We hit the mother load! Best restaurant in town. All of the food tasted fresh. The pizza was amazing. My son loved the chicken fingers which were hand battered along with the fresh cut fries. The BLT had thick cut bacon and the produce was fresh. Don't skip dessert! The fried oreo's were an experience in itself. If you like banana pudding, you'll want to indulge in this homemade recipe. Still haven't eaten here so can't fully judge food -- however on a previous trip spent a night at the bar and just spent two more nights drinking and playing pool. Had a great time so had to give it some stars. Great local beer selection - I liked the Lazy Beach which they said was from Corpus. Super friendly staff and a very cool place with lots of tvs and a small patio that looks out over park my lot then high school practice field beyond. There was some live music at the bar next door which you could hear from outside. Ping pong, darts and pool was free!! read more

This is a tough review because we love Stingrays, and normally visit at least once a week. We're glad they've been able to stay afloat during Covid, and even offer cocktails to go. The one problem is that they're pretty blatantly anti-mask, and there's no sense of social distancing. When I walk in with my mask, I'm definitely the odd man out. I hope they make it through this tough time, but we'll be holding off visiting until it feels safer. read more

First time here. Everyone always raved about this place, but I'll say I'm not at all impressed. I ordered the pulled pork tacos and the pork was odd. It almost reminded me of the kind of pork you get at the grocery store that prepackaged and you put in the microwave. Our waitress was eating fries out off the fry bucket in the kitchen with her bare hands and carrying around a dog while working. She was also not attentive or friendly. Granted she was the only waitress on staff but we definitely found her to be very rude. We tried to order dessert and asked what the cheesecake of the day was. Then we were told there was no cheesecake. So we decided to order 4 skillet cookies instead. About 10 minutes later the waitress came back and said the only had 3 left. It's a nice sports bar with lots of TVs but service isn't their strong suit. But the reason for my low grade is how I was spoken to by who I asume is the manager (Red Sox on backwards). They were not at all busy and it was first day of NCAA Tournament and I politely asked him if he would put some of the TVs to a certain game and he snapped "I've got a lot going on right now just hold on" I said OK thanks and told him which station it was on and he snapped again "Yeah I have all the schedules." It's the kind of experience that will eliminate Stingrays as a go-to place for me." Best new bar in Port Aransas, TX I would have to say. This is a top notch spot and in the summer time it's going to go off. I would have to say it is officially the nicest bar in Port Aransas, TX. Entrance is a little confusing, it's still kind of under construction on one side and there is the Gaff(bar) right next door. They have some bathrooms located outside which is genius for beach goers, and pool tables right when you walk in the entrance. Then you go through and enter in the bar/food area which is decked out with NASCAR themed interior, stingray corvettes in the ceiling and a few high top tables to drink/eat. The kitchen had a cool window to see the chefs as well as a beautifully decorated pizza oven. The service was excellent, bartenders were smart and fast. They even sell cigars, merchandise and bottles of wine. They have a great wine selection as well as wine fridges to hold your wine at the right temperature. A bunch of large TV's so you won't miss any of the action from wherever you are standing. Huge garage doors line the business for summer time and once these open up it's going to the spot to hang out in the front! This is a spot to check out next time your in Port A and have a drink. They also have about 50 beers on tap and surely one you will love. DRINK UP SON. read more

We didn't make it to Port A last summer (grandkids tend to change your vacation plans) and Stingray's was the first place we wanted to come back to. Sadly, it was disappointing. The beer selection is clearly whatever the Bud distributor wanted them to sell. Texas offerings were far more limited, and there were no rarer beers at all - all beers that you can get at some chains. At least they had Karbach. The food was still OK. My wife ordered the buffalo shrimp and oysters, thinking it was a combo. Something the bartender said *after* she entered the order made us ask - turns out it's not a combo and she entered 2 orders. Even though "Lots of people think it's a combo", she didn't think it was necessary to make sure we knew it wasn't a combo. The wine selection was very limited, and my wife ended up ordering a wine that she usually gets in the bottle for about $15. Turns out Stingray's charge $15.99 a glass for this wine. A heads-up from the bartender would have been nice. I love the location and the atmosphere. But with the service and the price of wine, we probably won't be back. read more

I have been visiting Port Aransas for several years and I decided to review stingrays. It's a great sports bar. They have plenty of tvs to watch football. My girlfriend tried their Cabo tacos which were very good. I liked the Sauce on the tacos. stingrays has a great variety of beer and drinks to have while you watch a game. Our bartender was very nice and did mention to us that kitchen were behind in making pizzas. Which I thought was nice of him to alert us. The pizzas must be good. One important note... stingrays does get busy during football season and it might take a while to get seated or find a place at the bar. There is plenty of street parking which is good. I really like stingrays and would recommend it to anyone who likes sports bars. I will be back. Oh... the stingray corvette that is above the bar is cool. read more

