom my son calls "bluey-mom". It broke her in half and occurred while we were waiting for my daughter to finish school. I rushed into Emigh Ace Hardware and a kind gentleman (I wish I'd remembered his name) asked me if I needed help - to which I frantically pointed to the broken toy and explained the situation. With a pleasant laugh of understanding he guided me to the proper glue and also suggested some inexpensive clamps -- and wished me well. I was able to salvage the toy by the tie we picked up my daughter ... although tragically my son later (today) angrily threw Bluey Mom into the bath tub resulting in different parts shattering. So yeah, we bought an extra one just in case. But I am VERY grateful for the hands-on service and advice I received and at least I now have some clamps and glue for the next time it happens (which will probably be tomorrow during the next tantrum). read more

I left a phone message for the manager who's name is Chris. Or at least that's what I was told the managers name is. One of my adult children went in with their 21/2 year old child to shop during the holiday season. A rude female employee walked up and said this is not a good store to bring children to. My grandchild is very well behaved and considerate. My adult child was very offended left and told me they will never return. I thought this was unacceptable and unprofessional. Especially since they sell children's items and the Christmas ornaments are very easy to touch because of the way they display them. The assistant manager needs an attitude change also. Very cold and not customer service oriented. I feel like I'm bothering him. He is very grumpy. Not once have I ever seen this guy smile. I went in during the holidays to look at their ornaments and other decor. I purchased quite a bit and was shocked at the price at the check out once it was all rung up. Everything was supposed to be 50% off. I even said wow that really added up. It was really bothering me. I went home and went through all of my items. Sure enough many of the things that were Christmas Items had not been rung up at 50% off. I went back to the store and had to spend quite a bit of time while the nice young lady helped me figure it out. I was overcharged quite a bit. Apparently they marked the ornaments down in the register, but not the rest of the Christmas decor, even though it was advertised at 50% off. The employee apparently assumed it would automatically deduct the 50% off. They apologized and refunded on the overcharge. I also noticed that two of the ornaments that I had purchased never made it into the bag. I went back into the store once again. The nice young man admitted that he messed up. If you purchased Christmas items at 50% off during the holidays, you better check your receipts if you still have them. And the only reason I found out about what happened to my adult child is that I mentioned that the store has nice ornaments. That's when I was told about the horrible experience. Please do better. If you don't want children in the store, you should put a sign on the door. AND I never received a call from the manager. read more

Although I enjoy the excellent customer service at this store, the depth of selection is somewhat limited depending on your needs. In my opinion, they have a broader selection of home goods/accessories, gadgets and outdoor furniture, than actual hardware parts for maintaining and/or fixing broken equipment. Although most of the merchandise is of good quality, pricing is crazy expensive. With that in mind, I only go to the store for convenience because it is closer than Home Depot or Lowe's. read more

I am so happy that this store is here in EDH. Every time I've been there, including yesterday, a staff member helped me within minutes, knew what I told him I needed, took me to where it was, and Ace had the item. A complete night and day difference in what you get when you drive over the hill where If you can find an employee, they are frequently clueless and or don't have it. The plus is not wasting tax dollars to Sacramento County or Folsom. read more

It is so great that an Ace hardware shop opened up in El Dorado Hills (EDH). Better yet that it is an Emigh Ace hardware. Emigh is a long time Sacramento hardware family. They opened their fist shop in 1908 and they are still going strong. The EDH shop is in the El Dorado Hills Town Center. Plenty of parking. The shop is filled with the full complement of hardware merchandise including an outdoor living section. In that section they have patio furniture and BBQs. Lots of grills. Pellet, propane, or charcoal. Prices were the same as the big box shops. We bought a Weber BBQ from them. They offered free setup and delivery within a certain radius. The price was the same as the big box shops. The communication with the delivery was great. It was delivered built, they will place it wherever you request (within reason, I live in a suburban tract house and not on acreage). It was a triple digit scorcher Saturday. The delivery staff were so nice and had such awesome attitudes. They provided a thorough demo. Unfortunately during the demo, the lid fell off the grill table and got scuffed up. We asked if we could get a new one. They said they will have a manager give us a call. Hubs decided to just drive down the road to the shop with the intent of swapping out the floor display lid. The manager on duty was terrific. We explained what happened and without hesitation she went to the floor display and looked it over to make sure it was in good condition for the swap. Terrific attitude, customer service. Problem solved. Do not forget the pie. Pie at a hardware shop?!? Yes, frozen pies from the Pie Company in Ripon, CA. They have peach, blueberry, peach cobbler, boysenberry, blackberry, and apple. $17.99 for a whole pie. We have been back since to buy furniture screws, propane, houseplants, potting soil, and grill accessories. The prices for most of the items were cheaper than the big box. Very nice Ace Hardware store in El Dorado. The service staff are very helpful and nice. They're bbq and patio section is amazing with a great variety of quality options including umbrellas and cushions. The prices seem inline with the better quality of merchandise. My husband and I were very impressed with their knowledge of their products. They also will deliver and set up for an additional fee. read more

