Lesle completely MADE our day here! We were apparently sitting in someone else's section and had been waiting to be served for about 20 minutes...we were about to leave and go somewhere else when she came over and said she didn't know who our waitress was supposed to be but she was gonna take care of us. She was so sweet and attentive to us, making sure our drinks were always full and that we were enjoying everything. She was such an amazing waitress and made us so glad we stayed! Our food was delicious. Very fresh grilled fish, fantastic broccoli slaw (which I'd never heard of before, but am now obsessed with), and an apple cobbler for dessert that was to die for! Our dogs were very comfortable sitting on the patio with us, having the occasional French fry from the table. Love that they have water dishes for puppies outside! Don't do it; stay away. Plenty other establishments to spend your $ and time in while on the island. Seemed like a fun spot to hang out, eat seafood and watch some bowl games but unfortunately the service was sub par to say the least, and the wait times for each drink, refill and appetizers,were not worth it. Such a shame as I was enjoying the establishment until the truth settled in. The goofball owner/manager or whoever the douche guy was with the flat billed cap ruined it. The blonde lady was nice and doing her hardest to keep things flowing and kept apologizing but it was obvious they were understaffed or some other failure in their process. So the rude guy brought out our po boys and yelled as he was coming toward our table simply: "FISH"! to us meaning who had the fish po boy, then he slid my shrimp po boy across the table to me (and the order was messed up). We both said thank you but no response from this loser. That was just the start of it with this 'tard. Then we were overcharged, which is fine as of course stuff happens but when I pointed it out to the dweeb he grumbled and simply just said it will take some time to void the charge and recharge. I said keep it but just wanted y'all to know. He scoffed and walked away. No apology, no thank you, no acknowledgment from this tool. Shame shame since it seemed like a good find at first. To me, service is #1. This moron could care less about nice and friendly paying customers. This place opened 2 days ago and has one hell of a great vibe. We rode our beach cruisers here from the shore and just happened to stumble in. Big screen TVs everywhere with sports on every channel, the owners were very catering to changing one of the TVs to a station we wanted to watch. Tons of beer on draft, they say it will be regularly changed out, friendly bartender, clean feel and unique decor. Bags outside for some fun as well. Listen. If you are a person of color, DO NOT COME HERE. The very second that my group of Hispanic friends and I walked in the front door, they made us sit outside with zero hesitation. They didn't allow us the choice to split up in 4 and 4 to eat inside. Immediately asked to sit outside. And aside from the workers, the locals were staring at us like we were a different breed. Most uncomfortable eating experience with the staff and locals. The man at the register immediately started shaking his head and saying "no" when we were ASKED to go in and pay by our waiter. He really wanted to keep us out of the restaurant. One of my friends went inside to ask for some ranch and she was told, "don't touch anything don't touch anything, someone will bring it to you." none of the staff were wearing masks or gloves at all... and they never brought the ranch. On a beach trip, I took the family here to eat dinner. The food was fantastic. My wife and I had the fried fish with broccoli slaw and fries, came with a spicy hollandaise sauce. The kids had hand-tossed pizzas. All of the food was excellent. Great selection of fancy beers (I had Magic Hat) and my wife got their specialty drink which was tequila with fresh lime juice and cucumbers. We were actually heading to another establishment when we found out it was closed and didnt open until dinner... silly if you ask me during a festival weekend. BUT all turned out great!!! Found this place open, full bar, and GREAT food!! Seemed to be a hoping place. The onion rings are KILLER!! Pizza is fabulous and the BUFFALO OYSTERS are AMAZING!!!!! Our server, Nick, was so awesome. We sat on the patio since we had our dogs with us and he served us both days. Kudos to Nick for being so great, and chatting with us and making our experience fantastic. The onion rings at Stingrays are my new favorite thing in the world. Actually, all their food is really good, and you get A LOT of food for the price. Their patio is small, 4 picnic tables and then like... a weird side table that's by the bathrooms and a giant jenga table. It's first come first serve, and dinner time so it was busy. We had to sit at the weird bathroom table first, and then when a table paid their tab, Nick moved us over (good lookin out, dude). Best tap beer selection in Town. Three IPAs, and some ~20 beers on tap. Appetizers are good... Wings are perfectly prepared, crispy unbattered skin with juicy meat inside. The sauce is pretty run of the mill on the sauce side... I'd guess it's Franks red hot and butter. The bacon wrapped chicken bites are great, really tastes, as well as the fried portabella. The ribs were ok. Fall off bone style, and smokey, but very standard sauce and for some reason just not super memorable. The pulled pork sandwich is very good. I recommend it to a pulled pork lover. The makers burger is also pretty tasty. read more

