This place is pretty good for your go to Chinese takeout. I usually get the Chef's Dinner Special of General Two's chicken with shrimp fried rice and veggie egg roll. Today I wanted to try someone different so I got Sesame Chicken, but it wasn't good. Barely any sauce and the chicken wasn't crispy. I'll stick to what I normally get next time. This is one of my favorite Chinese places in the area. Your typical American Chinese takeout. Very comforting. The Fried rice is very well seasoned and not dry at all. All of the meat dishes, nicely sauced, nothing is dried out. By far the best egg drop and wonton soup I have had. I order party trays fairly regularly and everyone loves it. Their vegetables are never over cooked. Their chicken wings are not super great and the eggrolls could be fatter and fresher, but they are still very good. prices have gone up lately just like everywhere else, but still worth every penny. I live a lot closer to Golden City, but im not a fan of their crab ragoon. I find that due to them having so much filling, the ragoons get soggy real fast. Today, the craving for ragoons was intense but i didnt want the ones from GC. I yelped and took a chance on Stir Fry. Glad I did! The ragoons were on point. And the chicken they use for their sweet and sour chicken...exactly how i like them. They're like little nuggets, perfectly fried and the chicken within is moist and not tough! Yes! Not a fan. Wherever I am, I try the Hunan Chicken and Moo Goo Gai Pan at as many of the local Chinese places that I can. This place is average if not below average. Price: Good. Quart sizes run you about 9 dollars. Food quality: Poor. To me, both the Moo Goo Gai Pan and Hunan Chicken tasted odd based on the range of versions I've been able to experience. This chef likes to use beans in his Hunan Chicken, which takeout restaurants will commonly do but that has always been a turn off for me. I also do not prefer zucchini in Hunan Chicken or anything really beyond chicken and broccoli, but zucchini is a definite no. The Hunan Chicken also tasted greasy. The Moo Goo Gai Pan tasted very salty. I know this is Chinese. Of course, it will be salty but I could taste the upper end of the salt spectrum in this dish. Texture in both dishes was overly softened but I ordered delivery so it's expected that the vegetables will be softer than their initial state. Also not appreciative of the presentation of large pyramid shaped squash or something like that in this dish. Special instructions: I also care to see if the restaurant listens to special instructions that I put in for the dish. I asked for half the sauce. Both dishes showed no apparent reduction in sauce. For take out this place is our favorite. Chicken wings taste better than anyone's I've ever had as far as Chinese take out goes. They mix the won ton and egg drop soup together which we love as well. So my husband and I were laid up with a terrible cold a few weeks ago. I asked him to go to Number One Kitchen and get us some soup and he came back with literally the best hot and sour soup I had ever had. Turns out he went to the wrong place and we have been hooked on Stir Fry ever since. They're a bit curt, not exactly friendly but their food is spot on. We've now had their lo-mein, General Tso's, egg rolls and of course the soup. All of their sauces are really good, and the food is not too oily or dry. This used to be my go to Chinese restaurant, it's quick, reasonable and it's in my neighborhood. However a couple months ago I had the shrimp szechuan and my shrimp had an ammonia taste. I called to let them know about the shrimp and the lady that answered the phone put a gentleman on who was insulted that I had something to say about the shrimp. I said it wasn't going there again, but I did. And I will never make that mistake again, the gentleman who apparently is the cook recognized me as the lady who didn't care for the bad shrimp so he loaded much sauce in my lo mein and they didn't put a bag over the cardboard box. I spent a half hour when I got home cleaning soy sauce from the carpet of my car. will never go there again, next time he could put something in the food to hurt me. Won't give him that chance. I didn't have a menu when I ordered, so I didn't know the pork fried rice cost an extra dollar. White rice or regular fried rice is included, but the pork fried rice is extra. It's not a big deal, but I wish I had known about that when I ordered. The egg roll was included. Today's General Tso's was very spicy. I ordered beef and broccoli, added mushrooms and then ordered a side of spring rolls. They said it would be about 45 minutes and I ended up getting my food in about 15, piping hot. I've eaten here many times I usually get the same thing, either baby fried shrimp and fries (love the sauce that comes with it) general tso's chicken, shrimp egg roll, very spicy lo mein or fried dumplings. The staff aren't the best conversationalist, but as long as my food is good, I don't need to engage lol...
