The relatively small size of the location is deceiving, as the selection is vast. They have condiments, dressings, and sauces galore - many ethnic and imports. Frozen goods included lobster ravioli and gourmet treats. Refrigerated goods include enough cheeses for an epic charcuterie, eggs, and dairy. Their snack aisle is equally diverse; with asian crackers, Italian cookies, chips and snacks of all types, and enough candy to fill the best Easter baskets. Their household selection was nothing to rave about, but they did have an interesting variety of supplements and health and beauty products. If all that isn't enough, they also have their own in-house bakery featuring fresh loaves of bread and cookies. This grocer is definitely worth a stop if you appreciate a deal!

If you are in the Corvallis/Albany area- and aren't already familiar with their farm, you are missing out. Their thick cut shoulder bacon has made me a believer in the bacon craze. Beautiful pork chops/roasts and seasonal lamb. Seasonally, they produce the best ham I have ever tasted- either in roast or steak form. The chicken is divine, and spoils you for the slimy grocery store alternative. They also offer goat, duck, eggs, and an array of pork sausages. They recently started selling grass-fed/finished buffalo that cooks up like a steak that I can't afford. Their prices are quite reasonable, and veer away from the high price tag normally associated with 'small batch' style farms. This is farm owned and operated by a local Corvallis family, who are incredibly nice people- who care about the animals that they raise- and the products which they offer. A visit to the farm is worth the short drive, but you can also catch April at the Corvallis Farmer's Market.

It's a bit of a haul to pick it up but the local places get their schedules filled and can't hands our order. The first year, when we drove out to Lebanon in October, it was nearly 100 degrees out there and our beef was almost thawed by the time we got it back to the coast (even though it was in coolers and frozen when we picked it up). Part of the reason is that they wheeled the meat out to the lobby and in boxes. We used the dolly to take one box at a time out to the car but couldn't fit it in that way and had to open the boxes and load it into coolers. It took a while and no one offered to help us. In future years, we took a truck so we didn't have to open the boxes. More expense in gas but worth it. They do a nice job wrapping the meat, everything is clean and clearly labeled and the order is custom. They call and ask how you want everything. One annoying thing is that they don't seem to keep this information on file so we have to go through it again every year. Good thing we keep notes! The hamburger comes in two-pound tubes which are really convenient, especially for company. It makes plenty for a party of four to six. But you can also get it in one-pound tubes. Same with steaks. We get them in packages of two but you can get four per as well. The do a great job with the trimming, the meat is really beautiful. If you request to receive the organ meats, bones or fat, however, you have to really make sure they've given it to you. They'll either forget to include it, give you something else, or give you a partial order. After driving home an hour and a half, it's pretty annoying to realize you didn't get it all. Like most meat processors, they also make sausage and have a good selection at the shop. We didn't try any but I would guess that they're good.

I didn't get that feeling on either of my visits. It was not busy at all when I arrived. There were 3 people around the cash register and I can hear them happily greeting the other shopper that arrived around the same time I did. They encouraged the other person to peruse the side with the home goods. However, I did not get any welcoming words and even at the register, the communication was minimal. - Cash or credit? Do you need a bag? - I am the person that gets invited to bible study by strangers at Barnes & Nobles. I do not have RBF. Although nothing negative was said to me, the experience just left me feeling uncomfortable. I would rather take my business somewhere were all individuals are welcomed and treated as such.