We came to Port A on vacation and decided to try Stingrays. The atmosphere was awesome! Very chilled and relaxing. The food was definitely a step up from regular bar food. Although the service was a little slow the staff was very accommodating. My husband really wanted to watch the Spurs game and they tried their hardest to find the game. - wasn't being shown on tv though =( My husband had the burger and said it was very juicy! I had the chicken strips and they were also good! The decor and concept for the bar was genius! We will def go back the next time we are in town. read more

The broccoli coleslaw was wonderful. It was the hit of the evening. The pizza was very good. There is even a bean bag game out front to keep kids entertained. Very cool spot, right by the shore in Port A. Lots of places to sit, in and outside and TVs for watching sports are all around. They have a great variety of micro-brews on draft. I was really impressed with their beer list as well as the bartenders knowledge of all their beers. We got the chicken wings, which I wouldn't recommend. A local sitting next to me straight up told me that I ordered wrong and one should always order the pizza there, never the wings. Bad wings didn't ruin my opinion of Stingrays though, I'll be back! read more

Stingrays gets a lot of things right. The service is top notch and the place looks great. You can tell management really cares whether customers have a good experience. We like to sit at the bar wherever we go. Stingrays is perfect example of why. We've been there twice (so far) on this trip and both visit have been really nice. My wife loves their buffalo shrimp and today she tried the chili cheese fries. She loved them!! I ate a pizza. Also tasty. I wasn't nuts about the crust but it was good and fresh. Not a knock on the quality, which was definitely there. The toppings were really good and the homemade sauce is a stand out. (Yes. Vacations are bad for diets.) We stopped in at Stinrays for lunch and again for happy hour after the beach. They have a good selection of beers on tap compared to other bars in Port A with enough craft beers to keep me happy. The food was really good. We got the ribs and beer battered fish and were happy. The ribs are not fall off the bone but very tasty. We got the pizza for happy hour and thought it to be very good. Now for the bad. I thought the chips and salsa portion was very small. When we came back for happy hour there was only one server due to someone calling off. The one server was good but behind due to the crowd. The biggest issue I had was the happy hour prices did not show up in our bill. That ended up being a $14 difference. DON'T DO IT!!!! Great concept with very poor execution. Even though the reviews were not great they were not bad and I liked the idea of half outdoors and pizza guessing they had a great drink menu. I was sucked in by the idea and sadly disappointed. If you go...do not sit at the bar - at least this way you will be blissfully unaware of how the operation side of the business runs. HOT inside...they need more fans. FLYS wanted to share me beer. MEN IN SLEEVELESS TSHIRTS waited tables and went to kitchen...hair in food is bad but the risk of armpit hair super gross Cook staff could be seen eating in kitchen with the hands One of the female owners was too busy on cell to offer to help and the bartender was only bringing you something if you asked, she was not proactively offering anythimg. I have never only had 2 drinks at lunch but I did today. On a good note, She was quick when you asked for something though. We went here to take our family out to celebrate my husband's 60 birthday. We were a party of 11 7 adults,1 toddler and two 9 month old. They informed us that they could only seat a party of 8 . He also informed that the could seat us in two parties of 5 but you could see that this was not what they wanted. He informed us that Corpus was paying$3.00 more so that is why they where short on help. They did not apologize or in anyway make us feel welcomed. Very nice location, ambiance and idea but service is either really good or really bad. I have had one really great expedience and a few ok's and two really bad. It is better than some Port A places but overpriced. It is bar food: generic burgers are base 9.99 and just a glorified Whataburger (not including cheese with is extra 1.49). For $12 I expect ground steak, interesting topping or sauces etc. Sandwiches are the same - generic, not wow , worth the price. Pizza is wood fired but at average $18 for 8 thin slices, good but not awesome. Feedback from others is the same - ok but overpriced. One thing that is good is the drinks are not overpriced and the TV's are great - good place to watch football read more

Stopped in for some dinner. Waited by register finally stopped an employee after two walked by multiple times and asked about seating. Guy told us its opening seating and sit anywhere. After 15 minutes with the two tables next to us getting shots and other drinks and the another behind us that paid we never got offered anything. So we left. Horrible service will not be back. Was disappointed as the gentleman that told us to sit anywhere appeared to be the waiter for our section. 25 minutes with never being acknowledged is just poor service.