Awful. Tons of flies buzzing around the restaurant. The waiter never refilled our drinks during the whole duration of our stay and he was pushy. When taking our order he seemed annoyed for no reason. Our food took an hour to come out and the order was incorrect. It took another ten minutes for the simplest of ingredients to come out. There signs hung up saying they are understaffed however the kitchen looked fully staffed and there was enough Stingray personnel walking in and out. So this seems like a huge management problem. No sense delegating. We won't be returning to this hole-in-the-wall and definitely DO NOT recommend it. read more

Our Original destination closed early, so we asked an employee where to go and she recommended StingRays. Dispute mediocre reviews, we tried StingRays and were pleasantly surprised. We started with Peel N Eat Shrimp. The 1/2lb order was plenty to share. Fresh and Large! Shared a Blackened Fish Sandwich and WOW what a great fish sandwich. Served on toasted Focaccia, baby greens, tomato, tarter sauce and topped with French fried onions! Definitely big enough to split. The seasoned fries and broccoli slaw were good. Our little traveler had the kids cheese pizza cooked in a wood fire pizza oven. She have it a thumbs up and chow'd. We were headed home when we stopped or would have tried a craft beer sampler. They have tons of beers on tap, too many up name. Our ice teas were served in a souvenir cup. Overall it was a great meal. Our visit was around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon but did not encounter and service or kitchen issues as I saw in so many of the other posts. read more

We were looking for a great lunch on a rainy day and we scored with Stingray's!! It's rare when four different menu items are ordered and all are amazing. everything is fresh and made from scratch. The fish sandwich was large with a very generous fish filet - black drum was the catch of the day. The pulled pork is yummy and chunky unlike others i've had. I ordered a side of bbq sauce which is the best i've ever had. It's made with Makers Mark bourbon. The grilled chicken sandwich was moist and flavorful on a delish ciabatta bun. The burger was huge and juicy. French fries are hand cut, thin and nicely seasoned. My grandson was nicely entertained with one of two pool tables which are free. Great decor with two stingray cars perched high above the bar. We are going back in a few days to watch the Big Ten basketball tournament and will likely get the ribs with the yummy bbq sauce. read more

I've visited this restaurant many times over the years since I visit here often. Never had a bad experience, food is always good. I visited last night with a family member and was really disappointed. The restaurant was not super busy, I noticed about 5 other tables in the whole restaurant. The bar was about full. I only saw 2 servers the entire time we were there. Our server was very short and dry with us, understandable if it was busy. It took a long time to get my first cocktail, which was delicious by the way. I asked for another cocktail as our entrees came out. Fried shrimp po boy, delicious as always. We had finished our meal and waited about 20 min after finishing to see our server. I asked for the check. I had never received my second cocktail and it was on the bill. It took another 10 minutes to get the second bill. During our time there at the restaurant, I noticed two separate families get up and leave because no one had come to their table to greet them. I do suggest this place since their food and drinks are great, but don't expect stellar service. read more

First off, the layout of basketball games playing was a sight to behold! If you like to watch sports you'll find nothing better in Port A. I got to watch three basketball games at once. The pizza's good, not amazing but good. Last time we had a seafood pizza that was fantastic. This time it was pizza with a few shrimp, eh... Overall, I really have no complaints. Good service. I really have nothing nice to say about this place. The only reason you get one star is because it forces me to, trust me I wish I didn't. The service was horrible, I don't think I can express that enough. Our server acted like it was a chore to take our order. He never asked if we were ready to order when he waited on the other tables next to us,nor when he was at our table to drop off our drinks. He dropped them off and hustled away. It was so weird, the whole thing was so extremely odd. I had to stare him down from across the room to get him to come to our table. The salad I ordered was so wilted some of it was rotten and brown, good thing they slopped a plethora of dressing on it to cover it up. The other food we ordered tasted so bland my dog wouldn't touch it. They overloaded the plate with the side to compensate for the horrible tasting food. That would be ok if the side tasted great. Nothing was good everything tasted old and looked so sad. The server left the dirty plate on the table, after picking it up and putting it down in another place on our table 3 different time he came to the table. It was so bad it became comical. I am from Texas and make it down to Port A a couple times a year, that being said there are plenty of restaurants on that island and this will not be one I come back to. Great service, Buffalo wings and sliced fried pickles were top notch, ranch was well paired. Appetizers were gas. If you're stopping there you're at peak. All of us had burgers, port a patty, pizza, blue cheese, and the hangover. Beef wasn't the best, chili was low quality on the hangover, bleu cheese, also low quality. Really good fries. If they are going to make a change, it should be better spicing and temp control on their beef. Next time I'll get something fried and see how that works out. We were apparently sitting in someone else's section and had been waiting to be served for about 20 minutes...we were about to leave and go somewhere else when she came over and said she didn't know who our waitress was supposed to be but she was gonna take care of us. She was so sweet and attentive to us, making sure our drinks were always full and that we were enjoying everything. She was such an amazing waitress and made us so glad we stayed! Our food was delicious. Very fresh grilled fish, fantastic broccoli slaw (which I'd never heard of before, but am now obsessed with), and an apple cobbler for dessert that was to die for! Our dogs were very comfortable sitting on the patio with us, having the occasional French fry from the table. Love that they have water dishes for puppies outside!
