Ambiance gets a high score because of the proximity to lots of boating action and the great panoramic views from the dining areas. We found the food to be acceptable, but very slow action out of the kitchen. My guess is they were shorthanded there, because many tables wee not occupied. Fortunately the bar must have been fully staffed, because the drinks came out post haste. Try the crab tower as appetizer, though it could serve as a light lunch too. The soft shell crab Po Boy was good, with two very large ones, but the sauce that came on the side left us wanting something different. We also had the Ahi salad and the fish taco. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, and fortunately grabbed some of the few places to wait sitting down. read more

I'm actually not sorry to leave a negative review, but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had. Don't go unless you're prepared to wait FOREVER. We arrived around 8:00 p.m. and waited about 45 minutes to an hour just to be seated. Once we were finally seated, we ordered a dozen oysters, three waters, two cocktails, and mac and cheese for our daughter. The drinks finally came, but they were incredibly weak. The biggest disappointment was the mac and cheese--it tasted like plain boxed Kraft macaroni, which was shocking for a restaurant. We placed our dinner order and then waited another hour and 45 minutes without receiving any food. By this point, it was 10:30 p.m., and our daughter had already finished eating and was exhausted. Our waiter, Kalen, was actually very polite, energetic, and apologetic throughout the night. He kept checking in and apologizing for the kitchen delays, so I don't blame him, he could have had an upper hand- and gotten aggressive and made an impact on timing. Unfortunately, after waiting nearly 2 1/2 hours from the time we arrived, we still never received our meals. My husband had to go to the front twice to cancel our order because we finally gave up and left hungry. The waiter again was nice but he could have done more and the manager competed our water and our daughters Mac and cheese. When we walked out - she had the audacity to give us a sad face - maybe you should have thought about your feelings while trying to get our food. It was truly a disgusting and horrible experience. We understand restaurants get busy, but waiting that long without food or any meaningful communication is unacceptable. We won't be returning. Paradise Key is kind of my go to place for seafood, cold drinks and a great view. My family and I stopped here after spending a couple of hours at the beach. We were told there would be an hour wait and that was no problem, any good restaurants in the area having a seaside view will all have the same wait time. We were seated after about an hour and our server took our order and brought our drinks. Unfortunately, some kind of glitch happened on our servers tablet and our order never made it to the kitchen. After about 40 minutes our server brought us some queso and chips and was very apologetic about the delay. I think if they weren't so understaffed our server would have noticed we didn't have our food and would have rectified the situation sooner. Our food finally came after an hour had passed. Our waitress was friendly and kind, we ordered a couple beers and enjoyed the ambiance, a lot better than the other restaurant we went to where it was complete silence. I ordered the Crawfish etoufee and my husband ordered a bacon cheese burger. The food was amazing! We'd definitely go back again if we come back to Rockport. Took my grandkids and family . There were 6 of us.we had coconut shrimp , spinach salad , grilled chicken salad and some chicken tenders , club sandwich . All the food was good . Getting seated was about 25 mins. Even that was no problem. Was 2:30 in afternoon on memorial weekend. The length of time from seated to getting the kiddos food was over 45 mins. The waitress did give us fair warning. They had run out of glasses so served us in to go cups . No biggie. Will go back and hopefully speed of service will be better then.. great view!! As a second-choice restaurant, this place is ok to good. We were going to eat dinner at Doc's seafood but they are closed until Wednesday to replace the floor in the restaurant. Bummer! Anyway, I was told that this place was good or better than Doc's. It's not even close. Food was ok - I had the Pecan crusted snapper. There was no crust. It was just thin breading. There was not a pecan in sight. The fish was tasty though. I should have ordered the cilantro sauce. The shrimp etouffe sauce was not that good. The good news is their green beans were delicious! Servers are friendly and easy going. Food is fine, not exceptional, and includes burgers, fried seafood, grilled seafood and other coastal dishes. Lunch Mar 2025 Normally here on the 4th of July weekend, in March the crowds for lunch aren't bad. You get to look out the widows and watch the wildlife and the changing scenery. Decided to try some appetizers for lunch, a crab cake (no photo), wonton wrapped shrimp and artichoke crab dip. All very tasty and fresh. Had a reservation at 7 pm. Finally sat in bar around 8 pm. Just out in an order at 9 pm. Can't tell who the managers are. No customer service at all. At time 8 employees standing behind the hostess desk but no one acknowledges you've been waiting 2 hours. It's not the waiters fault; it is poor or no management. We received appetizers at 9:30 pm. The waiter never brought us crab crackers. I had to knock in the kitchen door to get some. The he managers never came to check on us. When we called and spoke to one of them at the end she blamed the holiday weekend and miscommunication. We were also told there were no reservations even though we called and were told we had made a reservation. We will never eat at this restaurant again. We wait longer...our drinks are being refilled...it's almost 9p and still no food! So, we find our server at the POS to tell them we want to cancel our whole dinner. We'll pay for what we did get (a couple of appetizers and drinks) - we just need to leave. She says ok and "it takes 30mins to make the food" but it was well over that time frame but I wasn't going to argue with her, she goes to the back I assume, and miraculously our food is coming out - all of it. We decide to just go ahead and stay and eat real fast because we gotta go. The food WAS AWFUL. You can tell our food was just SITTING there for God knows how long, getting cold and hard at their expo!! The fish was dry, chips were stale, mashed potatoes were crusted over as it was starting to harden on the outer layer, people had to get their food taken off bc they couldn't eat it...some people liked their food, cos how can you really screw up a burger or a "soup" you just reheat in the back? Flavor isn't a thing there apparently...it was a waste of time and money. We left at 9p. We barely ate anything. We waited WAY TOO LONG for our food. We will never ever set foot in this place again and have already started telling people to not go there. This place is trash, in my opinion. Oh and she mixed up our tabs (they don't split checks for large parties but the check had "guest 1, 2 3 etc. but there were things guest 1 didn't order but guest 3 did...) and we think she double ordered some things bc our party didn't order some of the things that were on the check but we were already in Austin by the time we realized this. read more

OUTSTANDING! Loved everything about this place! The view of the water was nice and chill; the staff was super friendly and personable. Our server, Chrissy was a lot of fun and the manager, Erica was genuinely interested in our dining experience. The seafood was so fresh! The peel and eat shrimp were heavenly and tasted like they just came out of the bay. My flounder po-boy was lightly breaded and so good. Once seated we only took around 10 minutes to order our food so it should not have took that long. That being said the food and drinks are the reason we keep going. Apps I recommend are the wings, peel and eat shrimp, and calamari. downloaded the app just to give this review. i went with family. when we arrived, the ac was broken. it was so hot. our server was SO RUDE- not to mention we couldn't hear what she was saying because she talked very quietly. not to be immature, but she gave us so much attitude and checked on us all but twice. got up to use the restroom and she was flirting with a coworker. my aunt asked for water when we had to yell her over and she said okay, didn't ask anyone else what they'd like, walked away and took a solid 15 minutes to come back. our drinks were refilled once the whole two hours we were there. not to mention, we waited an HOUR for our food to come out. worst service i've ever had. food wasn't great either. when it was time to pay, we couldn't find our server. we had to walk to the front and pay there. restaurant was NOT busy. only about 4 tables were full inside. and about 5 outside. i understand restaurants get busy, but when they aren't busy, it should be going faster. i'm very disappointed. sorry- not sorry. read more