This past Sunday, I needed to sharpen my kitchen knives, pick up some bark and figure out how to fix up the exterior of my home. When I walked in, I noticed three or four staff talking to each other, but as soon as I got to the counter, they offered to assist. One person helped me with sharpening the knives, another person offered to show me the bark that were available outside and even brought over a larger shopping cart for me to put it in and he also asked if I need any help putting them in the car. The third guy, I told him what I was trying to fix and he offered some specific solution to try. You might be wondering, do people still offer this type of customer service in 2024? I've been to this store probably four or five times and they are consistent with the quality of service and the quality of their product. I was offered to have my purchases be put in the car for me at least two times or three. I am so glad that this is available here in the Folsom and El Dorado resident area. Nice beautiful new store in town center. Location is at the other end of the Nugget shopping center facing Starbucks. We were there for a Stihl chain, we found one but unfortunately got it home and it was a used piece in the wrong box. Disappointed all the way around. Unfortunately they had not brought in their inventory from outside. Will definitely return, enjoyed the fact that it wasn't ultra busy, I felt like I could find someone to answer my questions! read more

In the past I've used Amazon or Home Depot for grill purchases, really glad I finally went to our local Ace Hardware to get a new gas grill. The service from start (sales associate Samantha) to finish was exceptional, and included grill construction and haul away of the old grill. Everyone from Emigh Ace that we dealt with were both personable and professional. Their selection of on site grills was extensive, delivery and haul away took less than a week. read more

Exceptional service truly deserves recognition. On Friday, I visited Emigh Ace Hardware in the EDH Town Center to find a nut for my tripod. After unsuccessful trips to Lowe's and Home Depot, where I was told my nut was an unusual size, I was advised that Ace Hardware had the largest selection. Upon entering, I met Jeff, who meticulously searched for the correct size and confirmed it was likely custom-made. Despite finding a similar but too large nut, he generously offered to file it down himself at no extra charge. The next day, I received a text that the nuts were ready. They only cost $.66 for four, but Jeff's exceptional service was priceless. Such outstanding customer service is rare these days. Thank you, Jeff. I have a 93 year old father, and the violent weather he recently experienced destroyed a glass patio table outside -- shattered glass everywhere. I get up there once every week and a half and one of the things we love to do together is drink wine outside on the patio. So to remedy our lack of a table, I ordered one from Ace in El Dorado Hills and paid to have it assembled and delivered. My father was anxious about having someone come in and put it together. Chris from this store was great. He not only assembled it and delivered it, but he also took the existing umbrella we had and inserted it into the table. Then he swept up the remaining glass shards from the old table. My dad called me when he was done and was extremely happy. Excellent job. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I went in to this location yesterday in a terrible mood because my dog had just pooped all over my backseat of my car. I happened to be in the same complex as Ace so I went in to get cleaning supplies. I was very overwhelmed as it was covering all my leather seats and I had no idea what to do. The girl that worked there, Emma, immediately greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I told her the situation and she was incredibly helpful. She got her uncle who also worked there and was awesome, he came and helped me choose which items would work the best. They were so kind to give me some of their gloves and masks and even brought me and my boyfriend ice cold waters since we were out cleaning it in the 105 degree heat. We were in the front lot cleaning and they even offered for us to come to the back and use their hose and be in the shade. SO incredibly nice and truly outstanding over the top customer service, whoever the manager is here should be so proud to have such kind employees as Emma and her uncle. Will 100% be coming back and recommending this location! read more

Every time I have to make a quick trip to the hardware store, it seems that this one is closed. Pointless to have a hardware store with banker hours in my opinion. I'll stick to Churchhill or the bigger box stores of Home Depot and Lowe's. read more
