Despicable food for outrageous prices, despicable customer service..we watched part of our order sit in the kitchen for 20 minutes before it was finally served to us, cold, stale and tasteless. When we asked for our check for our appetizer (also tasteless) the manager of the restaurant proceeded to come out after some time and yank dishes of food from our table without an apology and actually with very discourteous words when I attempted to assist her in clearing the table. I am not sure if this is the norm for the management and staff to be so far beyond terrible, or if that is just the way staff chooses to treat a multi-racial party, (Caucasian, African American and Hispanics) but if you're coming from miles away, like we did, to have an enjoyable experience and eat some good food, then that is not NOT the place, by a long shot. It was an all around disrespectful experience and after the service we received, WE were the ones banned! Lol excuse me while I cry hysterically! We ordered the bacon wrapped chicken bites and the ceviche. The chicken bites were great but the ceviche was bland and tasteless. The menu said they were served in a tangy tomato Pico sauce but there was no tangy,hardly any sauce at all. ..definitely needed a new recipe for the marinade. Walked into the restaurant and had no idea if we should sit our selfs or wait to be seated. After 5 minutes of standing there someone took our name and said the wait would be 30 minutes. After finally being seated we waited another hour and a half to get our food but not all of it was ready and we ended up canceling 2 pizzas after 2 hours of waiting. Owners sat at a table, clearly seeing how upset we were and continued to sit there and drink a beer with other people. Worst restaurant experience going there. Server was good and apologetic but management SUCKED and was very rude as we were leaving. Do NOT waste your money!! read more

Looks nice, great tv good menu terrible execution. Expensive, mediocre food no discernable seafood in the ceviche, and lousy, slow service. There are much better places to eat in port a. If u just want to watch the game and drink a beer its ok. I won't go there again to eat for sure. read more

The company backstory shown on the menu's and website does not make sense and is particularly sexist all in about two sentences... odd to say the least. Our server know nothing about the few good beers on the menu... "um , i think that one is dark??".. Food was greasy, TV's were obnoxiously loud, we came here to eat and stay for drinks but we quickly paid our tab and left. read more

We come to Stingrays several times on our visits to Port A....our favorite place....well today that was not the case....my grandson loves playing pool so we were told by the person greeting us to sit where we wanted so we chose a table in the game room....we were disturbed several times by staff going in and out of the doors by our table.....no excuse me etc....then a guy comes out of the room and sprays our table with red soda that he dropped! He proceeded to go and hide and not say anything! A manager came over and offered to buy us a beer! This was not the best example of customer service! While we finished our food we saw no one....they all chose to hide till we left! So very disappointed! Trying to support Port A after the hurricane....these employees need to go a customer service class! ....we called back and the "manager on duty" left but we talked to another manager....do not know his name but he said he heard about the incident and comped our check....thank you for doing the right thing! ....think some of the employees need to take a customer service course! We will be back the next time we visit Port A....they need our support....still lots up do! read more

I visited Stingrays on the week of the 14th of October 2013. The bar looked very inviting, large panel TV's, comfortable tall table seating, the open garage doors makes it a great beach sports bar, without being on the beach. Looks are sometimes deceiving. After my presence was ignored at the bar I was served what I call a half pint of beer, no effort to apologize for the delay and then the insult of being provided a half glass of beer (the glass was not actually a pint). I decided to give Stingrays another try on 10/28/2013 and at the same time catch Monday Night Football. I was again was gravely disappointed. The bar was not busy however after waiting 10 minutes at the table I decided to go to the bar. Although there were many people behind the bar no one acknowledged my presence again (maybe it is just me...) or stated that I will get help soon. A man and a woman who appeared to be owners or managers were helping themselves to the taps of beer but again no acknowledgement. After a full twenty minutes in the bar I was served and at the same time a waitress appeared at our table, this is the same waitress who passed us multiple times without offering to take our order. We finally ordered food and the Pizza was very delicious and nearest you will get to a Neapolitan pizza base. The disappointments continued as the World Series was shown on every television except or a small 17 inch in the pool hall area which showed Monday Night Football. We closely observed the staff and it appears to be "friend's night". The staff appeared to know many of the (few) customers and they were served first and then had time to chat. After chatting with friends the waiters appears at our table rushed and hurried. I cannot imagine visiting Stingrays on a busy day and it appears the staff follows the example of the owner and/or managers. Shame I will not be back for the Pizza. Overall Stingrays is overpriced and not very friendly. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE EVER UNLESS YOU LACK SELF RESPECT AND LIKE BEING TREATED POORLY. If I could of rated this restaurant no stars I would have because it is that terrible. We arrived there tonight at 8 pm and ordered our food 5 minutes later, and at 9 pm we still did not have our food and never had our waiter come back to our table ONCE. When I asked to talk to a manager she arrived at our table and informed us that we had not been waiting an hour because our order had only been put in 20 mins ago. I attempted to correct her that we had been there for an hour and was met with a look and comment that would imply that I was lying. Then the overall supervisor comes to our table and explains that we are entirely wrong and that we have only been waiting 22 minutes and that we will not argue with her or her manager and that we can leave. I guess we must have gone through a time warp because we know for a fact how long we had waited. So we chose to leave with the encouragement of the supervisor. This is sad because we had been here many times before and actually enjoyed the place. However, we will NEVER in a million years go there again. High prices + poor service is a definition of a tourist trap. Do yourself a favor, do what we did and walk a half mile down to Beach Street grill and get outstanding food in 15 minutes. read more

This place was awesome! My daughter located it on the internet so we could go someplace that wasn't on the normal path in Port A. We were seated fast, we were waited on fast by a very friendly guy (wish I got his name) with coal black hair. With the 5 of us we had quiet a variety off of the menu. The maker sliders were excellent, my hamburger was cooked exactly as requested (u might be surprised how many get it wrong), The fried portabella mushrooms were loved by all. My other daughter had a drink they made and she said it was like a martini (I don't drink) with bell peppers, cucumber and jalapeno that spiced it up real nice. Loved the thin fries! All in all the 5 of us loved all of the food, service, atmosphere and Stingray's hanging above the bar. We will be back again and again. It's a little off the beaten path so look for it on the internet because it will be well worth ur time and effort. Great job Stingrays!! read more

Went for lunch on Saturday, 6/20/15, we were pretty early and had 7 people. We were told that we could not pull a stool to the end of a 6 top table because of room for people to walk. We understood and sat somewhere else. The food was good, especially the bacon wrapped chicken, the wings( we got them naked with the sauce on the side), and the portobello chips. Later that day we decided to order take out and eat at our place. When the designated member of our party went into the restaurant to order he was told no take out on weekends. This is not posted anywhere and was extremely inconvenient. So we got ready and ventured in with all 7 of us. There were empty tables but again we couldn't pull a stool around to make a six top a seven top. And we have a couple of skinny teenagers that we could have squeezed onto one side, but still no. So after waiting we split up, which we were OK with, but as we were waiting for our order they sat 7 people at one the tables we weren't allowed to sit at. On both occasions the wait staff and food was good, but be ready to deal with rude hostesses who aren't consistent. read more

Worst service ever!!!!! We came in last night, for my birthday, four of us girls. We walk in and no one greets us, they were extremely busy, ok, no big deal. After sitting down at a dirty table we randomly selected we had to flag down the poor bus boy after waiting 20 minutes. Our waitress finally arrives and we ordered everything rapidly, since we could tell she was swamped. Buffalo chicken bites I was excited for ....out. Ceviche my sister really wanted... out. Ok, "what would you recommend ?" we ask our waitress.... she says, "I don't know... onion rings? maybe the chili cheese fries ?" ...WOW. Way to up sell!!! So we choose the fried mushrooms.....51 MINUTES later the cold mushrooms came!!!!! Our waitress never checked on us, and lucky for her we had a beachy day buzz, so we were mellow. Then when she drops off only the mushrooms, she says , "y'all are going to have to be patient tonight." UM. ok..We have now been at the establishment for almost an hour and a half with one drink and one appetizer. We then wait another 30 minutes before finally cancelling our order! She was never apologetic, and could care less. The staff was so poorly managed, that place is a JOKE! Mind you all 4 of us have been servers before... we were such an easy table! We all live in Corpus and I totally had talked this place up.. it was embarrassing! What a huge disappointment !!! We were planning on spending a lot of money and she would have received a nice tip, but that place is a mess! Take your money and go somewhere else! read more
